This product has really been amazing! I got it for my husband for his birthday and he said hes never had a better lens!
Yaruq –
Sharp and fast- best part is the dial that you can customize for anything such as aperture or iso settings- great lens for low light
EricC –
If you are a beginner photographer starts from small and cheaper lens until step for a better lens.
GeorgeS –
Great lens! I have to buy another camera bc it doesn’t fit on my m50 but gets great pictures
MaggieT –
Best “budget” RF lens for both portait and Macro photography.
AndrewH –
When I bought this lens I was sort of skeptical of using an 85mm prime. But when I put it on my canon r10 it was truly a blessin
KristinaK –
My dream lens , I am so happy with the quality , and this price was the best
CynthaT –
Great lens, I really like how easy it is to use the lens and get great quality images. Whether I am inside or outside this lens is great.
AnthonyR –
Great lens with insane bokeh. A little slow to focus for moving objects, but awesome for portrait and macro photography. Also slow for video but beautiful lens effects on still shots.
Budz –
It is a very good quality lens for mirrorless camera. The bokah is awesome. And doesn’t break the bank.
AlexSky –
Great Lens! Would recommend to anyone who likes to focus on something!
SamanthaE –
Absolutely LOVE this lens! it’s now my go to lens for my photo shoots- I never change it! The only thing that bothers me sometimes is how slow the focus can be.
EAldinger –
I returned this. My $100 canon ef 50mm 1.8 lens outperforms this lens in every scenario. I shoot wedding videography and need something much sharper and quicker with the auto focus. Save your money and get the canon ef 50mm 1.8 stm with adapter for your EOS R and thank me later!! FRFR

I didn’t like the sound. But the pictures look great.

For the price you just can’t beat this amazing macro, especially for portraits!
Kyle –
Extremely amazing photos with this lens. I use it with a canon R6 and couldn’t be happier.
amit –
Not a great choice. L series have better quality and performance.
jdunc87 –
The mirrorless world isn’t know for “affordable” lenses that are really worthwhile. This isn’t one of those times though. This lens competes really well with lenses double and triple its price. The bokeh is fantastic. It performs well in the portrait world.
MorganR –
This lense is a must have for all photographers!!! I highly recommend it!
Chris –
Overall, for the price, this lense is hard to beat. Very sharp, fast(ish) focus, great compression. The bokeh and stabilization are awesome. My one nitpick is that the focus isn’t super fast. It’s okay, but I definitely notice some of my photos not coming out as sharp as I’d like. But when it’s focused, it’s beautifully sharp. Overall I’d definitely recommend it!

Took lens to Alt.Cty had great experience.preformed great at short distance.
PBROPICS –
It’s a beautiful lens. I wish i would have purchased this instead of my cheap Canon 50mm awhile back. As this lens is sharp and perfect for portraiture.

The Canon RF f/2 Macro lens is very sharp with snappy AF, great colors and contrast- as you would expect from Canon. It is also stabilized which is a big plus shooting portraits in low light. IS is not that big of a deal in macro because I often shoot with a tripod for macro shots. Though, plastic has been used extensively in its construction it still feels solid while being light. Great lens for portraits and macro shooting! Best Buy service, like always, is excellent!!!
Jondagamer –
Quality lens and macro functions are useful for product photography. Be sure to always check the little switch that limits the focus distance. Not having correct for your subject distance will make the camera hunt for focus indefinitely.
Victoria –
Im very impressed with the macro capability. Overall a great lens for portraits!
50mm –
This is a great lens for beginners. It is much more affordable than the alternative RF 85mm f1.2! The picture quality and bokeh is excellent.
CanonPhotographer4u –
PRO:
– good focal length for portraits
– small, compact, lightweight
– f/2.0 fast aperture, nice BOKEH blur
– IS image stabilized
– Macro 1:2
-Customizable ring on lens, like for ISO or aperture etc.
CON:
– Macro is only half life size (1:2 vs 😉
– Not L lens
– Focus hunts sometimes, not recommended for action (better in the L-version 85mm f/1.2)
**Note: I have certain preferences which this lens did not could fulfill completely.
Still a good alternative to professional L-lenses.***

The Canon 85mm lens is awesome! It’s a fantastic addition to my lens collection. The portraits it produces always come out alive and stunning.
SarahW –
Lightweight but durable. Great price and amazing photo quality. Perfect for portraits and macro shots.
JdoubleU –
The lens is lightweight and produces great images. However, bokeh is not much different than 24-70 f2.8. Also, AF is terribly slow and for any macro shots of anything but flowers fails miserably. Ultimately I will be returning the lens.
ballie725 –
Beautiful bokeh and a great price! I would recommend it for portrait and pet photography.
JRHale –
I’m a big fan of the RF line of Canon lenses and this 85mm macro lens doesn’t disappoint. The clarity, sharpness, and colors that this lens can capture are fantastic. Whether I’m doing macro photography, portraits, or landscapes this lens continues to be my new favorite piece of kit.
SusanM –
I absolutely love this lens. I use it for macro and portraits. Beautiful crisp clear images. This is the lens that usually stays on my camera. Took a little time to get the hang of using all the settings on this lens.
Jocelyn –
Highly recommend, good quality, perfect for special events and making good memories
BertrandA –
Best budget lens, highly recommended for photography. Don’t dare use this for video
Angelstereo –
It is nice to go from macro photography to telephoto zooming on the fly.
CoraG –
A beautiful lens that is great for portraits. I know it’s not a prime lens so the quality isn’t top tier but it’s great for a “budget” lens. I use it more than my 50mm
Manny –
Lens is reliable sharp and easy to use has IS for steady video
Trey –
Amazing lens for price very clear takes amazing photos
DustinH –
Great lens if you don’t plan on buying the zoom. I really do love this lens though. It’s each to use and affordable
SkyA –
The BEST portrait lens. Closer than the 50mm and so clear. The bokeh effect is super! But it is heavy, but if you can hold your phone in your hand all day then you got this!!
BakrH –
It’s a great camera, I use it to take up close jewelry photos from about a foot away. This allows me a deeper depth of field and I don’t have to do any photo stacking. Solved a lot of my problems.
KyleR –
Fantastic lens photos turned out better than expect from a wedding at the shot
RodneyB –
The autofocus and clarity are great. I greatly recommend this lens.
SamanthaL –
Incredible quality for the price, so glad I snagged this lens!
Holly –
It’s a nice lens I just don’t like the slight noise of makes with being moved (off mount) . Iv read that is common with this lens to hear the blades move.
Jadaaaa –
Beautiful Lens ! Got to use this bad boy over Christmas
ManuelMC –
Better lens for the price. Budget friendly and performs like a pro.
FemiB –
This item did not fit my camera even though it was recommended by a specialist in one of your stores. I was very dissappointed (Case #326 005 665). I reported this and was told that my refund would be processed upon return but a stocking fee of $75 was assessed. Please refund that fee as I was incorrectly advised by your Associates.
AmyR –
So far it’s great for the price point. I love a 50mm but this is a great lens to have for portraits!
