Digipower – The Instructor – 8.5″ Tripod Professional Video Kit -Work, Teach & Learn from Home – Black. with micro phone and wireless shutter. I love it. The picture does not represent what I have. It is only a tri-pod.

GOOD
– Light is very bright and versatile
– Sturdy tripod with both threaded mount and phone clip
– Mic has very long cable
BAD
– Tripod has minimal height adjustment range and will have problems with some phones with side buttons
– Clamp mouth too small for 7″ tablets
– Mic has no discrimination / noise cancelling. Easily picks up noise across the room
– Remote shutter has limited functionality
– Light battery life not as good as advertised.
TL/DR
The Instructor is a good enough kit for people wanting to get just the basics for better than average video conferencing and recording in a single purchase. But anyone wanting good, dedicated video or streaming will be disappointed.
DETAILS
The star of the show here is the light. It’s very bright for it’s size, the battery is rechargeable, it has a slide on diffuser, it’s threaded for standard camera mounts, and it can be adjusted for brightness and color temperature. However, it can only go between white and orange soft light, nothing in the blue space, so you can’t use it as a corrective light if your room has a lot of incandescents. Also, the battery remaining indicator on the back is overly optimistic. At lower intensities, you can easily get more than a few hours. I got about six hours of use at 2% brightness, no where near the eight it estimated. But not bad overall.
The rest of the kit has a somewhat cheap feel to it, as if it was designed to be halfway high-quality, but not really. The mic is handy and has a generous cable length, and comes with a 4-pole to 3-pole adapter. But it picks up a lot of background noise. You also get a Bluetooth shutter release control, so you can start and stop your videos without touching your phone. Except it’s basically just a Bluetooth keyboard with only a Volume Up key. The fob has an Anrdoid and iPhone button, but they both work on both phone types and they both send the same keystroke, so I’m not sure why it needs two buttons. This also means for the remote to work, your phone has to be set to use the volume button as the shutter release. If they were going to make a multi button remote, why not use three buttons with three different keystrokes so you could control shutter and zoom?
The tripod is very sturdy, it folds up to be very sleek, and the legs extend to adjust the height. The legs are set wide, which improves stability, but also takes up lots of desk space. It also means an almost pointless height adjustment of 6.75″ – 8″ ( not the 6.5″ – 8.5″ the package claims ). The mount up top has a normal threaded connector for cameras, and it can flip open as a spring clamp for phones. When open in the clamp, the top portion has a camera shoe fitting so you can add your own light source, or use the included adapter to use the kit’s LED. The spring-loaded jaws are quite strong ( it’s easy to accidentally pull the top part off by accident ) and open up to just under 3.5″ inches. They’re more than big enough for any phone, but I couldn’t fit any of my 7″ tablets. Also the clamp mount isn’t friendly with phones that have side buttons in the middle of the frame.
Overall I think this is worth the price of admission, but only just. The rechargeable light is incredibly useful, and most of the rest of the kit will likely be adequate for a beginner’s needs, or someone on a tight budget, as long as they don’t expect too much.

The Digipower Instructor – 8.5″ Tripod Professional Video Kit has all the pieces you need for a basic podcasting or video-conferencing setup.
• A short tripod (made to rest on a table or desk) that holds your phone and the included LED light.
• A lavalier mic and clip that is simple and easy to use.
– Note: If you do not have a mini-audio connection on your phone, you’ll need an adapter.
• A Bluetooth ‘clicker’ to start and stop your phone’s recording.
However, before buying, you should give thought to whether or not this package will actually meet your needs.
• If you plan to do your videos from a desk or table, this will work.
– Note: Unless you’ve got an unusually high table or workspace, you will need something to put the tripod on in order to avoid the ‘up-your-nose’ look.
• If you plan to do your videos from a variety of settings that may or may not have appropriate surfaces available to hold the tripod, then you should opt for a solution that uses a full-sized tripod.
This may – or may not – be a good solution for you.

Great for video blogging, WFM, selfies, action camera use, etc.
Super easy to setup.
A lot of mounting options. Compression type for cellphones and screw mount for other video devices.. tripod easy to use.
Easy to adjust.
Nice feel.
Lighting is nice. Warning it is super bright. I had to pull it down to the min even with filter on. Only suggestion to manufacturer is the increase the filter as it can be blinding if you are filming yourself and look at the light accidentally. Other than that the light has a lot of controls and lasts super long.
Would highly recommend it this product for what it says it does. Nice job.

