I bought this after having installed a 7.2 surround system with the AVR-X3700H for some friends w new Polk speakers and really liked it. Couldn’t quite afford the AVR-X3700H so this was a good alternative!

My old Denon theater receiver was knocked out by lightning. I ;liked Denon so much that I replaced it with a brand new Denon model that was similar to my old one.

I’ve always had Denon receivers (well there was a Yamaha in there at one point) and this 2700 checks all the boxes that I needed at a reasonable price. Denon and Marantz are also now the same company. Two of the best names in receivers have now merged 🙂
Routing my RoKu 2022 Ultra streaming box and Panny 820 DVD player through the Denon to my LG-G2 “77 OLED works perfectly. Audio and Video route smoothly via E-ARC. There are no lip-sync delay issues or any other problems. There’s more than enough power to run my 5.2 system efficiently via my Martin Logan and B&W speakers.

This unit (AVR-X2700) failed after the calibration and final hook up. Geek Squad number 2 came back after Shawn at local store set up a fix and all seems to be working well.

This was my first ever Denon purchase– normally a Sony guy. I do notice better sound quality then my previous Sony, however, I have not been able to keep the unit from shutting off “randomly” when using my Apple TV, with my Sony TV. Now I will say that I have had “fits” with the Sony TV from the day it came home. I almost regret not taking it back to Best Buy, but the picture was so nice.. Fast forward to upgrading to the Denon. I have tried everything I can think of to fix the issue. Right down to spending $$$ on 8K certified HDMI cables — which believe it or not really did improve the picture. But to no avail. While watching the Apple TV though the Denon the picture will randomly go black. I fix it by switching the Denon from the input to another video input then back.
So, while the sound from this unit id not disappointing at all, it certainly is disappointing that it doesn’t play well with my other toys.

A very nice AVR with very smooth sound and plenty of options, dose take time figure everything out, not too dificult if you understan electronics and audio, very well built. now with that said the remote app needs some work, alot of bugs. the x3700 that is 500 more was a option but unless you want to add seperate amps its not necessary for the x2700H dose a great job, now if you don’t have high efficient speakers you might want the x3700 otherwise stick with the x2700 and you no be pleased.

Very happy with set up and performance. I’ve owned several Onkyo AV Receivers before this (and still own one) and feel the Denon set up and performance is a bit better than Onkyo. Smart Device app works well. I use it to turn on and manage Zone 2 which I have set up to drive outdoor speakers. It would be nice if mid-priced receivers had the ability to play digital sources through Zone 2 instead of just analog sources (when Zone 2 has a different source than the main zone). This unit does not have that ability. You have to spend a lot more to get that feature.

I purchased this Denon AVR-X2700H receiver after receiving a defective Yamaha receiver, which I returned for an Onkyo receiver, which was also Defective. Returned it and gave the Onkyo a 2nd chance and ordered another one. It was also defective (what are the odds of getting 3 defective receivers in a row??). I ended up ordering this Denon receiver directly from Denon, got a fantastic price with an additional $50 discount (January, 2023) . Maybe they are coming out with a newer model? In any event, this receiver is phenomenal! Super easy setup. They automatic surround sound programming is the best of any receiver I’ve owned (about 8 over the past 15 or so years). The features included with this receiver are amazing. The HEOS app works flawlessly as well as the Denon Remote Control app on my phone. The sound is outstanding through my in ceiling Klipsch speakers and floor standing Klipsch sub woofer. I’m super impressed with everything about this receiver.

This has been terrible from day one. It turns it self off randomly, turns its self down randomly, changes inputs randomly. We have reset it and another Denon owner over and had them try and help reset it and reinstall it.

Have had some problems with this receiver. It has problems communicating with my cable box and does weird things giving mixed pictures that don’t match sound. Or it will show picture on tv and I still don’t know where the picture comes from. I’ve had to do a hard reboot to fix the problem. Fortunately, this has worked.

My first AVR so not a lot to compare it to. So far my experience has been good. Movies and music sound great, sometimes rear speakers get boosted a little too loud with Audissey. I have 5.1 system hooked up and it gets plenty loud with 6ohm speakers and a 4ohm center speaker.
