I been using garmin dash cam for many years and now my old one quit I decided to go with garmin again it may not have all the bells and wistle but it did its job. Conitnue to work in extreme hot weather and i was able to pull the videos as a proof without any issues. I decided to install 2 dash cam this time one in the front and one in the back as the garmin software can sync both videos into one.

The dashcam is easy to set up and mount. The picture quality is great, but I would have prefered to just have a 140 degree view to reduce the distortion of the picture. My biggest complaint is the difficulty getting clips off of the camera. It will upload saved clips which is pretty straight forward but if you want to view unsaved clips the only way to easily get them off the camera is to remove the SDHC card and insert it into a computer. They can be uploaded to the vault but it is extremely slow and impractical for more than a few minutes of video. There needs to be a way to connect with a computer via wifi and then download directly.

i was looking for a dash cam that had a parking guard, could record incidents, and was small and practical and this was exactly that! i will admit i’m having a bit of trouble understanding the battery but i just got it out of the box ☺️
the app is great and easy to use and they have a helpful video on their youtube channel “Garmin” that’ll guide you through everything.

The micro SD card that coming with device is slow, which sometimes causes the device to turn on and off repeatedly. So you have to spend around $50 for micro SD. expected better quality. Furthermore, the voice command feature doesn’t work well.

Easy to set up and install. Videos are crystal clear. Only complaint is that it’s wi-fi connectivity and Apple air play seem to compete for priority with my phone so the Garmin app doesn’t work as well.

Any company can make a decent dash cam. I spent almost $300 on this one because I know how important the app is to be able to access videos and photos quickly in the event of an accident. I thought a big company like Garmin would have it figured out. I was very wrong. They’re are tons of issues with trying to RELIABLY connect to the camera to retrieve info from it. I was almost hit by a driver going the wrong way in the highway. Pulled over immediately and by the time I got the video to open and save to see what kind of vehicle it was the person had literally already been involved in a fatal accident further down the road.

I have 2 of them. Sometimes asking to insert a card or format it. Often can’t turn on/off when it’s stuck in the parking mode. Sticking pad works well. Quality is OK.
It’s not reliable.
Also I have a garmin GPS with camera, that works without problem.

So far its been a decent little dashcam, The only concern is it freezes sometimes in the countdown going to park mode. Twice this has done this. Gets very hot. Fortunately it has recovered after unplugging the device and letting it cool.