The Digipower Instructor video kit has been a useful tool for me. I like to make videos for blogs that I do on various forms of social media. Being able to have a sturdy tripod that stands at 8.5″ allows me to place it securely on my desk or countertop.
The provided items that come included are a clip on omnidirectional microphone which has helped improve my audio clarity when speaking. Since I have an iPhone XR I utilized my lightning adapter to connect this to my phone. Also I’m impressed with the LED light this comes with. 112 Bi-color LED light goes from a yellow tint to a bright white light. You’ll get 24 different brightness settings and 25 color temperature settings. The digital LCD control panel display shows your color temperature and your lighting control setting, along with the estimated battery life time. You’ll also get a remote that comes with this that connects via bluetooth allowing for you to control the camera and video. My iPhone XR with a case on it fits well into the tripod and it holds my phone securely.
Overall I’m pleased with this Digipower Instructor video kit for it’s functionality and simplicity. I can take it with me on the go and vlog with the comfortable handle/grip. I am also able to use it in my indoor settings and ensure that I have a great lighting situation with the LED lights, and great audio clarity with the wired microphone. Helpful investment for someone like myself looking to do more videos on social media or for work/school scenarios.

If you’re a creator, a teacher, someone who has to be in meetings via video, this is the right product for you. I’m actually astounded at how well everything worked. It was super easy to set up, very easy to use. I could not be happier at this point.
The light itself is great, number one, super bright. Number two, it comes with a protective cover for when it’s not in use. The microphone, super easy to set up, easy to plug in, and start your creation. The tripod was super easy to use with my phone, and it’s easy to use with a camera. Overall I’m very happy with it.

This kit was the perfect setup for recording video for a class. When I first unboxed this I was a little skeptical that there seemed to be a lot of black plastic, but it seems to be holding up well. The light is nice and bright and had a decent-sized built-in battery. An included diffuser went on right away and helps to soften the cast light alongside the different color temperature and brightness settings, which were a surprising touch. The light could have been a ring light, but also a ring light would take up more space and be more cumbersome to store. The hot-shoe mount adapter also makes this kit more versatile if you want to pair it with a DSLR camera. The tabletop tripod’s legs extend to push a phone up to almost 9-inches above a surface, and the spring mechanism holds a phone well, even if it does feel like any generic selfie stick phone holder. I liked that the tripod has an adjustable ball head, but I worry that will start to droop over time. It does pack down nice and compact. The microphone with a lavalier clip and Bluetooth remote round out this setup. It’s amazing how much improvement these add ons bring to a video capture.

The Digipower Instructor is the best portable Zoom setup I have used. Digipower calls it a “Professional Video Kit” and I believe them. The build quality is superb. The 8.5″ trip is top quality, metal, and (see photos) has notches so you can lock each leg of the tripod independently. This is GREAT when you are setting up your phone/camera on an uneven surface. The tripod has a ball joint mechanism, so your phone can be set up in horizontal or vertical (see photos).
The light attaches with a camera shoe adapter (included). So the light can double as an always-on flash on a standard camera. Digipower has really thought ahead on the light. There’s a small screen that shows you the remaining battery, color temperature, and brightness. At peak brightness and temperature, the light is blindingly bright. In my recording tests, I kept the intensity at 1% and always used the (included) diffuser. Honestly, the light is just so good it puts those ring lights everyone else uses to shame. I like that the display also lets you know the remaining battery life. FYI, the light is rechargeable using USB.
Included is a clip-on omnidirectional wired microphone. The quality is very good. To use it with iOS you will need to use an adapter (not included). It’s worth using the microphone if you’re recording a lesson, etc. as the audio quality is superior although you probably don’t want to use the microphone for Zoom calls.
Also included is a shutter remote that pairs to either iOS or Android devices. It’s a small battery-powered Bluetooth key ring size dongle. It’s nice to have but not really necessary.
Overall. It’s very impressive. Digipower has really put together a professional quality package. If you need a portable setup for recording videos with everything you need, you can’t go wrong. Recommended.

The Digipower Video Kit has quite a few accessories. The tripod stand is sturdy and the legs can easily be extended to make it taller. It also included a lavalier mic and Bluetooth remote. The LED light is bright and it’s brightness can be adjusted. The back of the LED light displays the brightness and battery level. The buttons on the LED light do not always function properly. The buttons are spring loaded. When you press them they’re supposed to pop back up. They don’t always pop up. Instead they stay down, and don’t pop up right away. When I press the power button to change the light settings, by staying down it thinks I’m trying to power off the light. So instead of switching to a different lighting mode, it cuts off. This is something that needs to be addressed.

The Digipower “Instructor” tripod kit consists of a tripod, light, and lavalier microphone – all the must-have accessories for today’s digital creators.
I do both online meetings as well as my content (most of my content is focused on my hands and showing a craft). For the online meetings, this set up gets a 3/5 from me; for content creation not directly looking in to the camera, solid 5/5. I’ll explain below in the cons.
Pros:
– Well thought-out design
– Nice extendable legs for the perfect seating
– Spring-loaded phone holder works very, very well and keeps devices in place
– Feels sturdy and stable
– Microphone has excellent clarity upon playback (*note you will need an adapter for an iPhone or other device does that not have a 3.5mm plug input)
– The shutter remote – in theory – is great, but I much prefer to edit my videos after-the-fact rather than trying to remote control in the moment.
Cons – just one, and its a complicated one:
– The light. It’s just simply so bright, it’s almost blinding. Even set on the lowest setting (1%), I felt it was too bright for a Microsoft Teams or Zoom meeting. Regardless of setting and placement, I couldn’t find a comfortable location for the light; also reflects badly on glasses – something I don’t experience with a ring-shaped light.
– On the other hand, for non-facing camera use (focused on hands for craft, etc.) the light is good. So it’s a pro and a con at the same time.
So, overall, I would give the “Instructor” set up a solid 4/5. For meetings – maybe there’s a way to make the light a little bit less harsh and bright. For content creation — and anecdotally for other tasks needing a very bright light – this is a great set up. I used the light with an iPhone to record a video of replacing a couple of light switches with new smart switches – that turned out beautifully.
I would recommend this product, especially if you are a beginner. For what you get, it’s a great overall value.

