Foward collision, lane departure, and traffic going are great features. I was surprised that the dashcam records the whole trip instead of parts of it

Ran over a tire lying on the road when driving on a highway late at night. Claim rep from insurance company decided it’s my fault. He argued I should have avoided the tire
And then I shared the video recorded by this tiny dashcam. The video was crystal clear even though it was very dark. The claims agent responded by reversing his earlier decision as he saw from the video that there was no way I could have avoided running over the tire.

For a less than $200 camera, dang it does a lot. Lane departure warnings, it warns me 500 feet in advance of red light cameras, automatically saves video in the event of an incident, you could teach a toddler to use it, doesn’t get any better than that. Garmin all the way

Dash cam is pretty reliable when it comes to recording events while driving and parked. It is good enough for me as it would be good enough quality for insurance purposes but unfortunately the quality is not good for seeing license plates clear most of the time. Overall it’s a pretty good product as it has a secret feature which detects a certain camera when crossing an intersection, it’s also super user friendly so it’s to use/ figure out. One last note, it is a far superior product comparing to Ring dash cam, has the more features than Ring, is cheaper and better built.

I’m having issues as some other owners. It keeps freezing / frozen / stuck either on the Garmin boot up or the “starting parking guard” notification.
It’s also giving me the format card error. I’ve swapped three different sd cards and they all have the same issues.
The cards are supposed to cycle or constantly loop, so it erases earlier video saves, but this dash cam says the card is full.
I have the Dashcam 57 in my other car and haven’t run into any issues, so it might be this particular model or I just got a lemon.
I’m going to take it back to the store and see if I can get it exchanged since it’s under warranty and I have BB Protection.

Dash cam is smaller than i initially thought, which I like since it makes it more descreet. So far it’s held up through incredibly cold weather, though I havent gotten the chance to see if it melts off the windshield with heat. Very easy to set up, the cam connected to my phone app pretty quick. It’s able to detect when you hit your brakes pretty hard and it will save the videos automatically. I haven’t run out of memory space yet either, so that’s not bad for a month in having it. Pretty good sound and video quality, but it does need a constant source of power if you want it to record while your car is parked, else you risk depleting your car battery. All in all, not bad.

Product is decent and works as needed. 1 star rating was for customer service at the white marsh md location. Item was purchased during off peak hours (weekday late morning) 2 registers working, 1st register was dealing with a problem customer and had been doing so since i stepped in line. i was next in line to checkout. 2nd cashier looks at line (3 people waiting behind me) then leaves register and proceeds to go talk with another employee. waited in line 15+ minutes until 2nd cashier gets another employee to take over register. will not shop there again

I gave 3 stars because I prefer to have ADAS System to work on low speed like 10 miles per hour and above. But currently it works on higher speed. I hope Garmin can fix or update the software. Garmin think about that forward collision and lane departure can happen in low speed.

Such an easy setup and it took less than 15 minutes to set the camera and app up. The camera alerts when you cross over a lane line, traffic moves, or when you get too close to the car in front of you. The camera also allows you to see traffic cameras. With a click of a button or with voice commands you can easily save a moment where something happened. I have captured car crashes and was able to quickly download the footage so both victims could have it for insurance. I love this camera so much, I ended up buying one for my dad for Christmas.

I purchased three of these dash cams in total because of the reliability. I have one that replaced the cobra sc200 in my wife’s vehicle, I have one mounted in my 2018 Dodge Ram, and I also have one installed in my work vehicle a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia. The Simplicity in use is great, the connectability to your cell phone is somewhat stable. The app is extremely easy to use and Records directly to the cloud if connected to your phone. The cameras were well worth the price.

There were no written instructions enclosed. So the person who we bought this for does not know how to use. I think you need to be mindful of people who have disabilities and do not have use of internet to look up how to use the camera

My second Garmin dashcam. At first it worked fine but today (1/16/24) I almost got into a car accident and immediately “saved” video. As soon as I parked, I went to review the footage only to find out that it haven’t been recoding for a while.
Contacted customer support and was told to do a master reset, which I did. Hasn’t sold the issue. Contacted CS again and was offered to exchange it for a new one for $99.
I am not sure if anyone else has this issue but I guess I have to try other brands out there.

Car was broken into and had Garmin Dash Cam 47 on with Parking Guard enabled.
Cops arrive and immediately ask for evidence leading to suspects, ready to call backup for other cops to follow tracking on stolen devices and match the getaway vehicle description.
I grab the dash cam, ready to review video, which had clear view of the direction of the getaway vehicle. When I see list of triggered incidents, NOTHING. My heart dropped.
Two smashed windows, three bags taken, in broad day light, thieves physically in the vehicle and this dash cam captured NOTHING.
Not worth the money for a device almost $100 more when compared to other devices that would deliver the same outcome.
NOTE: Settings were left at default, exactly how they were since bought, and when the cam was taken out of the box. If this was meant to work some other way, like with high sensitivity settings, Garmin does not think so since their default sensitivity settings are less than high for parking guard mode.
