Wonderful sound quality. The earphone works excellent!

  2. MQAYener

Astounding listening experience. After going through the latest versions of Sony , Denons Perls, these are my “end game” wireless buds. No gimmicks, an excellent ANC mode (Sony still has them in this category, but not by much). The sound without any EQ is just right, for most any genre of music. Lamb of God, Rone, Leonard Cohen, Beck… everything came through with excellent retrieval of detail, texture. Battery life is excellent, I went through most of an 8 hour shift at work and they were only out 22%. Devialet did an amazing job with this product.

  3. Closingracer

I’ve used countless true wireless earbuds over the years from various companies and this one is the first I’ve tried in the $400+ range. This has a high bar to be considered great.

    Inside the box
you get a USB type c cable to charge the case which is also wireless chargeable
XS, small , medium and large earbud tips
    Manuals
    Case with the earbuds inside

To set it up it’s quite easy and typical in the Bluetooth settings. I have an Android phone and it states you can use Google fast pair but I don’t see it. Not a big deal IMHO.

They connect to the Devialet Gemini app (not the Devialet app) and you can upgrade the firmware , change the settings like button functions and the EQ of the buds.

This is the reason why I gave these 4 stars though to be honest I would say 4.5 not 4 stars is because the buds there is no way to turn off the ANC/transparency mode. It’s either transparency or ANC. I would just like to turn it off especially with earbuds that cost how much that they do. But as far as ANC goes it’s actually quite good. Blocks most noise and I would say sits below the Sony’s and the Bose but very close. Transparency is ok but to be honest Apple makes the best earbuds for that so if that’s a must have the Airpod pros are the best in my opinion.

As far as Sound Quality goes which is my priority over other features these sound amazing. You don’t get the pounding bass but it’s clear. The mids and highs as well.

I’ve been testing the Devialet Gemini II earbuds for almost a week. Overall, they provide premium sound, a great equalizer, and standard noise cancellation, all in a great pocketable form.

The Devialet Gemini II Earbuds check all the boxes for what I consider premium earbuds:

    * The case has a great form factor that doesn’t snag when being placed in a pocket and keeps the pocket bulge to a minimum.
    * It has both wireless charging and USB-C charging.
    * The build quality is good, featuring a solid hinge and magnetically closing top.
    * The earbuds came with ear tips in four different sizes, ensuring I had the perfect fit for my ears. They easily passed the head-shake test.
    * There is an accompanying app that provides an equalizer with six presets and a custom preset. With the custom preset, I was able to tune the sound to my specific liking, a feature not found on most earbuds.
    * I can also customize the touch controls in the app, choosing what happens with single taps, double taps, and long presses on the buds.
    * There is noise canceling and a transparency feature. The noise canceling is slightly above standard, reducing most ambient noise without causing a white noise effect, although some sound bleed remains. However, the transparency mode is above average. It almost sounds like you aren’t wearing earbuds.
    * It uses Bluetooth 5.2, which connects quickly and maintains a connection at 30 feet with four walls in the way before stuttering occurs.
    * The battery life is good. I easily got a full week of daily general use in my testing.
    * As for sound quality, the volume can get loud without distortion. The bass is top-notch, vocals are very clear, the sound separation is excellent, and small details that you wouldn’t normally hear become audible.

The only drawback I found is when I initially place the earbuds in my ear, I can’t tell if they are inserted properly. They feel like they slightly slide out. It’s only after doing a shake test that I realize they are in there securely.

With all that said, These are great earbuds that meet my standards for premium sound and I would recommend them.

If you want high-quality sound in a sleek, small size, the Devialet Gemini Wireless II Earbuds are your only option As soon as you take them out of the box, you can tell that a lot of thought went into making them. They feel expensive and come with a fashionable charging case. It is clear that the design and construction quality are of the highest level. It is sleek and simple, and it is water resistant and feels both durable and beautiful. It is easy to carry around because the charging case is small and fits into pockets or bags.

The Bluetooth 5.2 connection is very stable, so these earbuds are easy to pair with your device. This means that you’ll always have a good hearing experience.

There are 4 different ear tip choices to make sure they fit snugly on ears of different sizes. When I put them on for the first time, they felt comfortable and safe. There’s no doubt that these earbuds sound great once they’re linked. Highs and mids are clear, and the bass is full without being too much. When you’re listening to music or making calls, Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) effectively blocks out background noise.

The Devialet Gemini Wireless II Earbuds have a transparent mode, which is another interesting feature. You can easily hear what’s going on around you when this mode is activated, so you don’t have to take the earbuds off. This is a great safety feature, especially for people who travel in cities or like to work out.