This is a great kit for those on the go that need to do Zoom meetings from their phones. Setup is super easy. Beware though, the light can be exceedingly bright.
This works well for streaming and vlogging. Might not be the best for creating tik toks. The tripod is stable, does not shake easily and holds the phone securely. The legs fold together to make a short selfie stick as well. The omnidirectional microphone has great clarity, my only complaint is that it’s wired. A wireless one would have been better in this kit.
All in all, if you like to do vlogging or streaming, this could be a good addition to your equipment.

Adds the right color and brightness to my video projects and meetings.
Adjusting the color of the LED lamp only requires a push of a button, from 3100 Kelvin (warm) to 5500 Kelvin (almost sunlight). So too, is the brightness of 112 LEDs. Can be used with or without the snap on diffuser.
The tripod is a sturdy accessory for mounting the lamp and your camera or cellphone. Also included is a hi grade lapel microphone. Too often we watch video chats with poor lighting and strange shadows. The adjustable tripod puts the light where you need it and keeps it there for 16 hours thanks the the rechargeable built in batter.

DIGIPOWER – THE INSTRUCTOR – 8.5″ TRIPOD PROFESSIONAL VIDEO KIT -WORK, TEACH & LEARN FROM HOME – BLACK
MODEL:DP-VLX100
Best Buy Tech Insider Network
FANTASTIC LIGHT KIT FOR PHONE CAMERA WEBCAM ZOOM VLOG
The star of this show is the DIGIPOWER light unit. First, you can adjust the temperature between 3100 and 5500 Kelvin (yellow to pure white). Next, you can adjust the brightness output from barely there to “land a plane” levels of brightness. Finally, all these settings are easily changed from the built in display on the back.
I’ve used several budget similar lights and none can hold a candle to the DIGIPOWER (pun intended)
The additional accessories (tripod, remote control, lapel mic) included in the DIGIPOWER – THE INSTRUCTOR are the icing on the proverbial cake.
PRO’s
– Amazing Light
– Included Tripod can be used with a phone or camera
– Long Cord on MIC
– Remote Control
SETUP and USAGE
Everything in the DIGIPOWER – THE INSTRUCTOR was well packaged and seems to be of reasonable quality. It was easy to test and setup everything without the instructions. To pair the remote to your phone, just go into settings and add it like any other device (it shows as a keyboard on my android). You do have to stretch the phone bracket pretty hard to fit in a medium or larger phone, but it is very secure. I was easily able to use the tripod, light, and mic to record some short videos and even take still pictures. I enjoy the longer cord to allow me to stand up while recording. The mic does a good job overall.
The clip on the lapel mic does not quickly spring back into shape, so it keeps falling off my collar unless I wait a few seconds before letting go. I assume it will correct itself over time. The light takes a little force to attach to the stand, and is very secure.
RECCOMENDATION
The DIGIPOWER light is fantastic (did I mention that), THE INSTRUCTOR accessories are good for every day video use. The tripod is a versatile desktop unit. The phone/camera mounts is simple and sturdy. I can recommend DIGIPOWER – THE INSTRUCTOR for person vloggers, creating instructional videos, and anyone who just wants some better lighting for videos, photos, and web conferences. I will be using the kit for my daily calls at work where I can never get the lighting just right.

The Digipower “Instructor” video kit combines several quality accessories into a complete package for using your phone (or a tripod mounted camera) to stream or present in video meetings. Two highlights for the set are the amazing LED fill light, as well as the desktop tripod itself which is capable of holding a mobile phone or a camera. It also includes a lavalier mic (with a very long cord) and a bluetooth remote control for snapping pictures or starting/stopping video recording.
I found the desktop tripod to be a great product with tons of adjustability to get my phone centered on my face at different angles. It has an easy to adjust mechanism for extending the legs which allows you to get the camera to eye level on many desks. Likewise, attaching your phone is super easy and you get even more adjustments to set the angle of your phone at the top of the tripod.
The LED light is amazing – it has a built in battery that lasts for hours at low settings, or ~35 minutes at the brightest settings. It also has color temperature adjustment to warmer or cooler light. The brightness at full brightness is … glaring :). It’s also fairly pocketable if you want to carry it with you as a ludicrous handheld floodlight.
The other included accessories are the remote and the clip-on lavalier microphone. I found the mic a little underwhelming when connected through my USB-C adapter for my Note 20 Ultra. There was some static when the cable moved. It does give you the ability to stand back quite a bit from your phone, however. The bluetooth remote to control your phone’s shutter worked perfectly for both photos and video on my Note 20, as well. It’s small enough that I might start keeping it in my pocket for easier selfies when out with my family 🙂
As a complete package, all of these components make it really easy to join a Teams or Zoom meeting and out-class your colleagues! Definitely worth a look.

