    Impeccable. The best of all worlds. Feels like a prime with zoom. I used to carry a 15-30, 70-200 while traveling and constantly be switching between them. After getting this beast, I no longer change my lenses and stick with this almost in every situation. Pictures are super sharp and have that smooth flair that one typically sees in images shot on primes.

    The lens can however, start hunting for focus in low light. That happens more often than not, in fact a lot more than my tamron 15-30. The lens is pretty heavy as well, but for the quality it offers, it’s a fair compromise.

    Other than that it’s flawless. Canon R5 + RF 28-70 is the perfect combination.

    Ive been able to shoot great video with this lens and when i need to crop in because 70mm is too short im amazed by how crisp the quality is as i zoom in more and more. Truly versatile and quality lens. If 70 is too short trust me. Youll be able to crop in 100%and not loose quality

    If your a portrait or wedding photographer this is the glass you want. Not that you need it there are plenty of great glass out there. This one is TOP NOTCH and will do the heavy lifting for you.

    This lens is incredible!! I cannot say enough good things about the 28-70. I use this lens paired with my Canon R6 for mostly wedding and portrait photography. The auto focus is wicked fast, the photos are always tack sharp, and the bokeh is very beautiful. I’ve always preferred prime lenses. I was unsure if this lens would be good enough to replace the need to carry around multiple prime lenses in my camera bag, but I’m happy to say it did!! This is my go to lens for all my professional client work!
    I will say I do not recommend this lens for travel because of the size.

    Sharpness is impossible to explain, even wide open! you see anything and everything, the out of focus blur is super smooth. Given its f/2 don’t expect the background to completely disintegrate but comparing to a 2.8 or f/4 its unparalleled.

    Amazing lens, way better then the 24-70 2.8. That .8 makes a big difference. If you are on the fence on it get it you won’t regret it. Paired with the r6 it is super stable with video.

    This lens replaces main primes (28/35/50 and 70mm), but it is not comfortable for walking in the park with family. My sugestion is to buy rf 50mmf 1.8 for everyday use. Rf 28-70 f2.0 is sharp and fast, but huge and heavy. Overall it’s amazing lens.

    If you’re hesitating between the 24-70 and the 28-70.. stop, close your eyes and take a deep breath… open, and buy this one. You will NOT regret purchasing the 28-70.

    As a concert photographer, and someone who loves prime lenses. This lens DOES IT ALL. There is a noticeable separation from subject and background at f/2 vs f/2.8. It is a heavy lens but anyone who has shot old EF glass / DSLR really wont notice a massive difference.

    I’ve shot video on this as well thinking I would get better footage from the 24-70 because of the IS, and I was surprised to noticed the IBIS from my R6 provided an unnoticeable difference between the two. The only thing you may have to take into consideration is gimbal max weight, if you’re running a cheaper gimbal, you might not be able to balance it as well with the 28-70 vs the 24-70. I also have a 15-35mm so the loss of “24-28mm” really isn’t a big deal to me.

    This is the ultimate every day carry lens. Landscapes, Animals, Concerts, Events, Portraits. This lens can do it all!

    I am incredible happy with this lens and have zero buyers remorse after using the 24-70mm and 28-70mm back to back.

    This is a beautiful lens and convenient for shooting weddings and events due to the zoom. Photos are fantastic and the 2.0 is clutch. However, it isn’t as fast as my primes and misses focus more frequently. I’d give it 5 stars if it could keep up.

    This is probably the best photo zoom lens ever produced! It’s as sharp as a razor, no perceivable distortion, and it’s a zoom lens that opens up to an incredible f2!

    The only real con of this lens is the weight. It is definitely heavy! I believe it weighs more than my 70-200mm f2.8, making it the heaviest lens I currently own. However, I will say that without a doubt, this lens, the image, and the feel give you a sense of completeness as it washes away any sense of imposter syndrome. You get paid well for your job because the average person will not go buy this lens.

    This lens lacks the IS of the smaller, less capable, and lesser image the 24-70mm has. For most cameras, this will not be an issue, as cameras like the R6 mark II and R5 do great with IBIS with this lens. The weight helps a great deal, as most cinematographers know, but for everything else there’s always a tripod or monopod.

    If you were on the fence about this lens, do yourself a favorite and click the buy now button. You will be too happy about the image quality and capability to worry about “shoulda”, “woulda”, “coulda” to care. This is now my favorite photography zoom lens of all time.

    I was a little worried getting this Lense because everyone kept saying how heavy it is. When I first held it, it was indeed heavy, it is big. But when I actually go out and shot I don’t feel it’s weight weighing down on my arm at all.
    I was debating between the Rf 85mm 1.2 L but I wanted to be able to use it in tight space as well, I was torn between the two but all the experts are saying this is just was good as a prime Len . I love this lens and absolutely no regret, if I had to start over and choose between the 85 and this zoom Len I’d choose this one again.

    Great lens but don’t buy it from Best Buy. Go to B&H. They shipped in a bubble mailer and it arrived broken. Very hard to start a rerun and only have bots to talk to. Very frustrating.

    I really love this lense already it’s one of my bigger purchases for lens and the quality is just great. I love the ability to zoom as I typically use a 35mm for just about everything. This lens just adds a little more ability when it comes to capturing variety of images with standing in one space.

    I’m a professional wedding photographer and just recently switched over to mirrorless. This lens is a GAME CHANGER in the wedding industry. The zoom is actually incredible and works just like a prime lens. No more carrying two camera bodies around on wedding days! It’s heavy and the size of my head but I will never be going back to Prime. This lens is worth the investment.

    This lens is very versatile having a range from 28-70mm is very helpful when shooting a wedding or a big group. I like being able to zoom if needed and that the quality of the image stays sharp.

    It’s as extraordinarily sharp wide-open as it is stopped down! Mortal lenses get softer at their widest apertures while this masterpiece stays just as sharp.
    Autofocus system allows perfect focus for ultrasharp shots wide-open at f/2
