    Great speaker. Lower price, as a possible discontinuation of item may be contemplated. Big sound. Get them while they are still available. Some items are OK to buy second hand, but speakers are not one of them.

    Using these solely for music as a second pair of stereo speakers in a phono set-up. Still in the break in period (about 3-4 hours in) and they have a little brightness much like Klipsch. They handle all the power I can throw at them, and still sound clean. Hoping they will warm up a bit, if not, I will introduce a sub into the equation. Very happy with these overall. Great value for the money.

    This is my first purchase with Definitive speakers. The speaker produce the best effect as front speakers and you can feel the thunder in the basement. It is in compact in size but performance is phenomenal. Every penny is worth spending on this subwoofer.

    The ProMonitor 1000s have a surprisingly big sound for such a small speaker. After testing it out with test CDs and a spectrum analyzer, I found that it had crisp, clear treble far beyond what I could hear. The bass was solid and dynamic down to 80hz. If you want lower with such a small speaker, you need a subwoofer. You could spend a lot more money for very little in return. For the vast majority of music listeners, this is the most speaker you will ever need. (Again, for thunderous base, especially in movies, get a sub.)

    I purchased these as rear side speakers for my 5.1 surround system. They sound great. It is amazing how much sound these small speakers put out. I replaced some older Infinity speakers that were much larger and these put out more sound. Highly reccomended.

    I am using 4 pro monitors as surround speakers in a 7.1 These are fantastic speakers. Great clarity and good bass from a small (mid) speaker. I have them paired with pro monitor 2000 center, D9’s as left/right and D10 sub. The whole system blends perfectly.

    I originally bought a pair of these speakers 10 years ago for use with the Denon receiver. After finding a way to add rear speakers to my system through Rocketfish Wireless Rear Speaker Kit, I was delighted that these same speakers were still available. I did not hesitate to purchase them. Great sound even with high volume. Never disappointed.

    To untrained ears, you set these up and watch a movie or listen to music, might sound good. I used these in my home theater for about 2 years. I bought a few other brands and tested them all at the same time, running them full range (took off my normal 80hz crossover), and these were the obvious loser. Really poor bass, which I knew def techs were bad at bass when I tested their sub vs other subs same time, the bass radiators do a terrible job. I wasn’t using a calibrated mic and measurements, but to my ears, it was clear the treble was really elevated, and any sort of mid bass to bass was almost gone, all the instruments you can hear in other speakers, just weren’t here, its missing a lot of frequencies. Give Polk signature series & Wharfedale diamonds a look in similar price ranges.

    Already with the 800s for the rear surrounds, I bought the 1000s to serve as the rear speakers. They provide a little more bass response than the 800s and are just as clear. My 7.2 system now sounds very immersive.
