Don’t buy a DT Subwoofer!!!
You would be smart to compare to SVS for Sound, Price, Reliability and most important Customer Support from “Definitive Technology”. Best Buy is Great but after the store warranty expires you will find that “DT” could care less. Do not buy this junk assembled in China where parts are now non existent. Buy anything else who actually cares about your loyalty!!!

Back story, first. Bought the D11 as fronts – bought 2 of these to couple to them- Boom, floorstanding speakers. Pleastantly surprised. These speakers have a bit of an edge on the BP lineup – you can hear the difference in the finesse and the imaging. They stand up to what you buy into. But, with that said, they obviously lacked in the bass area- so I signed up for some BN8s. They hit hard, true, and with enough impact to really pick up everything I want out of my D11s. With that said, I would categorize these guys as “accompanying” subs. They are not mains. They are assistance. But, they do it fantastically. For what I wanted, I am not disappointed. Why grab those crazy 1700 speakers from their lineup when you can do what I did?? 🙂 save your money.

Had some trouble setting it up. Couldn’t find the correct cable and even Best Buy associate was no help. Then finally got the correct cable but still wouldn’t play. Had to call DT and they were a huge help with configuring my Receiver. Sub works great and sounds awesome!

Wow, just replaced D T’s older 8″ sub with their new Descend DN8 Sub. What an improvement, very good instructions, it blends in perfectly with the towers so the sound is full but not over powering, it really perks up my 7.1 system .

My Definitive Technologies Descend DN8 Sub-woofer has a fantastic sound.
I had never wanted one prior to me also purchasing my new Dennon AVR S960S 7.2 4K Ultra Receiver. Together with my current floor standing speaker that I have had for many years and the Center and Rear Speakers make this subwoofer sing.
The bass coming from the 3-8″ speakers radiates through the living room.
Some subwoofers radiate to the floor. This radiates in 3 directions. It can handle up to 500 RMS power.
You’ve got to listen to this 12x12x12 unit to believe what it is putting out. You can make easy adjustments to the bass level and volume on the back of the unit. GREAT!!!

Added it system which I have the old def tech SC 2000 so it was a close match. Looks good, small, and produces for the cost.
Now with the new line of AV receivers that supports 4 subs with individual calibration will add another sub. SVS is supposed to be the go to sub woofer and their cost reflects it but looking for equipment that’s designed in 2022. New products just being released however in a sub not much to it that the DN8 doesn’t have.

For the size, this sub puts out great bass in our basement viewing area. Only needed one to replace a sub we were borrowing that was similar size. Was a little nervous that I might regret getting the smaller unit but it is more than enough for movies/streaming/gaming.

I’m replacing a ProSub 1000, 10″ sub with this 8″—and I’m incredibly impressed. The amount of bass this thing puts out into a room is absolutely incredible. If I didn’t know it was an 8″ I’d think it was a 12″ with a much higher wattage. Couldn’t be happier!

I purchased this sub-woofer from Best Buy. I love the and sound quality and the ease of setting it up. My only disappointment was that they gave me a date for delivery for 3 days from purchase. That didn’t work and I had a delay as the item had to be shipped to me from the factory in California. The wait turned out to be worth it.

I chose this subwoofer because definitive traditionally has done a great job with discrete subwoofers, even being famous for putting them in their tower speakers. This subwoofer has a small form factor that fits great in my room. I was worried about the outer cover that is fabric being full of dog hair but thats not the case at all. In my large open livingroom/kitchen concept it sounds amazing.
