We’ve had a great experience with our Samsung refrigerator with built in touch screen so when our cooktop failed, we sprung for this Dacor which is the high end version of Samsung. The built in touch screen is awesome and responds well even with water on it. Unreal to watch recipe videos, which also walk you through how to cook step by step including recommended burner settings, etc. I installed the unit by myself and it was easy to do (of course, you should always consult an electrician). The virtual flame is cool. The flex cooktop area is cool, although it’s hard to find induction compatible griddle pans for whatever reason. Overall the induction is quieter and cooks faster than our previous Electrolux induction cooktop. The Smartthings app integration is so-so, but no surprise as Smartthings overall is disappointing. The fridge see the cooktop but can’t access it. The phone works fine with it. I’d like to see the individual burner timers be able to shut off the burner at timer completion (via a setting). Would be great if you could set hot things on top of the screen and buttons. Not sure if the screen will get scratched. Im contemplating adding a custome screen protector. We’re only a few days into ownership and very pleased thus far. This is a high end, high tech unit. Hopefully it will last longer than our Electrolux which lasted 12 years. Time will tell!