Doing meetings and classes from home has been the “norm” for the past year-and-a-half. What I’ve noticed was despite being in a well lit rooms I still come off a little dark. Now with this Digipower, the lighting has been fixed and the accompanying mic set up has made video meetings a better experience.
In the box, you have the tripod, microphone, wireless shutter remote, and LED light. Set up is pretty simple as the phone holder on top of the tripod folds upward with adjustable clamp to hold it in place. The LED light slides on top of that. The tripod legs can adjust from 6.5” to another 2”. The mount can be adjusted further though the ball movement for easy swivels. My only issue is the screw cover right in front of the phone can easily be lost as I fear that my phone, if not properly clamped may fall and land on that screw.
The 112 LED light gives you a nice bright fixture to enhance your video quality. Per their website, the 1500mAh Li-Poly battery provides you up to 16 hours of battery life. I’ve used it for my morning rounds on the lowest brightness for 1 hour for the past 2 weeks and so far I priced about half the battery life left. On the back of the light you have the settings screen where you can adjust brightness and color temperatures, and view the battery life. The the right side is the Power ON/OFF button that can also double as the color mode and brightness level switch. Below that are the increase and decrease buttons.
The included microphone has been a good addition to my video/sound quality. The windscreen helps minimize background noise and sounds as I do video calls either at home or when at home with the kids and dog being loud.
Overall, this has been a great addition and enhancing experience to my video calls.

The Digipower Instructor, Video call kit, is a cool piece of tech for anyone that wants to add a professional feel to their videos. The Kit included a tripod, Bluetooth remote, wired 9 1/2 Ft. microphone, and a rechargeable studio light. All the components are well built and are made of premium feeling materials.
The tripod is very sturdy and has two 1/4 inch threaded screws for securing your camera and the studio light.in my use it easily held my Pixel phone, iPhone and GoPro.
The microphone also works great. I tested it 2 feet away from me and then at 6 feet while clipped onto my shirt. In both circumstances it made my voice sound a million times better than the built-in mic on my phone. However, it did pick up a lot of ambient noise, so make sure you are in a quiet room when using it
The Bluetooth shutter button was a handy tool for starting and stopping video. It easily paired with my phone but unfortunately, did not work with my Gopro.
As for the studio light, it is the best part of this kit. It has a 1500 mAh battery that lasts anywhere between one to nine hours, the color temperature is adjustable and even in its lowest setting it is still very bright.
Overall this is an excellent kit and I recommend it to anyone that wants to create more professional looking videos.

Pro:
-Good LED light pack
-Battery life
-Sturdy tripod
-Can be used with other camera with standard mount
Con:
-Diffuser doesn’t help much
-Can’t do portrait mode
-Light won’t stay upright without phone
-Mic hiss
The tripod is nice and sturdy and has the standard screw mount to be used with other cameras. The top can fold up for landscape phone clamping with the light attaching on top. It’s a ball joint so it can rotate 360 and tilt 90 degrees. While it can tilt sideways to be able to hold a phone vertically, the tripod will not support the weight of the phone with the light in this configuration. The light will also not stay upright without a phone in the clamp.
The LED light pack is the stand out. It’s bright and the intensity and temperature can be adjusted with the small screen on the back. The battery can last from 30 mins to 2 hours, depending on the intensity. It’s rechargeable via micro USB cable. The diffuser doesn’t do much to soften the light. It sits right on top of the LED strips so the hot spots still shine through and are uncomfortable on the eyes. Just a bit of a gap would have improved it.
The included mic will work in a pinch, but there is hissing and doesn’t sound that great.
The shutter remote is bluetooth and was able to connect with my iPhone without a problem. It feels a bit cheap but works fine.

