Murphy –
Testing them out prior to actual eclipse. Great item. Hope they work as well during eclipse.
MJOinSC –
They are relatively small compared to other binoculars I’ve owned, and thus a little tricky to spot what you’re looking for (e.g. the sun). Bought for the “Great American Eclipse” and they worked as one would expect. However, note that they are ONLY good for solar viewing; i.e. they aren’t regular bi’s with a filter. Filter is built-in so it’s the sun or nutt’n.
robertgolf –
I used these binoculars for the solar eclipse in Salem Oregon and they performed excellent. I could even see sun spots on the sun. Worth the price
Willow –
Bought this for the 2017 eclipse. It is light weight and easy to hold. The whole neighborhood used them.
Tabascoverde –
These were very useful during the recent solar eclipse. Especially since finding glasses was impossible. Very useful and enjoyable since the eclipse as well.
PS4Player –
I purchased this to see solar flares but I could not spot anything easily. Otherwise good for terrestrial use.
Need to calibrate this first after removing the solar filter before first use.
Pfflyerman –
Despite reading reviews that complained about diopter adjustment failure I bought these anyway for 1200 mile trip to view 2017 Eclipse in Oregon. Sure enough when I went to use them the diopter adjustment failed. I don’t know if the rubber slipped or ??? Next time I will pay more attention to reviews.
Spacegirlmom –
Viewed the 2017 eclipse with these. Great size. Was able to see sunspots.
palmspringsbusiness –
Perfect binocular to view sun. ISO certified. Great for eclipse but have also used it since. Can also remove protective lenses and use as a regular binocular. Reasonably priced.
Pops –
Got these for the eclipse and they worked GREAT…
BogusChinchilla –
These binoculars have a unique and very specific use; safely view the sun. They allow the user to do just that, and that alone. When viewing the sun with them during the total eclipse, which I observed at the Buffalo Ranch in WY, I was able to clearly see the sun spots on the sun at the time. These binoculars are that good. I caution that care must be taken when adjusting, using and focusing as you’re looking at the sun while focusing and if you break the seal and expose your eyes; the sun is right there. BE CAREFUL!
BadBlood –
Like millions of Americans, I was excited to see the total solar eclipse in August of 2017. I thought the binoculars were a great buy for the price and would offer me a unique view of the event that I may never see again. Honestly, I had trouble lining up the sun with my gaze through the binoculars and I ended up just using my Solar glasses for most of my viewing, but I’m glad I go the binoculars and I did find the sun once and it was pretty cool.
Pfflyerman –
Read other reviews that expressed issues with diopter adjustment and…. they were correct. Offered replacement but I said for what…almost ruined my eclipse trip and next one isn’t until 2019 in south america.
Guru123 –
If you missed the solar eclipse don’t worry, you will get another chance. Buys these early
SpaceMovieBuff –
During the recent Full Eclipse, used these binoculars to view the sun. Spotted 3 sun spots, and the view of the eclipse was spectacular. Would recommend for anyone interested in solar observation!
Humbug007 –
I bought this in anticipation of the eclipse. I was not disappointed. They were an adjunct to the eclipse glasses we all used. One could even see sunspots on the surface of the sun.
JazzNBluesDude –
worked great for the solar eclipse. Ten times mag to see it much better
TomA –
This was not what I was expecting. I knew they were eclipse binoculars, but I thought they could also be used as regular binoculars as well. That is not the case. Even during the eclipse, it was difficult to find the sun. I had better luck with $5 eclipse glasses. They are not worth $35 for just when there is an eclipse. I take responsibility for not reading the information carefully. Luckily, Best Buy allowed me to return them. Love the myBestBuy program!!
Rusty –
Was a minute purchase and it and wish it was bigger but it worked
TBAR –
Purchased these for the total solar eclipse which we viewed in Casper, WY. These were perfect. Compact enough and provided a lot of detail when viewing the eclipse. Even when using for just viewing the sun on any day could see quite a bit including sun spots and solar flares. Well worth the money.
NJLee –
Very cool solar binoculars. You will generally only see the sun, but clouds can been see as well if in front of the sun. Looking at solar eclipse or sunspots is cool.