It’s easy to switch between songs and answer calls with the earbuds’ touch-sensitive settings. Long-lasting battery lets you play music for hours without stopping, and quick-charge is useful for times when you’re on the go and need a quick power boost it supports wireless charging too.

More than just the outward parts, Devialet pays close attention to the little things. People can change the sound setting to their liking using the app that comes with it. More value is added to an already great sound experience by offering personalization.

Some people might think the price is too high, even though the sound quality and style are awesome. It may also take some time to get used to the touch buttons because they are sometimes very sensitive.

This basically means that the Devialet Gemini Wireless II Earbuds are a great choice for music lovers. The overall quality of these earbuds is excellent, and they look great and are easy to use. People who want better sound quality and a touch of luxury in their regular listening will love these headphones, even though they do cost a lot.

Holy Moly! I’ve been looking for a set of earbuds that has what it takes to overwhelm me. I’ve tried out tens of earbuds (on the order of 30 to 40 different ones) from every brand I can think of. None of the previous buds I’ve tried really did much for me especially in the “fit” department. Most have questionable sound “quality” and few can impress me with output power and volume level.

I can honestly say, with great enthusiasm that these ear buds have blown me away! These put all the ones I’ve tried previously, to shame. I guess the old adage of you get what you pay for really applies in this situation. And I understand that these are not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. But my experience with the Gemini II’s has been complete joy right out of the box. And to be clear, for the price of these ear buds, I had very high expectations for them.

    Physical Design
One look at the case and you’ll realize that these guys set out to make something special. The case itself is beautiful. The silver banding with the Devialet logo is really elegant. The case sits upright on it’s flat bottom and allows you to open the top to access the buds. It’s amazing that so many ear buds I’ve used completely fail at this small detail. On the bottom side you’ll find a USB-C charging port for the case itself and on the back side is a button to activate Bluetooth pairing. On the front of the case below the brand name is a small status LED that changes color and flashes to indicate a variety of modes.

The ear buds themselves are far and away the most comfortable buds I’ve ever used. With almost every other set of buds I’ve tried, you really need to play around with them to get them to fit right, and it’s always a constant battle to find the sweet spot that delivers reasonable sound quality and comfort. Not the case with the Gemini II’s. I used the default tips that were pre-installed, put them in my ears and barely twisted them a bit and they felt perfect. It was so easy to get a comfortable fit I was thrown off for a second. I’ve never, ever had this kind of fit experience with any other set of buds. Refreshing is the word that comes to mind when thinking about the fit design.

    Sound Quality
I listen to a wide variety of music from hard rock to jazz to techno and even new age. These buds are a hard rockers’ dream! They sound fantastic at any volume. When I turn them up all the way and they are loud! These guys have p l e n t y of power. All the other buds I’ve used all suffer from anemic power output, but these buds just shine the more you turn them up. I don’t hear any distortion at all on even the most punchy bass heavy selections. The sound pressure levels are out the roof. Crazy deep, rich, clean bass. Mids and highs cut through the low end without sounding screechy or hissy. Everything just sounds clean! Devialet attributes the amazing sound to it’s EAM, Ear Active Matching technology which uses an algorithm to dynamically tune the sound to the wearers ear shape. They are certainly doing something right to get the high quality sound they present.

To further enhance and tailor the sound, the Devialet app offers an equalizer that lets you pick a preset sound enhancement or set the EQ yourself. Personally, after trying the EQ section, I found that I got the best sound by using the standard “flat” selection. I can’t say enough about the sound quality and power of these buds. Truly amazing sound.

    App and Features
Aside from the comfy fit and amazing sound quality, the Gemini II’s offer a lot of additional features. For starters, they have noise cancellation. This is a feature that’s come a long way on buds in general across the board and I usually opt for the “transparency” mode so that I can hear things that I may need to, outside my own little world. But the cancellation on these buds works very well to filter out everything outside the 300-3000Hz range which allows voices to be heard and ambient noise to be filtered out.

Another nice feature is that the case has Qi wireless technology. So setting it on a wireless charger is all you need to do to charge it (or you can use the USB-C cable). Devialet says the charge will last up to 22 hours “with the charging case”. I haven’t put this to the test, but I interpret this to mean that by recharging the buds in the case, you have about a days worth of use. The buds themselves are also water resistant with an IPX4 rating, so sweat or rain will not be an issue when using them during workouts. Devialet includes 4 sizes of soft rubber tips which will accommodate a wide range of different ear sizes. You can use them for phone calls as well because they employ a dual microphone design. They also have touch controls that work for music as well as phone calls. Combine all this with a 2-year parts and labor warranty and you can tell the company has a lot of faith in it’s product. I never thought I would ever be able to find a set of ear buds that I would be completely happy with but Devialet has totally delivered a pair of buds that are simple to use, comfortable, and sound fantastic. Very glad I tried them. Really nicely done Devialet!