After this last school year being a hybrid of face-to-face and virtual, I knew I was going to need to level up my virtual setup. I didn’t really want something bulky as I wanted to keep it portable to take it back and forth between my classroom and home. This little guy fills that need perfectly.
Essentially you are getting a very sturdy and well built tripod, with a cell phone holder, a customizable light, remote, and wired mic. I have been using this on my iPhone so haven’t used the microphone, but the built-in iPhone mics have done a great job so far. The tripod is very steady and has some great mobility to get the right angle. It also allows a short extension to make the tripod a little taller.
The cellphone holder was wide enough to hold my iPhone 12 Pro Max without a case. The area that grips your phone also has some foam pads to keep you from damaging your phone. Above your cradled phone you have a slot to attack the light. The light includes some great customization, including being able to dial in the brightness and how cool or warm you want to white light to be. There is a small screen on the light that allows you to customize the light, give you battery status, and gives you an estimate of how long the battery should last.
The kit also includes a remote that you can pair through Bluetooth. This works well, but I have yet to really find a need for it. I have normally used my Apple Watch, and its remote camera feature to frame shots and take them remotely.
All in all, this is a nice kit to make some significant improvement to your online meetings. The tripod holds everything steady and at a great angle, and the light is great. With the light’s customization you can really dial in how you want to be lit to look your best online.

I’ve been wanting something like this Digipower – The Instructor – Kit, for a while now. My primary uses would be creating videos to post online for social media or to live stream. And what this set has to offer, should do the job. At least to start off with, as a beginner, for basic video creation. A handy user guide is included.
This particular Digipower kit did impress me. Setup was easy. The adjustable tripod is really well made, and quite sturdy, having little rubberized pads on the ‘feet’ to assist with “staying put”. The LED light is bright! Really bright, so even on its lowest settings, it might be a good idea not to stare directly into the light for long. A snap-on diffuser filter is included, which is a plus.
There are three buttons on the side of the light itself – on/off, brightness and color temp – as well as, a small LCD control panel on the back which shows you battery life, along with the display numbers for the brightness and color temperature settings.
Now even though it is just an inexpensive clip-on mic, the sound coming from the microphone is pretty darn good. Clear, not tinny or hollow, and with no echo or distortion. It’s certainly good enough for simple video chatting or beginner streaming. And, depending on what cell phone you have, you’ll need an adapter to plug the 3.5mm jack into.
The remote is basic; simply used to start/stop the video (or take a picture).
A minor thing worth pointing out – The ‘spring’ mechanism designed to hold your phone is place, is a bit too strong, in my opinion. It took two hands and some careful finagling for me to get mine in there correctly.
For what this Digipower – The Instructor – Video Call Pro Kit is, with its more than reasonable price point, I can wholeheartedly recommend.
GeekGirl10 –
This is a nice, compact set-up for video calls and zoom meetings. It was easy to set up, and the wireless camera shutter was easy to pair with my phone. I liked being able to adjust the light to eliminate harsh shadows. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the microphone. It has a 3.5 mm plug for a headphone jack. To use it with any modern Android phone, you will need a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. It was an oversite that Mars an otherwise great product.
Wishkid –
If you’re a person who likes to be on camera and likes to look good and be heard clearly this device is for you. What you get with this, an adjustable light with rechargeable battery, adjustable tripod, microphone, wireless shutter remote and the USB charging cable. Doing video calls using your mobile with this thing is a breeze. The phone holder was able to accommodate my Note 20 plus fairly easily. The tripod legs can be expanded into 5 different positions to adjust the height and they are also reinforced with metal so they will not break easily. Your mobile device will be about 9 inches tall from the flat surface. The ball mount will do miracles with your device, you can pretty much position it to any vertical or horizontal position.
The light is where this thing shines. With the light on, the clarity of your image is very noticeable. Brightness can be adjusted from 3100K to 5500K and 25 different color temperatures. The light is also rechargeable and will last approx 16hr according to the manufacturer. After I fully charged the battery it displayed 9hrs @ 5500k and 1% brightness. The brighter the light the more power it will consume. At the highest setting the battery will last about 1hr. All that information is easily available on the easy to read LCD screen that’s on the battery pack behind the light.
Moving on to the microphone. When we do any video calls or recording it is very important to be heard as clearly as possible. The microphone included in this package does exactly that, it is not perfect but it does the job very well. One of the things we notice about recording sound with mobile phones is that we sound like we’re in a tin can, and the mobile mic picks up almost every background noise from your surroundings. The microphone included does a very good job masking those sounds and actually focusing on the primary voice, and the cable is very long too so you can move around easily.
You also get a camera shutter that connects to the phone via Bluetooth. There are two buttons one for IOS the other for Android. They both actually worked on my android but did the same exact function. You will have to place an imaging app either to record or to take pictures, the remote will act as a start/stop or camera shutter. It is very easy to use and to pair with your mobile device. Overall this product is very useful and beneficial for those who’s on camera all the time. It is easy to use and is travel friendly and it doesn’t take much space and is very light and its functionality is outstanding.
HBCUgrad13 –
The Digipower Professional Video kit is great product for anyone desiring to enhance the production quality of their video output. The rechargeable light is outstanding. The included light is very bright and has a great battery life to fit my needs. The microphone worked well when capturing my voice, and the tripod was sturdy and provided sufficient height for basic usage. I did wish for the tripod to extend further in height. Also, many phone makers are removing audio jacks from phone so some users may want to check for compatibility. Finally, a kit should contain a least a case to make to portable for those on the go. At the end of the day, this is not a perfect kit, but a great kit to get a bump in video quality.

