I ordered a pair of these along with a webcam and Elgato green screen. Now I am a Zoom legend with amazing backgrounds and superb lighting. I hope my bosses love me now.

At first the suggested retail price may offset people from buying. You get what you pay for. You can easily set the brightness and temperature of the light. Also the multimount it comes with can be used with different devices if you are not in need of using the light.
Would buy it again when my budget and needs warrant it.

The light is what I need it. While it can be used professionally, any newbie like me can enjoy it without all the hassle of lighting knowledge. It allows you to change settings the way you see it and ready to without getting getting up. Set up was quick and easy.

Picked this up as I’ve taken up streaming as a hobby in recent years and was wanting to add some light to my space and stream camera to make things look a bit better.
It has a very high quality build to it, emits some crazy good light that’s customizable from warm to more white bright, and was easy to install.
You might have to configure it with your phone if you don’t have a wi-fi card on a desktop pc, but if you got wi-fi on your desktop/laptop it’s really easy to get it going.
Great option! Wish it was a bit cheaper but no regrets!

Expensive light, gives off very little heat, but the light is worth it.

I added a couple of these to my home office setup to improve the “production value” of my setup for all the video conferencing with clients, friends, and family via Zoom, WebEx, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams. I use a green screen and virtual backgrounds to have a more professional appearance on camera and these lights made a HUGE difference in the quality of both the virtual background and myself when viewing the output of the camera.

I gave it a 3 star because the app that controls it on my PC never wants to stay connected. I have 2 other friends with the same issue. The Elgato support staff is amazing but they couldn’t solve the issue. They wanted me to return it for a new one but I feel it would still have the same problem and that just seems like a hassle to go through.
To still use the light i have to click the app, quickly turn on the light and adjust the settings before the app vanishes. If it vanishes i have to force shut down the app, wait a few minutes and relaunch it. Then adjust the settings again. Super tedious.
After further googling, you can purchase similar lighting for much cheaper without the Elgato name or an app to go with it.
The quality of the light itself though is superb.

Such a good light it’s awesome for streaming and just recording yourself in general

Fantastic item with a high build quality and easy to use software. Have no regrets buying it. It also gets very bright, I have always had to dial it down some.

Very nice and clean light output. Surprised with how much light this gives off. No need to set it on max. 20% is more than enough for me, but would def prefer this over the smaller key light due to it’s ability to fill in shadows more efficiently. App is simple to use, and i found that the lighting temp adjustment is accurate so i’m able to match the lighting temp with my philips hue lights.

Helped out with my lighting issues now everything is crystal clear

My son uses it for streaming. He said it works good to light up his face.

This product is fantastic. It has made such a huge upgrade with the lighting in my streams.

Needed light in my room for when I stream and this light is perfect. Not too bright, not too dim. Easy to set up.

Great Light for video and still shots. I highly recommend.

I wanted to get a key light to sit above and behind my webcam to get better lighting for my never-ending video calls at work. This light is great. It takes a few minutes to set up and it was a little strange to do it over wifi through the Apple Airport utility app, but once it connected the first time, it’s been flawless to use since.
The companion app on the Mac nakes it easy to adjust the light intensity. I never go above 10%. It’s super bright.

What a difference this light made I’m glad I bought it this light helps a lot with my green screen they say to use two of these to not have shadows but one works fine for me even better I can turn it on and off with my stream deck

It’s bright! Does the job as advertised. Easy to set up. Literally makes any dark room light up more than a Colgate smile
Elgetit –
Amazing key light with adjustable color temperature that’s made convenient with the app on my phone.
Looking to get another!

Despite the costly entry to this key light, it was well worth the $200 ish or whatever it’s going for nowadays. A Master mount arm by itself is going for $40 so you can deduct that from the separate cost and the key light is essentially $160. I ended up purchasing this product over the Logitech Litra Glow light which was only $60.
The cons: – Doesn’t come with physical buttons to control brightness or temperature color.
– Not compact or portable, especially once it’s mounted on the arm.
– Initial setup is through 2.4ghz wifi NOT 5ghz band. If you’re not used to messing with your wifi settings, this light will drive you crazy when you’re setting it up. The key is to basically turn off the 5ghz band in your router settings (Look on the side for a 192. IP address to enter into your browser and enter into the settings menu) and after the setup is complete, turn it back on.
– No physical cable to connect to your PC to avoid the wifi setup like the Litra Glow.
If these are dealbreakers, check out Logitech’s Litra Glow and Beam for compact, physical connection devices with physical buttons.
Pros: – Bright! I only use it at around 30% for the perfect lighting. If you needed to light up an entire bedroom or something further away from your desk, you have a whole 70% left to do that.
– No heat spot on a small part of your face or item you’re lighting up. Since it’s a bigger light than the smaller Litra Glow, the light is spread nicer over a large area making it look more natural.
– Can be paired with a Stream Deck for some amazing settings and quick setup profiles, even if you’re not a streamer, the Stream Deck is a great productivity device.
Overall, pricey light but well worth the cost when you consider that it pairs so well with El Gato’s Stream Deck. I guess you do have to pay extra to get physical buttons so I hope that’s an update on future Key Light models and a physical cable connection would be nice too.