To get started I must admit that I had never heard of the Devialet Gemini II True Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds…and now they are my go to choice when listening to music in the office or on the go. The sound quality and adaptive noise canceling rival all the earbuds/earphones I’ve owned to this point, and they are the best fitting which pushes them over the top for me.

Devialet’s packaging protects the earbuds and case well and is entirely recyclable which is appreciated in the current environment. The first thing I noticed upon opening the box was the small size of the Gemini II case and earbuds. The earbuds are not the smallest option out there, but the overall size of the charging/carrying case is perfect for people on the go.

What’s in the box: the earbuds, charging case, USB to USB-C charging cable and XS, S and L earpieces (mediums are installed) and a quick start guide.

Set Up – As with most electronic devices these days, the first step is to download the supporting app, in this case the Devialet Gemini app for the iPhone. Once the app is installed, simply open the charging case (this is a must) and press the button on the back of the case for 3 seconds. Voila, the Gemini II earbuds are connected and ready for use. One of the features Devialet provides is the ability to connect the Geminis to multiple devices. In my case it’s my iPhone and MacBook Air, the options will show up on the main screen in the app.

The earbuds came with the medium fitment attached and they seemed to fit pretty well, so I fired up some tunes as I worked around the house. After walking around a bit, I noticed the right earbud was somewhat loose and had to readjust it a couple of times. They are meant to be inserted and twisted into a “locked” position within the ear. I ended up switching to the large inserts and that corrected the fitment. As they are noise canceling, a tight seal in the ear adds to the NC capabilities so I would recommend going with a tighter fit vs. one that is too loose.

Sound – The sound quality out of the box was amazing with a deep rich bass note that most other earbuds just don’t deliver. The sound quality is solid across all music genres, podcasts, etc. There is an equalizer in the app for adjusting the sound output, there are a number of presets, and it can be customized as well. In terms of adjusting the earbuds, the app provides settings for the Noise Cancelling and Transparency options. Phone calls sounded crisp and clear on both ends. Devialet’s Noise Cancelling technology is top-notch, for earbuds I was amazed at how well the Gemini II block out unwanted noise while listening to music or taking a phone call. The user can easily switch between NC and Transparency modes with a long tap on the earbud, this toggles between modes.

Touch Controls – most features of the earbuds can be controlled with touch controls. Controls include Play/Pause, NC/Transparency, previous/next song, volume and phone options to answer, hang up or reject and incoming call. It may take a few tries to figure them all out, but once mastered you basically don’t need the phone/app to manage these earbuds. Touch Controls are also customizable in the app.

Devialet Gemini App – for the iPhone the app is available on the App Store for easy download. Once I had downloaded and connected to the earbuds, there was an update notification. The update took about 5 minutes to run (it actually failed the first try). The app is pretty simple, it shows the charge level of the earbuds and case and connected devices on the main page. In the settings menu all of the audio and earbud settings can be found. There are plenty of options to personalize the Gemini IIs to a user’s desired setup.

    Pros:
    – One of the best sounding earbuds with deep rich sound in a small package
    – Noise Cancelling / Transparency settings – easily select how much of the world’s noise gets in
    – Easy to setup and use with Devialet Gemini app
    – Included portable charging case for additional battery life – never run out of juice on the go!
    – Phone calls are easy to manage and with excellent sound quality
    – Strong Bluetooth – Never lost connection, even when moving around my house
    – Overall build quality for earbuds and case is top-notch

    Cons:
    – Haven’t really found any after a week of using these earbuds

I would highly recommend the Devialet Gemini II wireless noise cancelling earbuds to anyone looking for the high-quality, great sounding and feature-packed earbuds for everyday use. They are a solid choice for both work and play!

  8. Technopackrat

This is my second set of Devialet earbuds. I have the original Geminis and now the Gemini II.

The Gemini IIs have a smaller size case and the earbuds are slightly smaller as well.
Decent enough battery life, advertised 5 hour constant play battery life and the case is rechargable via USB-C cable (included) however you need your own power brick or just plug into a laptop, desktop or any brick you may already have… I know I have a drawer full of those over the years of tablets and phones.