Received my DigiPower Instructor Tripod Video Kit a week ago an have been putting it through its, paces. Inside the box comes everything you need to get started vlogging or video calls:
1. 112 LED Video Light with Diffuser
2. Tripod Phone Holder
3. Clip-On Microphone
4. Wireless Shutter Remote
5. Micro USB Charging Cable
6. Camera Shoe
To start, you want to make sure the 112 LED Video Light is fully charged by plugging in the micro USB Charging Cable to the bottom and charge it for about 2 hours. Note it will come partially charged. So this process may not take as long.
Attach the Camera Shoe to the bottom of the 112 LED Video Light and slide it into the grove of the holder on top of the tripod (which extends out) and power on the LED Video Light using the top button on the side of the light. The color temperature ranges from 3100K to 5500K; so keep in mind the higher color temperature, the faster the battery will drain. But it does a good job with letting you know approximately how much battery life you have.
I didn’t really test out the Clip-On mic or the Wireless Shutter Remote as what I used the product for those parts were not necessarily needed. Maybe down the line the Wireless Shutter Remote will be needed but the Clip-On Mic requires a 3.5mm audio jack. However, most phones nowadays have done away with the audio jacks. But it would be useful if I was using an actual camera instead of a phone.
Ok so using this product helped brighten my calls in and allowed me to work instead of trying to hold my phone. Facetime calls with my family were amazing and I love how it could be used somewhat as a selfie stick as well. Loved walking around showing my family off my new home and my upgrades.
My only small grip was the Camera Shoe. After a little while it seems as though it becomes loose and I have to keep trying to tighten it back down and to try and keep the LED Light facing forward. It became a bit cumbersome for someone like myself with larger hands. Not necessarily a deal breaker but just something to keep in mind.

For those looking to take their video conferencing, Zoom call game to a better quality, this is a solid option. It is excellent for basic conferencing as it comes with a tripod, phone mount, lavalier mic, and the prime feature, the versatile light. First, the overall pros and cons:
PROS
– Light is very bright
– Solid tripod; has phone clip and threaded mount included
– Audio adapter is also included
– Light is adjustable, has controls for both color temp and brightness, plus is rechargeable
CONS
– tripod clamp mouth barely fit my Galaxy Note 10+; can’t imagine anything larger fitting
– Remote shutter is not user friendly; took quite a bit of trial and error to get all the settings right
– For newer usb-c phones with no audio jack, you absolutely need both an audio to USBC adapter,, as well as Bluetooth ear buds to hear the person you’re chatting with.
– Audio quality of Mic is not good — there’s almost no noise cancelling effect at all
The main thing I am taking away from this is the sturdy tripod and the versatile light. It even comes with a slide one diffuser (which I found extremely necessary as the light is so bright, even on the lowest setting).
A noise cancelling lav is paramount for video streaming though, so for that I would say pass on this one. However for everyday video conferencing or recording, this would be a solid 4 out of 5.

The Digipower professional video kit is great for on-the-go bloggers and even online schooling. One of my professors required adequate lighting and audio during class (law school) and the Digipower professional video kit was great for the class. The included LED light provided adequate lighting and lasts long. The microphone is also great and worked without any issues.
Overall, the Digipower professional video kit is great.

Immediately after the first use on a conference call, people noticed the difference. My office isn’t very bright based on how the light comes in the window and having only one lamp. I put the LED light on the tripod with my phone and set the brightness so that it wasn’t too bright for me to look at and it made a huge difference. I could see that the image of myself was much clearer and I didn’t look like I was in a cave. With the tripod being adjustable, it made a big difference as I was able to put it just above my laptop monitor and still be on camera while looking at everyone on our zoom call.
It advertises 16 hours of battery life which I think is a bit of a stretch but maybe at its lowest settings you can get close to that. At full charge and at my desired brightness and warmth, it lasted about 7 or 8 hours before I needed to recharge it. Simply remembering to turn it off between calls will save a significant amount of battery life and probably get you through the entire day.
The included microphone is good but since I use my AirPods for calls, I won’t typically need it but, when my family joins me at my desk to FaceTime relatives, it will come in very handy.
Overall, I think this light is well made and makes a significant difference in my conference call experience. I don’t think you would be disappointed and recommend giving it a try!

I wasn’t expecting a lot when I got this light. I have other ones that don’t work that great and don’t get very bright.
This one totally blew away my expectations! Out of the box you wouldn’t think much of this light. Its about the size of a deck of cards and probably about 1/2 the thickness. It will very easily fit in your pocket or camera bag and take up very little space. Its also rechargeable, so you don’t have to worry about wasting money on batteries either.
When I first powered this thing on I was amazed at how bright it was. Then I looked at the cool display on the back of it and realized it wasn’t even at full brightness yet! I cranked it up all the way and was blinded by the light. Seriously, this thing gets very bright.
After playing around with it I also noticed that you can adjust the color temperature of the light. There are 25 different color temperature settings going in 100 increments. It also shows on the display roughly how much time you have left for the light to be on with the battery level. So you will have fair warning when you are about to run out of juice. But you can easily get an hour or more out of it with a full charge if you aren’t using the max brightness (which you will probably rarely need)
They also include a tripod and mount for your cell phone. They are all very heavy duty plastic and not cheap at all. I was also able to use it to mount my GoPro under the camera as well. Makes it great for setting up on a table, or carrying it around in handheld mode.
This is definitely the light to get if you do any kid of vlogging or video shooting. Just pop it in your bag and its there whenever you need it!

