OK! I took the plunge and purchased the Electrolux Washer EWFLS70JRR. I had done so much research into washing machines that I was driving myself CRAZY! I mean, every time I thought I knew which washer to purchase, I would read mixed reviews! I joined Consumer Reports.org but that didn’t help at all, because I absolutely HATED the washer they had as TOP RATED!! I seriously cannot stress enough how frustrating it was each time I used the Kenmore washing machine (my boyfriend owned it)! It tangled my clothes and did not extract enough water if I used the delicate cycle. It also took forever for the matching dryer to dry my clothes! But I digress! Back to the Electrolux EWFLS70J (RR = Red Hot Red).
WOW!! While I had promised myself that I would wait a month or two before posting a review of this product, I honestly feel compelled to write about the innovation, efficiency, simplicity, beauty and absolute wonder of this product! Before owning this washer and dryer I owned the Maytag Neptune washer and dryer, which was a good set; but it absolutely cannot hold a candle to this dynamic duo! My Maytag Neptune set was 6 years old, so technology has significantly advanced… but I never… in my life… thought I would LOVE to do laundry! YES!! I went from absolutely HATING doing laundry to LOVING it… literally overnight!!
The Electrolux washer has FAR exceeded my expectations. To begin with, I first did a fast 15 minute wash for my pajamas and undergarments… my clothes came out FABULOUS! In 15 minutes! Unheard of! Wonderful! The dry time needed a bit longer (a total of 26 minutes) as opposed to the 18 minutes it originally set for… but still!! 26 minutes to dry a load of laundry?! I’m EXTREMELY happy with that! Additionally, NO wrinkles at all! They looked like they were steamed, but I didn’t use the steam option.
Afterwards, I loaded the washer with … are you ready for this?… 6 bath towels, 1 bath sheet towel (it’s tremendous), 8 hand towels, 2 bath mats (small towels, a little thicker than regular towels), and 5 wash cloths. This load was NO problem for the 5.1 cu. ft. capacity washer; and it did a fantastic job on my towels. The spin cycle is SUPER fast with MINIMUM vibration and sound! This wash cycle REALLY blew me away! Oh, and one more thing that I absolutely LOVE about this washer… as most front load washer owners know… many times, the front load washer doesn’t add enough water; sometimes the clothes don’t seem like they get wet enough, or suds are left in the clothes and need an extra rinse. Well, at the touch of a button this washer adds more water!! FANTASTIC!! Additionally, it’s easy to use! My delivery men must have taken out the user guide manual with the cardboard box, so I didn’t have it… but the machine is self explanatory and so easy to use! I am NOT technologically inclined, and was very worried, but it’s so easy to use, my mind was almost immediately put at ease when I realized I could actually work this high tech piece of machinery! Still, I contacted Electrolux and they’re sending out a user manual as well as a DVD (because they know most people don’t read their manuals, they created a DVD that shows you what the washer does and how to work it).
So far, this washer and dryer are absolutely FABULOUS! Worth EVERY penny and then some! They cut laundry time in LESS than half!! UNBELIEVABLE, but TRUE!! Seriously, I don’t believe I actually LOVE to do laundry! I can’t wait to use the steam cycle on the washer to pre-treat heavy stains or the steam option on the dryer to take out wrinkles. I can’t wait to use the pet bed cycle for my Pomeranians’ beds! Tomorrow I’m going to change my sheets and use the sanitize cycle that kills 99.9% of bacteria!! OMG!! I AM IN LOVE with a Washing Machine!!! LOL!
Oh, one thing that I’d like to strongly recommend… If you can, DO buy the optional pedestals for each unit. I put my washer and dryer in a tiny, cubby hole of a closet; so obviously, they’re stacked. I urge you to put the set side by side because the only thing I don’t love about my washer is the fact that I have to bend so low to take the clothes out. I wish I were able to purchase the pedestals for the machines, but I just didn’t have the room. If I had the units side by side on their pedestals, they would be PERFECT! Alas, Electrolux cannot do anything about the design (or lack thereof) of my apartment!
I cannot recommend this washer and dryer enough. They’re simply AMAZING!!

This washing machine is the best machine EVER!! I absolutely love it. It is quiet and it cleans my clothes with so little water. Before I had this, my old machine would fill up my sink with dirty water when it drained, because my drain is slow. Now, this machine does not do that, because it uses very little water. I LOVE the sanitize feature. I have used this on an old blanket that was left in my husband’s pickup bed only to get rained on and mildewed. After washing it using the sanitize feature, it smells great again! This is also so easy to use, my husband and children can use it. AND it makes little or no noise at all. AMAZING!!! I also like the fact that you can wash a load in 15 minutes if you are in a hurry. The crew that came and installed it was also fantastic. I am so glad I bought this from BEST BUY. Top notch service! They really helped me pick the perfect machine.