Great bright lights, works perfectly while filming
DoPa –
Elgato lights are fantastic for streaming, with so many options for adjusting temperature, angle, and brightness. A great addition to any desk setup.

Doesn’t work at all. Won’t even turn on. The other one works fine though.
Jorge –
these are fantastic. super bright, and professional. They make skin tone look smith instead of a circle/ring light that over exposes.
David –
My streaming quality is now amazing. This little guy lights up my entire office and really highlights all of my facial features, creating a pleasant stream setting. Thank you elgato!
Unknown –
Love these for streaming! However hard to have them both show up in the app to remotly turn on and off. Only complaint. They work well with the stream deck and foot pedals

I purchased this light at $150 on sale and at that price, I do think it is a good value given the intended use case. It provides decent light that is decently soft and gets plenty bright enough for it’s intended use. It’s easy to set up and it integrates well with Elgato’s streaming devices platform. I really have no major complaints, but I do think it is worth comparing to the competition to determine if it makes sense for you.
Price wise, you could purchase an Amaran P60x with some sort of desk mount for around the same price or a little less depending on which is on sale. These are probably the two to compare, I think, as they are very similar but can serve very different needs. With the Elgato, the primary advantage is convenience. You get everything you need in the box, it’s thin, quiet, and generally unobtrusive, and it integrates seamlessly with the Stream Deck. It is the perfect choice for a streamer who is just going to be sitting at their desk. However, once you get away from a desk setup, it’s really not very useful as the included stand is only for desks and it requires wifi (and the Control Center app) to work at all. Also, and this seems to be a problem with all Elgato lights, if your power goes out, when it comes back on, the light will flash on for a moment before turning back off. If you have this in your bedroom and that happens in the middle of the night… yikes. It also means you can’t just plug it in to a switch-controlled outlet like you can with studio lights.
By contrast, the Amaran is a little thicker (especially when using the soft box, which you should), much heavier, uses a bulky power supply, and does not integrate with the Elgato ecosystem at all (although they do have their own app). However, the light it produces is more accurate and will better match other professional lights, it doesn’t require wifi to work, it can run on batteries, and it gets much, much brighter. For anything other than a desk-based setup, this is the obvious choice, but it will also work just fine as a desk light. You could even plug it into a smart plug and turn it on and off that way if you wanted a more automated workflow.
Ultimately, the choice depends on your needs. I chose this because of the convenience features mentioned above and I am very happy with the purchase. However, I do think it’s far more competitive at $150 than it’s usual $200 price and I would recommend waiting for a sale.
Also, when I first purchased the light, the end cap that holds the handle of the desk mount in place was broken. I exchanged it and the new one is fine, though I did have to tighten a few bolts. No big deal, just thought that was worth mentioning.

Got it on sale and now looking for a second one. Extremely easy to set up and connect to steam deck. Entire process took less than 10 minutes and I was up and running. The light gets incredibly bright and is super responsive.
Price will be a concern but if you are looking at it you probably know to expect.

It’s a great product only issue is the wifi signal not being 5g compatible and always reverting to the 2.4 ghz band

Great part of the elgato ecosystem. Having this mounted on my monitor mount, controlled through my stream deck has made using this a breeze.
Keisha –
Love this light as it provides great lighting for all my meetings
Stina –
The ease and use of this light is amazing. Somehow it is so bright but never casts a shadow on your face. Makes my cam look even better, which i didnt know was possible. Love that it clamps on the desk and i can control it from my phone.
JMSSr –
What can I say? They’re the streamers’ standard for a reason. Bright, efficient, adjustable light. Setup is a breeze via the app (phone or computer, your choice).
Plenty of ways to control them for your particular setup, whether you use your phone, computer or even a stream deck (PC app required for stream deck integration).

It’s really nice light, easy to set up and the app works perfectly