WOW, this did not disappoint. I needed something portable and easy to use that would offer great video conferencing and instruction recording. This did not disappoint. In the kit you get a tripod, mobile phone, holder, adjustable light, remote control, and a wired mic. I used an iPhone 11 Pro Max without a case and this held my phone perfectly. Be sure to charge the light fully before your first use.
Let me start with the light, this is where all the magic happens. You can adjust the lighting from 3100K – 5500k. Depending on your lighting around you, this is fantastic to be able to dial in just the right amount of light to help make you stand out crystal clear in your video. There is a nice display on the back of the light unit that lets you know the level and how much battery life is left. The brighter you make it, the more power it will use.
Set up is a breeze and very intuitive. Pairing the remote is like adding any other Bluetooth device to your phone, you do this through the settings option on your phone. This allows you to easily snap pictures or start your recording without having to reach out to the button on your phone. And the wired mic is a nice bonus, it does a nice job of focusing on your voice.

The Digipower – The Instructor – 8.5″ Tripod Professional Video Kit is spectacular. The kit includes everything you need to make high quality videos or engage in video conferences. A bright light that ensures your appearance is vibrant and clear while on camera and the microphone is phenomenal. Very easy to attach the lapel clip. The microphone cord has sufficient length so that it can be plugged in without snagging. Your voice will come through crystal clear so your audience or members on the call can hear you without distortion.
The battery provides long lasting power so you don’t have to worry about longer recording sessions. It also allows you to easily reposition the tripod and light without having to be mindful of a power cord.
The adjustable tripod is great. it helps you ensure you are always centered in the illumination. I love the design of the kit. The components are all built with exceptional durability. I plan to use this video kit for years to come. The adjustable tripod can be placed on a table or directly on the floor and still provides a great illumination.
This video kit really enhances your video creation experience. I feel like I’m on a professional set. I never realized how much of an improvement having lighting can make on your videos. There is no glare, no noise or saturation. It’s great!
I highly recommend the Digipower – The Instructor – 8.5″ Tripod Professional Video Kit.

We have moved into a world where video conferencing and remote learning have become the norm. The overall experience in these settings can be greatly dependent upon the equipment and setup used. This is where something like the Digipower video kit can make all the difference.
This kit arrived well-packaged and has an overall above average build quality. It feels relatively solid and not cheaply made or designed.
Sound quality, in many ways, can make or break a video conference. As backwards as that seems, there is great frustration that comes from not being able to hear what is being spoken. Many high profile YouTubers will tell you, if you can only choose to have great video or great audio, choose great audio. People are more willing to overlook video quality than sound quality. The included lav mic with this kit goes a long way to do just that. I needed a dongle to connect it with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. There is plenty of cord length to allow for movement and distance from the setup. Ambient background sound is decently filtered, and voice quality is more clean, clear, and crisp.
Setup was straightforward and not difficult. The clamp easily accommodated my iPhone 12 Pro Max and securely held it in place. The multi-position tripod is easily adjusted for both desktop and handheld use. The rotating swivel allows for virtually endless positioning.
There is an included fob to control the camera shutter via Bluetooth and connected app. Connection was easy and consistent. Simple in use and design and controls the shutter as intended. Nothing over-the-top or advanced.
Lighting – this is where the Digipower shines. Yeah, I might have intended that pun. 1500mAh battery, over a hundred LEDs, adjustable color temps and brightness, a diffuser cover – this light is BRIGHT and definitely improves the video quality. This is a yellow / white only light – no color variants. The rear LCD display lets you see the settings and remaining battery life. Speaking of which – is really great. Obviously at full intensity battery drain increases and you will likely only get an hour or two of use. But with moderate settings you can easily get a few hours of use.
So what is my verdict? This is a great setup for beginner to average users. Cost-effective, well-built, and easy to use. Take your videos up a notch.

