Works better than other audio interfaces that I have tried. I’ve currently got it hooked up to a Cloud booster and a Shure Sm7b microphone as well as some Audio-Technica headphones. It is able to provide adequate power to the mic and to the headphones (the headphones I have are often underpowered when used with a standard headphone jack). The relationship between windows audio settings and the Wave XLR are a bit rough. I wanted to run it without downloading extra software. Doing so reset the volume, mic gain, and balance settings I used every time I restarted my PC. Even after downloading the software and playing with settings, it still never saves my mic input gain/volume properly and I have to manually adjust it with the dial. Overall, I would recommend this, especially over a Scarlett device, if you want something that just works as an interface for XLR to USB.

Got this for my boyfriend as a gift and he loves it! Perfect addition to a gaming set up.

Best product i have ever used i do really do recommend
MiguelP –
Excellent if you are looking for something similar and cheaper than a goxlr. I ended up buying a headset amp. So you might have to spend an extra 100$ if you have hig end headphones

For the price, I wish they added more ports like 2 combo xlr jacks. 1/4 for headphone output. The software can be buggy and I had to restart my computer to get audio. Wish it was a plug-and-play interface for just audio and mic use. Not enough power for headphones too.
MemphisK –
love this thing grate xlr interface for cheap easy to use and fast to set up
Gojogma –
Makes my mic sound a lot better. Love that you can add filters n stuff

I love Elgato’s products, and this is the same quality you’d expect from Elgato for their stream decks, their face cam, face cam pro, master mounts and lights. As for the average user this is probably a really great product that would suit you just fine. I got this as a potential replacement for the recently unsupported GoXLR (a moment of silence, may it rest in piece). This is not that. Like I said for the average streamer or person just wanting a better microphone on those zoom calls and all that, this is a great product that will suit your needs if you spend enough time researching how to use it with VSTs and all that. But if you’ve like me and trying to replace your GoXLR or GoXLR mini? You’ll be disappointed.

Great Device and easy to use with any XLR Mic. Easy Setup and software is simple

Does The Job. I needed it for my Shure MV7 and it works great. Very happy with the purchase.

Had to get this because I can’t use external software on my company laptop. I do a ton of zoom/teams calls, internal and external so a good mic goes a ling way. This Wave XLR was truly plug and play. No external software needed.
Taevon –
this is a great product from a great company. please let me see my family.

Very easy to use compared to every mixer. It may not be the best in audio, mixing, or anything in terms of audio, but it is definitely the best in keeping it simple and straightforward to use. In other words, you pay for ease of use, not quality.
JoshuaS –
Fantastic piece of equipment and easy to use. Just like all their equipment ive pbought over the years.

Well worth the money and does everything needed for a great sounding Mic.
High Recommend.

Vert simple to use. Excellent purchase with great customer service from this location.

For just casually talking, this is the only device you need for xlr mics. The ease of use is very user friendly and the software is a bit confusing but straightforward. Uses minimal space so you can place it anywhere. Overall very solid with a good price and quality.

First time owning a xlr mic. This pre amp is so amazing works super well with my streamdeck + as im am a full time streamer i love the easy setup and software is good too!
ClaudiaD –
The wave xlr is great has 3 modes you can change you can mute it from the back as well!
BrandinN –
Got it to replace my Go XLR as that is no longer supported works like a charm and with more channels, took a little to figure out the software but that is what youtube is for haha.
AJay –
It works fine but the app is hard to use. As well that it’s can’t work with my 250ohm headset which I thought it works.
Jerry –
This has substituted my GoXLR complete. Great product.

I was a little nervous going to this unit. Before going to this. I had a Behringer four-channel mixer that I use for streaming. I wasn’t sure if this device would do the things I had grown accustomed to using for my live streams.
While it did take a little bit to get set up and understand how the software works, I have to say I am 100% happy with this purchase and would recommend this to anybody who uses an XLR mic for their computer. Once I understood. However, thing works. I’ve had nothing but compliments on the quality of the sound in my content. Not only does it sound good, the footprint of it is really small and saves a bunch of desk space over a full-size mixer.