The Gemini’s connect to devices via Bluetooth and pairing is really easy. The Devialet app (iOS or Android) is feature packed with easy switch in and out of noise cancelling. The app displays battery life for each earbud and the case when the earbuds are charging. In the settings menu you can adjust the qualizer slides to adjust the sound to your liking or take advantage of te presets. You can also adjust left and right ear balance. There are present touch controls however those too are adjustable in the settings menu in the app.

The sound is amazing. One of my favorite travel devices and with the active noise canceling it makes a great flight entertainment alternative to headphones.

I work in a noisy office environment and the Gemini IIs help quiet things down, even if they are just on and nothing is playing through them.
I’ve included two pictures with the original Gemini on the right and the II’s on the left to show comparison in size.

If I had anything to complain about it’s the redesign of case. While slightly smaller, is slightly more difficult for me to remove earbuds. Maybe it’s that they went from a slide open case to a hinged lid or maybe the seating magnet’s pull makes causing a bit too much resistance to pop the earbuds out, at least for me.

Battery life is okay but you need to come up with a charging strategy if you end up wearing these most day.

  9. Grouticus

Considering the number of headphones and earbuds I have gone through throughout the years, I consider myself reasonably familiar with what to expect from each manufacturer from the sound they produce, way they fit in my ears, features, functions and all the pros and cons. In my weekly routine, I probably cycle through two to three different types depending on where I am at, such as work or home, and what I am doing, like working out or trying to simply drown out the noise. It also doesn’t help that I have been an audiophile all my life and I have certain sound expectations that need to be met. That may sound excessive or abundant, but I have never been able to find a single pair that meets all of my needs until I came across the new Devialet Gemini II wireless earbuds.

Out of the box, you can physically see they are very well crafted and made with high end materials and not just run of the mill plastics and cheap metals. The charging case has a metallic gloss black center surrounded by matte black curved top and bottom. Opening the case exposed the earbuds which are much smaller than their predecessors, about 40% smaller, and most other earbuds with a similar oval design. The small size makes a huge difference with this design as larger oval shaped ear buds typically won’t fit comfortably in my ears and easily fall out. The Gemini II shape fit simply perfect into my ears and stay in place no matter what I’m doing including exercising and working out where there can be a lot of motion and that is typically when other ear buds will frustratingly fall out. My wife has relatively small ears and most ear buds don’t fit comfortably or stay in her ears. However, these stay in place even will all the moving around she does throughout her busy day running a daycare. They also come with four eartip sizes so they claim to fit any size ear.

Using the Devialet smart phone application, you can sync your Gemini II’s to your user account and provide the earbuds the latest updates. Through the app, you can customize the sound via their equalizer presets, customize the earbud touch controls for each side including activating the noise cancelling feature, play, pause, skip songs, etc.

Over the years, one of my main gripes for any headphones or earbuds has always been I have rarely been pleased with the max volume they typically provide. That goes for many high-end headphones and especially ear buds because of the restrictions of their size. In my four decades of using headphones and earbuds dating back to the orange foam cushioned wire headphones you see Star Lord wearing in Guardians of the Galaxy to the latest and greatest high-end audiophile or PC gaming haptic feedback over-the-ear headphones, there have only been a standout few that I have been actually impressed by as much as the Gemini II earbuds. For starters, although I have no specs or measurements to back this up and it’s simply my opinion based on my experiences comparing to other brands, it feels as if the max volume you would normally get out of most other earbuds is about 60-70% on the volume knob of the Gemini’s; surprisingly, turning these up to the max volume is actually too loud for me which I never thought I would say regarding ear buds. Perhaps this is due to their custom 10mm titanium Devialet drivers combined with the loads of the latest technology including the Qualcomm aptX Adaptive codec, Active Wind Reduction (AWR), Ear Active Matching (EAM) algorithm, Devialet Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANC) up to 40DB among the long list of features you’ll find on these beauties. I’m not surprised but the Gemini II’s ANC is also up there on my long list as some of the best noise cancelling I have heard in headphones or earbuds. Some other specs include Bluetooth 5.2 Multipoint allowing auto switching between two devices, up to 22 hours of battery life, IPX4 water and sweat resistance, voice assistant compatible, Google Fast Pair and QI wireless charging.

Overall, the new Devialet Gemini II wireless earbuds are second to none in my opinion and that’s saying a lot from an audiophile who has a knack for great sound and would recommend them to anyone without hesitation to consider spending the little bit extra amount for these works of art.

