Is there a camera that really works as advertised for night recording? Night stills are a poor example, I want to see people post videos (moving objects). A totally different perspective on things.
The software is not quite user friendly. Pairing takes some patience. The GUI ( Graphical User Interface) takes a bit of getting accustomed to.

Great video…when it’s working. Very small/discreet so it’s easier to hide/blend in. It requires you to re-format the micro SD card at minimum every 6 months or else it gets very glitchy. I didn’t know about this so when I tried to review video after a minor rear-ending. The camera never started recording when the car was started so no video even though it’s supposed to have automatic loop recording. I had purchased 4 of these cameras for 2 vehicles and immediately reformatted all of them.
Main big gripe is the app. Sometimes connects right away, sometimes not. Seems to connect better on my old Android 11 than Apple iOS 17 or Android 13 so I use my old Android when updating the firmware or viewing/saving videos from the camera.
Overall, great cameras, but Garmin really needs to fix the app.

Less than a week into ownership I would notice it occasionally not turning on. Ruled out the usb 12v power adapter as the issue. Sometimes it would work, most of the time it didn’t. Slow and annoying to connect to your phone. Would not recommend.

I have a garmin gps with a camera and expected the same quality camera. However, the software is different and the picture quality on the camera is average. License plates cannot always be read for cars in front of me. But it captures what happens and it is very compact. Use a micro sd card that can handle the temps because this gets hot. I have had this a coule of years and am considering other options.

All one needs. 4 stars, after 1 year constant use first issue, After hours of support online on Garmin, found out memory card was full therefore Garmin Camera Just stopped working. No warning! Only fix was to take MicroSd card, factory erase, re-install in camera only for camera to turn back on. NONE of which is on Garmin website when you talk about why No power to camera,

Summary
Pros
— Instal and set up of 2 German Mini 2, front and rear, was easy. (Doesn’t need extra cable connecting the two cams)
— The app seamlessly integrates both cams. Very intuitive and easy to use. For live view or save files can toggle back or front cam.
— Voice commands work well. Say “Hi Grumman save video” and it saves 30 seconds of video on both cams in same file, 15 seconds before and after command. Or just push button on back.
— Can easily preview files via Wifi on cams from phone.
— No problem transferring files to my iPhone via wifi. The 30 second clip took about 30 seconds. A 2 minute clip took 3 minutes. (Longer clips say 10 mins would take too long.)
— Picure in picture option when saving also works fine. Takes a little longer to transfer but has back camera recording in top corner of front recoding.
— The trim edit function also works to trim the length of a clip. The app saves each trip as one file. So say take a pic or save file to get time when incident took place, then in edit before transferring, tap on timeline in video to get to event time, then drag start and stop one minute on each side of time of event, for a two minute video, which takes 3 mins to transfer. I had to trim it down to 50 seconds to email it from my iPhone to be under 1GB, so if I need to email to a cop on site if in an accident, otherwise would need to be connected to network for larger files.
— Files are saved to micro SD card in 1 min length. Still easy to scroll through.)
— The supplied power cables are very thin and easy to tuck in so they are hidden.
— All very small and discrete.
— Used a Samsung Pro Endurance micro SD card that was on the list of approved cards on Garmin website for this camera.
Cons
— Didn’t connect to bluetooth on second cam during set up. Same as others stated, when it says to select device in a screen. Had to turn both phone and cam off and it worked second time.
— Sometimes have to click connect a few times for it to connect to wifi.
— After firmware update it said only half of cam was connected to BT. Said to go into phone settings and tap on Mini 2, there are two Bluetooth connections for each cam. Did this and connected no prob. Have no issues with CarPlay or blue tooth. Sometimes have to push play on Pandora as the dash cam may have been the last connected device when car turned off but no biggie.
Mine works great so keeping it. Just make sure to update firmware which is easy in settings, and use recommended SD card. Mine was only $13.
I got mine from BB and people aren’t having the kind of issue as others online “prime” retailers. Hopefully German keeps the firmware updated. But I’m very pleased with this set up. 1080p is fine for recording events and can still email a 30 second clip of incident on site to a cop via phone if necessary.

I am using this as my rear camera. I got bumped in the rear and the incident was not recorded. I reached out to Garmin and was told my sd card was not working. But all prior and after the incident, all videos are aaved. Garmin wanted me to simulate the impact for them to replace the device. Very wierd solution.

Love this little dash cam high-quality better than an iPhone .has helped me in a real accident with insurance companies due to another party Damaging my driver side Red door .clearly showed I was at a complete stop. While the other person continues to drive and hit my car.
Had this camera for about two years only issue I do have every so often it lets off a really high-pitched noise and you have to unplug it and wait to it to power off and then replug it in and then the cameras working again
It’s been two years since I had this camera. The main issue I have now is that the camera got damaged by the sun and only records in green but thankfully I have the warranty through Best Buy so I’m able to get a replacement. I will always continue to use Garmin this has been a wonderful product would recommend

Just purchased this dash cam. I went to install it and noticed the power cable that connects to the camera is angled so that the cord goes down versus up. If I am attempting to hide this behind the liner (the top part of the car), this creates an issue as the power cable goes down (not up). Gotta return this ASAP.

This dash cam is absolutely phenomenal. No issues as of yet, it records video (and audio of desired) at all times, and goes into basically a Sentry Mode when your vehicle is off, as long as your vehicle has a port that receives power even when the vehicle is off. It’s very easy to connect your phone to it, has automatic crash detection, and all in all is an excellent dash cam. I’ve purchased two so far and will be buying more.