I am very happy with my wave XLR for game couldn’t be better
Robb –
It’s really a good tool even if u don’t stream it’s a great pick up for sure
juvie –
works great and adds clean gain with enough db for my shure sm7b. dont bother with the solo + cloudlifter combo jusr grab this tbh
StevieJ –
Awesome couldn’t ask for a better device!!!!!!!!!!!!
MacS –
Works exactly as expected, provides a simple and compact XLR interface, and getting access to Wave Link is the cherry on top. Would probably reposition the mute button if I could, as it’l means you can’t put it under a desk shelf and still use it, but not a deal breaker or anything.
Spenser –
This mixer is an excellent starting point for anyone looking to get into streaming or for more control over their system sounds. The razer software is also super easy to use and setup. Would HIGHLY recommend.

This thing is amazing. Helps so much. Worth it so get it
Cozar –
Not quite what I was looking for if you are on budget and don’t mind not having actual physical buttons this is for u. Everything is pretty much setup via software (ELGATO)
JulianP –
Great audio interface with a lot of features inside the software
Cowolby –
Amazing mixer and was extremely easy to setup, basically just pug and play
BigMuh –
Bad pre amps. Claims about 60db of gain, but the higher you turn up the gain the more self noise is introduced. With no mic attached the device still puts out a ton of noise.
Israpena –
Love it very convient for my elgato mic and the volume for my headset
Orion –
This interface works great, and the accompanying wavelink software is super useful. Being able to split audio tracks with a virtual cable is usually a relatively challenging thing to set up, but the included software does it all for you.

This review will encompass the Elgato Wave DX dynamic mic, the Elgato XLR, the XLR microphone cable, and Elgato’s Wave Link software as they all work together as a complete solution.
When I started streaming a year ago, I went with the Elgato Wave 3 condenser mic because it was a very cost-effective option and it gave me access to their Wave Link digital mixing software. As I became more experienced in streaming and audio configuration, I upgraded to the XLR system using the Wave DX dynamic microphone. You can do your own research regarding the differences between condenser mics and dynamic mics, but in a nutshell the dynamic mic produces better audio, but requires amplification and mixing through a physical hardware device (enter the Wave XLR). Dynamic mics also work better in environments where you don’t want the mic to pickup background noise, which is the reason why virtually every professional podcaster and radio stations exclusively use them.
As a whole, the Elgato ecosystem with the Wave DX, Wave XLR, XLR mic cable, and Wave Link software is a great option for people looking for professional quality audio without spending two or three times more for other brands.

Awesome and really easy to use! I recommend anyone to use it as well as any other elgato products!
Chisper44 –
Simple and easy to use but has everything you need it’s awesome!
MarioL –
Returned this item. Realized it is also a microphone like Wave 3.
BobbyBoucher –
Very easy to use and set-up! I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for something thats simple and effective!
Adeitysrage –
This works great as a cheaper solution for an XLR mic if you dont want to apend 4 or 500 dollars on a mixer. The software elgato has that comes with it isnt the most intuitive, but once you figure it out its basically like having a small mixer. Also, to mute it…tap the back. Took me a min to figure this out lol.
LarryM –
The software capabilities are amazing! This device packs a lot in its product. I had a focusrite 2i2 and I can honestly say the software package of the Wave Xlr, is leaps and bounds better and more advanced then what came with the focusrite.
Kaitlynn –
It worked very well for what I needed it to do! It’s very good quality!
mybbreviews –
I use the Elgato Wave XLR daily with my Shure SM7B, and it’s been an absolute gem for my audio setup. With up to 75 dB of gain, this compact interface easily powers even the most demanding microphones.
The capacitive mute button is a handy feature, and the integration with Wave Link software makes my mixing tasks a breeze.
It’s become an essential part of my setup, and I couldn’t be happier with it. Solid 5 stars!
Levfo –
Works great. I used it to use my shure SM7B on my PC. Headphone output sounds great as well. Love the tap to mute feature.
Justin –
Makes life easy with the software. Works fine as a mic pre amp. You might wanna get a seperate headphone amp
SpencerM –
Huge bang for your buck with this interface. Easy to set up, fantastic software and plugins. Using with the Shure SM7B without a cloudlifter.
DavidR –
Great for starting out streaming and very easy to use and learn
Ching684 –
Everything works fine but I wish it had more inputs and a headphone jack in the front for better cable management. It take some time to get use to the software compared to hardware audio interface but the functionally of controlling your mic and stream mix aka submit is next level. Also splitting audio up to 7 channels on one device is pretty nuts for $150 device. Most other xlr streaming/audio device is $250-$500, Elgato wave xlr is much more affordable option and the library of VST is a major bonus. Well really well with other Elgato products to create your own ecosystem.