  10. fudgear

Devialet has been known as a European audio powerhouse. Its big name is synchronous to high cost and quality products. The French has an interesting take on audio products, with focus on design and function, but it’s not at all surprising considering that European countries have been the bastion of quality but not so affordable audio products.

Aside of its hefty price, the design of Gemini II true wireless earbuds (TWS) hits many points. The case is compact and yet classy with conspicuous metal trimming. It also supports wireless charging and pairing is as easy as hitting the button on the back of the case. Gemini II supports the typical features you would expect from a high end TWS earbuds: the latest Bluetooth tech connection, transparency mode, ANC, earbuds touch control, multipoint connection, voice assistant compatibility, aptX supports, and of course an app that enables you to fine tune your listening experience by giving you control of the six frequencies in the equalizer. The ability to control those six frequencies is important because of individual preferences: some people like bass-heavy sound signature, some would prefer more treble or a bit more kick in the middle frequency. It’s nice to have these options available. Also, important to note that these earbuds have 10mm titanium coated drivers and they are design to actively reduce wind noise. Battery life is acceptable for TWS earbuds with the case able to provide ample of conserve juice.

Before using the earbuds any further, it is very important to download the app and update the firmware to the latest one. It’s no big secret in the industry that audio products got better audio performance with firmware updates so be sure to update to the latest one. Also, make sure to get the correct size of the eartips by trying on different sizes. Putting on the correct eartip size will block most of the sound outside our ears and more importantly it will unleash the true potential of the earbuds. Once it’s done, fitting should be very comfortable as the earbuds are lightweight and fits really well into our ears. The correct position of the earbuds should be slightly tilted so that they would rest comfortably in our ears.

Now onto the most exciting parts: the sound quality. For the test, I’ve been listening to streamed music from Apple Music and alternatively playing lossless audio format directly from a phone. I used both a high end android phone and the latest and the best iOS phone. So here’s a full disclosure of my testing method:

FLAC/ lossless audio format, android phone with player capable to play FLAC/ lossless audio format and capable of processing 32-bit audio transmission.
MP3 files with standard bitrate and corresponding android music player app
Apple music streaming from both Android and iOS device including streaming lossless music files from the app
Devialet App’s Equalizer set to Dynamic
Transparency mode in most of the testings

It is very important to point out that I’m getting much better audio performance using high-end android device capable of outputting 32-bit audio than when using my high-end iPhone to test the Gemini II. The problem here is that even the newest and the best iPhone out there are locked to AAC codec and one would need to get an external DAC to bypass such limitation, which I did not find the need to do so in my testing. In contrast, my high-end android device performs really well in processing higher bit rate audio files and transmitting them to the earbuds.

Is Gemini II technically capable of receiving higher bitrate audio? Well, it can process aptX as per spec sheet and in my real world testing of playing different types of audio files, there’s a significant difference in terms of audio impressions when listening to low bitrate music files and higher bitrates ones. Sure, it would be better if Gemini II supports LDAC, however, even without it the earbuds seem to be able to process higher bit rate audio well and whatever digital audio chip and sauce Devialet is using on Gemini II to process audio, it works well.

There’s also significant difference in audio quality when I stream music from Apple Music using both my iOS and Android devices. Of course, this is not the same thing as saying the earbuds can natively process 32-bit audio but I’m only saying that the earbuds are technically capable to process higher bit rates audio if certain conditions are met, even though with some other technical limitations. The problem with wireless earbuds is that even when the phone’s hardware is able to process 32-bit audio, wireless earbuds will not receive the corresponding bitrate due to the limitation in Bluetooth protocol and the operating system. So, it’s ridiculous to judge the audio quality of a Bluetooth earbuds by using the same standards of wired earbuds. Why is it important to talk about this? Because we would want to make sure that those extra few hundred dollars is worth to spend for and we’re using sound judgement to make the determination.

    Audio impressions:
Music sounds lively with excellent dynamic responses across the board. Audio performance is smooth and sounded very nice and detailed enough. Bass is smooth, not harsh and not overpowering. It’s a matter of taste, some people may require more kick at the low notes, however, this is probably as good bass performance as one could squeeze out of earbuds. These earbuds can get loud but only when your audio player permits. I test the earbuds with iOS device and they didn’t sound loud enough to my liking. In contrast, a high-end android phone was able to boost the volume significantly and the earbuds could sound very loud without being too noticeable in tearing apart the frequency responses. So, it’s good news for those who like to listen to their music loud. Just be careful, listening loud music for too long can impair your hearing.