GlockFan –
Bought these for the last Solar Eclipse and they worked like a charm .. Much better then the standard glasses.
KGNY –
Worked well for viewing the solar eclipse. Would have been better if magnification of the product was better.
King –
poor quality not advisable to buy this product. do not recommend.
Jschul –
Used these during the solar eclipse and they worked well. Took a bit of time to locate the sun with these though. When you look through them you’ll have to move them around until you see a white circle which is the sun. Great being able to say I witnessed the solar eclipse in my lifetime without eye damage
Gatawoman –
We used these to look at the solar eclipse and it was amazing
Dmarshx –
These are great anytime for solar viewing. They were perfect for the solar eclipse.
SolonSolar –
It was harder than I expected to point these binoculars at the sun. I practiced several times before the solar eclipse but didn’t really get the hang of it. But once you find the sun you can see sunspots and such, so I expect to bring them out again for casual observing.
AReviewer –
These worked great for the solar eclipse. And I’ve been able to see sun spots. Cool.
Littlebebe –
Used these to watch the eclipse and was not disappointed. Great clarity. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
DaveTX –
I bought these solar filtered binoculars for the 2017 total eclipse of the sun. The EclipSmart 10×25 binoculars provided a good view of the sun during the partial eclipse phases of the event. They are also good for looking at sun spots.
JeffH –
Optics are good but 10X magnification isn’t enough to see good detail of the Sun. A tripod helps steady it so you can see sunspots. It’s not a bad low cost way to look at eclipses but you can’t see any real detail on the sun’s surface. Disappointing in that respect.

Solar eclipse is coming April 2024. These will allow you to look at the sum and experience the entire eclipse, not just the darkness and cold that results. Having seen the last solar eclipse these binoculars will give you another dimension of the solar eclipse.
JuandiegoL –
excellent product ideal for seeing the sun, I had a great experience with the 2023 eclipse
DannyFANTom –
Worked incredible!!! Watched the sunset here in New Mexico with these things.
Oren –
They worked as I had hoped, I can find sun spots and was able to observer the recent annular eclipse quite easily.
FernandoV –
This is a must to have item; my wife and I were able to fully see the most recent solar eclipse in Albuquerque, NM.
Geeno –
These binoculars are a welcom addition to anyone’s sky viewing arsenal. To view the sun without fear of eye damage makes them an excellent product. We viewed the recent eclipse and were marveled by what we saw. A far better sight than non binocular solar glasses. Plus these will last forever and provide us with many opportunities to view the sun. It does take a few moments to point them correctly to achieve optimal viewing. We definitely recommend this product.
Tanispyre –
Amazing clarity. Easy to see sun spots and other details on the sun. 10X magnification can take a little practice to locate the sun in the field of view.
EclipseViewer –
Just OK. A little difficult to align. Made the sun look white for some reason. Preferred the cheap cardboard glasses.
MNJr –
it works well, good quality and easy to use!
I will use on the next solar eclipse.
Solarsister –
Great for solar eclipses especially in areas where itmay be more difficult to see
KateJ –
We bought these for the recent eclipse, and they were really great. A little challenging to aim, since you cant see anything other than the eclipse, but youll find it by scanning around
user896562 –
Good product at a fair price. These are eclipse viewing binoculars only.
JohnnyMonkey –
Good quality, good price, excellent size to just throw in a bag for everyday walk or travel.
JosephC –
Great solar binoculars. Very dark. It may take you some time to find the sun! One thing missing is a way to mount on a tripod. If you are very steady, or have something to lean against, it won’t matter.
PeonyB –
Got these for an eclipes party on my sons birthday. He and others said they worked great. I couldn’t see anything but black. But i have. Binocular vision disorder- so pretty sure thats why lol
ncm222 –
It was very hard to even know if we were seeing what we wanted to see. We bought them for the eclipse and I got more enjoyment using a pin hole in a box method to view the eclipse. Maybe we just did it wrong but that just speaks to the product not being bery user friendly. They feel very well made and sturdy thats why I gave it 2 stars but disappointed for why we bought them.
Bridgetteo –
Not user friendly. Confusing when it needsadjusting
TammyV –
They did not work had to take them back to Bestbuy. They could not get them to work either.
