    Purchased all new GE appliances installed microwave on 6/20/18, quit working 3/7/21! our last microwave still worked after 10 years should have stuck with that one. won’t buy GE again.

    So far, very pleased. It does everything we need. They did change the color of the display, so it sticks out a bit, but when we replace the stove, it will match.

    From the outside slate color, to the microwave sensors and features, to the extra large cooking plate and interior down to the internal color of this microwave, I have never been this happy with a product.

    I bought this to replace my old GE one dead after 7-year. Took a few hours to install it. Otherwise, Nothing to complain.

    The product looks good and the grey slate finishing goes well with white cabinets. The installation templates provided are not good. So if you are installing yourself read them carefully many times. Also use check your installation multiple times and take independent measurements. The metal plate for the wall is extremely sharp and cut my fingers at 2 places. The plate got bent during installation so I had to put 2 additional screws. I would expect a better quality heavier place with edges deburred.

    This my third Slate GE microwave, last two were the 1.7’s first lasted about 3 years, stopped working didn’t have warranty. Got another on sale and great price so got 5 year warranty. it lasted two years. After long back and fourth on repair or not to repair they concluded they would replace, warranty only paid what I paid, no more which was $150 difference to replace, so just happens the 1.9 also slate color and more features goes on sale and wow I can get for same warranty price, also got 5 year warranty. Another story about installation but microwave works and looks great so far.

    We’ve only had it for 16 days but so far it works great with no problems. It’s user friendly and very pretty in Slate with plenty of power. It fit perfectly into the opening above our range where we had a much older model that was not powerful enough. We love the surface lights and multi-speed fan that is relatively quiet.

    We bought the exact same microwave with matching fridge and gas range 15 months ago and it failed. We didn’t buy extra warranty. Excellent design by GE. They scammed us good. The other microwaves have about the same reliability and we were forced to buy this trash since we had to get something that matched other GE appliances.

    Happy with the power, it boils water quickly. The glass tray sticks out a little past the lip, which was unexpected. A little louder than I expected, but not bad. I like that the timer is persistent. It won’t stop beeping until you hit cancel.

    Purchased this microwave from the Best Buy Outlet in Eden Prairie. Was told there was nothing wrong with it, but when the contractor went to install, it was crushed. The box looks fine though. And it did not include the mounting plate.

    I bought a suite of GE appliances for my kitchen remodel and recently had the microwave installed. So far, so good. I like the sensor cook option where you pick a number based on what you’re reheating. i just wish microwaves came with the soft close door option like my cabinets, because the glass detached from my last microwave from closing the door too hard at times, but you can’t have everything.

    Needed a new over the range microwave to replace our over 20-year-old one. We already had a GE slate fridge and range so we got the GE slate microwave to match. Looks great. The slate color is so much better than stainless steel it doesn’t show fingerprints. This microwave has a ton of features like sensor cooking, easy starting by 1 to 5 minutes in one touch, had 30 seconds button to start the microwave in one touch. It has steam cleaning. Event fan has four speed settings, surface light has two settings and you can replace the 50 watt halogen bulb with a G8 LED bulb from Amazon and it’s way brighter and uses less energy and runs cooler than the halogen bulb. The interior is a little dark because it has the enamel surface to make it easier to clean, wish the bulb was brighter or had multiple in the interior. But overall great microwave.

    It works but it is really loud when cooking and the vent fan is very loud. The components are very cheap and have a poor feeling and sturdiness about them. Does not cook as efficiently as similar microwaves.

    This is the 3rd micro we have had to get from GE the last one lasted 1 1/2 years the one before that lasted 2yrs. The mag goes out and stops heating. If it wasn’t for having all our appliances this same color I would have switched to a different brand but everything is less then 5 years old. Very disappointed in the quality.

    We purchased this as a package when the slate version was first released. It has sustained three teenagers for the last three years. Not a lot of fingerprints, but grease definitely shows up. In our house meal prepping is the only way we can get by so the microwave gets a lot of use! It recently stopped heating and we are now looking to replace it.

    Bought a new microwave…was sent a used one that was completely full of grease and gross. Returned it and they ordered a new one for me and then canceled my order the following day. Their advice to me was buy a different microwave, use it and send it back once other one gets there. Buyer beware when shopping at Best Buy.