Separation of instruments are nice enough and definition is great for Bluetooth earbuds. Alan Menken’s ‘Harvest Dance’ from Aladdin’s FLAC soundtrack sounded very lively. The clarity, details and depths are there. Likely to be as good Bluetooth audio performance as you can get out of earbuds. Naomi Scott’s ‘Speechless (Part 2)’ FLAC music track is excellent and the performance was indeed for a moment made me speechless not because it’s the best audio quality out there, it’s just not possible with Bluetooth, but because the fact that they sounded really good and these are a pair of Bluetooth earbuds. The dynamics in Will Smith’s ‘Friend Like Me (End Title)’ FLAC music track is also somewhat extraordinary.

What about regular streaming tracks? Well, Daft Punk’s ‘One More Time’ from Apple Music sounded nice. Highs and mids were being well defined, the bass was very much there. The track sounded detailed and the overall dynamics were just great and spot on. I really like how the track is making use of the stereo technique and the earbuds were able to capitalize it for a great listening experience. Listening to somewhat complex track like Daft Punk’s ‘Around the World’ did not make these earbuds to falter. Consistently, the dynamics, fidelity and bass performance were just great for a pair of Bluetooth earbuds.

Is it all flowery? Well now is the interesting part. I feel that at the end of the day, earbuds can do so much but at the same time it has its own physical limitation. I don’t think there would be a pair of earbuds that can get pass the physical limitation of creating a soundstage that is tend to be more tight-and-centered leaning so the Gemini II is no different. Spatial audio feature like Dolby Atmos helps in making the soundstage more exciting but having said that earbuds are unlike over ear headphone that has the inherent advantage of creating wider and more natural soundstage due to the speaker position against the ear and the physical size of the driver.

My testing in making calls and engaging in conversation did not yield in spectacular result. Microphone performance is not the best out there but it’s fine for conducting phone conversation.

How do Gemini II’s audio performance stack against others? Well, I compared these earbuds to over ear Bluetooth headphones from another renowned European brand and Gemini II can still stand out in some aspects. And I do love the convenience and portability of the device, which is far more portable to carry around than any of my headphones. The Gemini II can easily point out the flaws in audio quality from standard audio file, something that not every good Bluetooth earbuds or even over ear BT headphone is able to do.

My final take: in the world of audio enthusiasts, the sky is the limit in terms of how much money would a person is willing to spend to get the best audio performance out there. Devialet is a renowned European brand that is not shy in grabbing the mass market but with serious audio enthusiasm in mind. Devialet Gemini II is not cheap, but it is far from being the most expensive earbuds out there. For the kind of performance we would be getting out of Gemini II, the asking price is actually still reasonable because in the Bluetooth earbuds category, Devialet Gemini II successfully emerges to stand out from the crowd due to its accuracy, detailed and great audio performance across the board.

At the end of the day, it is up to every individual to decide whether it is worth it to spend say twice the amount of money to get that bit of edge in terms of audio performance.

So, who is these earbuds for? Anyone who can afford them. At this price level, however, it would be a shame not to maximize on the earbuds’ audio capabilities by pairing them with a decent phone, one that is capable of processing and outputting high bit rate audio. Your typical iOS or Android phone should work well and give you pleasing results but yeah if you’re into getting the best audio performance, you’d know what to do with the phone.

I have owned a lot of earbuds and have been impressed with the improvements in battery life, ANC (active noise cancellation), sound, and call quality. I own 3 pairs of $350+ earbuds and was curious how well the Devialet Gemini II would compare.

I was impressed with the Gemini II while listening to music – it sounded great on the highs, mids, and bass. The bass especially sounded amazingly balanced, unlike other competitors, which use the bass to overcompensate for other sounds. I was able to hear additional acoustics within music, which is normally absent with other earbuds.

The app is simple and includes just the right number of features. The most unique feature is the ability to balance the sound between the left and right ear buds.

    Quiet environment
ANC on – Call quality sounds good, but not great. My voice did not sound as clear as competitors.
ANC off – Call quality sounds about the same as ANC on, but a little less muffled.
Music ANC on/off– I was very happy with the sound. Gemini II has been successful at having consistent clarity at all wavelengths of sound. I was amazed that I could hear varied ambient sounds in the music, which I haven’t experienced with competitors’ earbuds.

    Noisy environment
ANC on – Muffled voice – almost completely cuts out background noise.
ANC off – Voice momentarily cuts out.
Music ANC on – The quality of the music was about the same as with the quiet environment, which was pretty amazing. The ANC is top-notch; I could not hear anything but faint white noise between tracks. The ANC is the best of the many earbuds I have tried.