In my post-retirement life, I have taken a position as an online instructor for a graduate leadership studies program; as such, I often find myself needing to either a) make video calls for real-time student/instructor interaction, or b) record/produce personalized videos for inclusion in my online classroom. During my audition of the Digipower Instructor Video Kit, I found this setup to provide that extra bit of professional polish for either activity, and all from a pretty complete, compact, and user-friendly package.
The tripod is a reasonably standard 3-legged affair offering a mix of metal and plastic components that clocks in at just under 8.3 ounces. While the weight is not burdensome, it’s heavier than it looks and should easily stand up to a mild battle with the elements without blowing over. At minimal extension, the distance between feet is about 8″; when fully extended, the feet are roughly 10″ apart from each of the other corners of the equilateral triangle that the legs form–so take that real estate commitment into account if you’re working at a cramped desktop. The slide-out legs are not infinitely adjustable but instead offer 5 extension lengths that click into place; the slide release buttons are thoughtfully on the INSIDE of each leg making it unlikely that you’ll accidentally collapse one of the legs while moving/reorienting the tripod–nice! The slide-out clamp securely held my iPhone 12 in place…with a much wider 6S Plus, the fit was still secure, but the MUCH tighter resistance on the mechanism meant I was at very the end of the clamp’s extension–I cannot think of any modern cell phone on the market today that would be short enough to mount vertically between the jaws of the tripod clamp. About the only niggle I had with the tripod’s design was that the threaded mounting point sits precariously close to the jaws of the phone clamp. If you happen to lose the little rubber cap that normally covers the threaded mount, you may to be very careful when you slide your phone into place (especially if you’re also wrestling the clamp open with a great deal of force), or you could damage your phone or scratch the case as it passes by the metal threads.
The included lavaliere mic proved to be a necessity for any video I recorded from more than a few feet away. Sadly, the microphone’s hardware is not noise-cancelling, but it is omni-directional, so you’ll have to consider making your videos in slightly more quiet surroundings lest you pick up many a stray sound source in the background coming from pretty much any other direction. However, the improvements in recorded audio quality, volume and clarity vs. using the phone’s built-in mic (again, especially at a distance–the cable itself reaches out to 10 feet away) was significant and immediately noticeable in both recorded videos and for my video call participants. However, once I opted to use the lavaliere mic instead of the phone’s microphone, I had to don a set of Bluetooth earbuds to hear the caller because the mic requires the use of a Lightning to 3.5mm adapter, which then mutes the built-in speakers (I imagine Android phones without an audio jack will need a similar dongle for the lavaliere mic). This may not be a problem for those simply looking to use the tripod and/or light to spiffy up some otherwise plain-vanilla phone-sourced video/recordings, but you should be aware of some of the hoops you might have to jump through if you want to use the complete package during a live video call. The included Bluetooth shutter remote helpfully started and stopped video recording (or snapped a photo when I left the phone in ‘camera’ mode) and includes buttons for both iOS and Android–strangely, both buttons worked flawlessly on my iPhone 12 so I’m not sure what to make of that–other than it wasn’t necessary for me to fumble around or look down at the remote to find the correct button to use…YMMV.
Finally, the big draw of this kit is the rechargeable and adjustable LED light. Construction feels substantial and high quality as it is mostly metal with an informative LCD screen on the back to indicate the currently selected color temperature, brightness, battery charge, and estimated illumination time remaining. The power button doubles as the mode selector (temperature or brightness selection) while two other buttons handle +/- adjustments. The color temperature ranges in 100K increments from a warm, almost pale orange candlelight-type glow at 3100K; to a more cool white, near daylight-looking 5500K. Brightness adjustments run from 1-5% in increments of 1, and then by 5s up to 100%–the difference in brightness is definitely noticeable, though the contrast between 50% and 100% brightness seemed far less stark and noticeable than between 1% and 50%. These differences were also reflected in the run-time variations we observed. With the light pack fully charged, illumination at 1% brightness was estimated at more than 8 hours; at 50% brightness, run time was estimated at just over 1.5 hours; and at 100% brightness, estimated run time was only about 50 minutes. However, even at 1% brightness, the light is very effective (read, VERY bright) and can be difficult to look at when you’re using the entire setup in close-quarters, though the slide-on/snap-on diffusion screen does help soften the harshness of all those LEDs in your face.
This light kit is definitely geared towards “regular” video use as only variations in white color temperatures are supported–there are no RGB type lighting effects. You can also use the light separately from the tripod kit as the light screws onto an individual shoe that a) slides into the top of the tripod’s own phone clamp shoe mount, or b) accommodates other cameras and video recorders that feature a shoe mount of their own. About the only things missing here are a small carrying case or bag to help keep everything together, and a few memory slots to store some commonly used lighting presets. Between the 25 color temperature settings, and the 24 brightness level adjustments, and the possible inclusion of the diffusion filter, you essentially have 1200 lighting combinations to pick from. For the average consumer, that might be a few too many granular lighting options depending on how many different types of lighting environments are commonly used, so a few shortcut settings saved to memory would definitely be useful. Overall, however, this is a great/flexible little kit that really has the potential to elevate the quality or production values of your phone-based video calls and recordings without feeling like you have to cart around an entire studio’s worth of equipment.

The phone holder is restricted, and does not move with ease, making it hard to mount the phone.

Because of the weight of the phone, you’re not able to maneuver the phone to a side “view” by moving the ball mechanism left or right, because the tripod topples over.