These earbuds are for the music enthusiast who needs to block out almost all external sound, without a bulky over-the-ear headphone design. Due to the muffled voice with and without ANC on in a loud environment, however, I will be using a different pair of earbuds for phone calls and Zoom meetings.

I really wanted a pair of high end noise canceling earbuds to use instead of my Airpod Pros, I love em, but I knew that there were better sounding earbuds out there. In addition, Airpods can only connect to one bluetooth device at a time; I wanted a pair that could connect to my iPhone and my work PC at the same time. These Devialet’s fit that criteria and here is my review:

I knew of the Devialet brand, they create gorgeous looking speakers thats sound even better, along with a high price to match. These headphones are definitely look great and also have the sound to match.

I downloaded the Devialet app and paired these to my iPhone and PC in seconds. The app allows you to customize the EQ, something you can’t do with Airpods. You can also customize the buttons, which was necessary for me as I had to disable the single tap option because the sensors on these are very sensitive.

These sound amazing, I was blown away by the sound and heard parts of songs that I had never heard before. The bass was deep and the mid’s and high’s sounded just the way I like them. They are probably the best sounding headphones I’ve heard.

The noise cancelling works perfectly and I appreciate the different options offered. I tested them at home with the TV volume pretty high and I enjoyed the silence. Looking forward to trying these on my next flight.

My issue is with the bluetooth connection that isn’t 100% stable. Taking out a single bud should not cause an issue but it does. Music stops and I have to go to the app to get them back working again. When using them for work, I prefer to keep just one bud in, but these were not built for that. The connection is really wonky when I do this, to the point that they are just unusable at work.

I will definitely use them when traveling and to relax at home, but I am disappointed in the stability of the bluetooth, hopefully a software update will fix this in the future.

These super high-end earbuds deliver great sound and functionality, with the only downside being mediocre call quality. Sound fidelity is superb, with crisp high frequencies and rich bass, and excellent resolution (listening to Earth Wind & Fire’s “September”, it’s very easy to hear the cowbell player clanking away in the right channel!). EQ can be set using the Devialet Gemini app, which can be handy if the music app you’re using doesn’t have its own EQ. Touch controls respond well, and can be customized using the app. The Smart Pause feature (which automatically pauses playback if you take an earbud out of your ear, then resumes playback once you reinsert it) works quickly and flawlessly, unlike others I’ve tried that have a significant delay before the pause or playback.

Pairing is easy, and Multipoint Connection works perfectly (I tested this on my Pixel 7 Pro and Pixelbook). Bluetooth range is good to at least 50-60 ft, as long as no walls are in the way.

The earbuds were comfortable, even after wearing them constantly for more than an hour. Build quality seems excellent — they’re plastic, but with a nice texture so that they’re not slippery pebbles that will zip out of your hands when handling them.

The case is a nice shape and size for slipping into a pocket — not bulky, with no sharp edges. There’s a snazzy polished chrome band around the case, but this picks up fingerprints like crazy, so you may end up polishing it nonstop. The case can be charged via USB-C or wirelessly.

The one negative about these earbuds is call quality, which is decidedly mediocre. My voice on the other end (tested with someone else listening, as well as leaving a voicemail to myself) is somewhat crackly, with intermittent muffling. I’ve noted much better call quality on Pixel Buds and Poly Lens Freedom 60 buds. One could argue that people don’t use cellphones for phone calls any more, but some of us do, and it can be very important for work, so for a $400+ pair of earbuds, I would expect better call quality.

Devialet Gemini II wireless earbuds are like magic. Seriously, the sound quality is mind-blowing! It’s not just good; it’s like having a concert in your head. The highs, mids, and lows are on point, making your music sound clear and full.

It doesn’t matter if you’re into classical tunes or upbeat jams; the Gemini II makes it all sound amazing. It’s like discovering your favorite songs all over again.

Comfort-wise, they’re great. They fit snugly, and you won’t lose them, even if you’re moving around a lot. But my ears don’t ache while or after wearing them either. The touch controls are easy to use, and the noise cancellation works like a charm, so you can say goodbye to background noise. These have some of the most effective active noise cancellation I’ve used when it comes to earbuds.

Battery life is solid too. Long wear time plus of course the charging case. Overall, if you love music and want earbuds that make your favorite songs sound incredible, go for the Devialet Gemini II. These earbuds are considered luxury and the price reflects that, but so does the quality.

Super impressed with these earbuds. They offer a great sound stage with superior music listening quality. Mids, highs, and lows are all crisp and these get super loud. Bluetooth connectivity is very strong and I can walk several feet away from the source without any degradation. Setup was easy by pushing the button on back of the sleek case which btw has wireless charging. The earbuds fit in my ears perfectly and lock into place. They do not move or fall out like some other leading brands do. Ive always had issues with earbuds staying put but not with these. They are so good. The touch controls are very intuitive but you’ll need to read the quick start guide to figure out the taps required to turn volume up and down, change tracks ect. Battery life is also really impressive and I do not get any ear fatigue wearing these for hours. I have the white model and I must say I’m impressed with their fit and finish. Really Top quality product and design. The case is sleek and has a nice design as well and will easily slip into a pocket. I listened to different genres of music and I was really happy with the way these sound with all music. These are a tad pricey at 450.00 but they do definitely deliver at that price point. I could without a doubt recommend these over other brands. Do yourself a favor and check these out.

I’ve never been a big user of Earbuds as they always tend to get uncomfortable for me after long listening periods. This being the case, I normally stick with Over-the-Ear Headphones, not just for comfort but for the level of quality they bring that Earbuds cannot.

The feel and look of them is very much a premium one which you’d expect for anything above a couple hundred dollars. They’re backed by a 2 year warranty as well so you truly can’t go wrong there. Not only are getting a premium product, but you’re getting one that the company is glad to stand behind.

Enter the Gemini II. These have been nothing but fantastic. The sound Quality from these is astounding. The previous Earbuds I had been using were quite good, the best I had used up until that time.

The audio quality really is on another level. I generally enjoy my music with a lot of Bass, regardless of the Genre. These things deliver astounding levels of bass, much more than you’d ever expect from something so compact. I listened to several diffent genres, Rock, EDM, Hip Hop and even some Classical tracks. They truly shine with anything the has a focus on the low end, so if you’re a Bass head, I genuinely think these would be more than worth investment. These truly are something you’re making an investment in given the price. If that’s not a concern to you, I’d say look no further than the Gemini II’s. There’s really not any music they can’t handle.

Battery life is great. In one of testing at around 1/3-1/2 volume They dropped around 5-10%. Quite respectable for earbuds. Some of the brands I’ve had over the years, I was lucky to get more than 3 hours off a single charge. Your mileage will vary of course depending on the music you’re listening to and the loudness of it. The Case is also very nice and compact. It can charge the earbuds as well like a lot of other competitors in this space. The design of the case is quite slick.

The Noise Cancellation is pretty good. The ability to toggle Transparency for a more Open Ear kind of experience and the closed off Cancellation is very much welcome. I didn’t test much in the Noise Cancellation mode, but of what little I did they do a good job of filtering out any distractions.

The Devialet Gemini App is good. It’s easy to setup and navigate. I think the only thing I could see as an improvement is integration with other Apps like Spotify, Pandora, Tidal etc. Some other earbuds and headphones I’ve used, the manufacturer’s app integrated with these and you could control the music. There is an EQ you can adjust. It’s not got a lot of customization as it’s only a 6 band EQ, but it does give you some flexibility to tailor the Audio to your tastest.

I really don’t know how much more I can say about these aside from them being the best dang earbuds I’ve ever used. If you’ve got the income to to splurge and treat yourself with, these will very much do the job and more.

The Devialet Gemini II earbuds are a premium set of earbuds that I assume any audiophile would respect and love to have a pair of, from the few weeks I have spent with them they truly seem first class. The sound profile on these earbuds are amazing and I can clearly hear tones in songs that I’ve rarely heard without studio quality headphones. With that said they are not studio quality headphones but they are arguably the best set of wireless earbuds on the shelf currently. The set comes in a nicely designed case that in my opinion flaunts its higher quality, the box contains the charging cable and 3 additional pairs of noise isolation ear tips. Downloading the Devialet app is amoreless essential as this will provide an essential update that you honestly need to perform before using so that you are introduced to the full potential of these buds. Via the app you can customize your listening experience to your liking via the equalizer, you can also control the stereo balance and turn on/off the noise cancellation mode, speaking of, the latter works as well as any pair I have ever owned or used. The connection strength is rock solidand I-phone pairing is easy and quick. The sound quality is very crisp and clear with suprisingly decent bass, if anything is missing it may be a slight bit in the mids but it is pretty close to spot on. I love the design, the fidelity & the comfort as well as the ease of use. They are pricey but all great things come at a cost.

Very surprised with a perfect device with great sound and a long battery life
