Although I have not explored all the functions of the printer/fax, it is working very well at the moment. Easy set up instructions with on line videos. There is a lot of ink that comes with this unit.

Printer started popping inside and shut down and won’t print. I only had it for 2 1/2 months and am out $250. I did not purchase the protection plus. I don’t recommend this printer. I had to spend another $300 for an Epson printer. Stay away from Cannon

…and the first one still hasnt run out of ink. These are great machines. They are times you wish it would scan or print faster. Perhaps print as you scan, but the amount of money saved in ink makes it a FANTASTIC investment.

So far I really like this printer but have only used it a couple times. The biggest drawback for me is that you must open the front panel for it to operate. This printer sits on a shelf above my computer and head so I can’t see/read the display with that panel open.

I only print a few pages a week and so far no problem at all. It’s plugged at all times so the inks don’t dry out. Looks like it will just work for the next few years without ink/toner. Just love it 🙂

Purchased about a month ago. Easy to set up and use. Love the mega tank concept. Our other printer (Epson) was terrific but ink was expensive and always running out even after limited use. This should be far less aggravating – and hopefully cheaper over the long term. Print quality is good, although I have not printed any photographs yet. I have used the scanner for both photos and multipage documents and I am very pleased with the results.

I have been a Canon printer fan for a number of years. But this printer disappointed me a bit. Only because I was used to a faster printer in my old Canon (can’t recall the model now) .
Other than that, I love the tank design, its efficient use of ink, and the excellent quality of the printed page!
Overall, I would still recommend this printer.

I like that I don’t run out of ink so fast but I have 3 disappointments with this printer.
1. The LCD display doesn’t light up. I can’t see what it’s telling me. Its very difficult to read the instructions when I want to make changes to the printing methods. The glass reflects things in the room because it’s not lit up, making it difficult to read.
2. The Operation Panel needs to be in the “upright” position in order for it to print.
3. The printer needs to be “On”, whereas my other printer (another brand) would come on automatically if I didn’t physically turn it on first. I could be at my computer if I needed to print something without physically turning it on, it would come on automatically.
I don’t like keeping the Operation Panel in the up position because it can be bumped into and damage the printer. And I hate that I have to get up to turn on the printer if I decide to print something. Call me lazy IDC! I don’t have the convenience of having the printer right next to my computer. I have to remember to turn on my printer before using my computer even if I don’t print anything.
Overall it is a nice printer. It does all that I need besides what I mentioned.

Benefits are big ink tank and pages both color and black & white are crisp and clean. Down-sides— jams a lot. And where e it jams isn’t covered in the manual. So I had to spend 20 minutes on hold before I got to speak with someone at Canon who helped me immediately. And the ink shipped with does not fill up color tanks. Though there is extra black ink. Did I mention paper jams?
I do like the scanner which does one-sided paper feed and flat bed scanning.
My MacBook, iPhone and iPod all work with it.
Did I mention the frustration from jamming? Six times in a month. Sigh

This printer/copier/scanner/fax machine worked perfectly for the first four months that I had it. Had to do a lot of scanning, but unfortunately it only scans one side. The past two months I’ve had nothing but trouble! I have to keep reconnecting and logging on to the Canon website.

Having worked for an IT company that managed hundreds of businesses, I have a lot of experience working with printers. This one is as good as it gets given the garbage that gets manufactured for ink jets. I bought one of these for myself a few years ago, and got this one for my mother to replace her old printer. It’s consistently good printing, and hasn’t clogged up or jammed, and it is relatively easy to install and use. These ink bottle models are the future of ink jet printing, don’t buy the cartridge ones, you’ll regret it. I can’t believe I’m doing this, but I’m giving it five stars because I don’t think you’ll find a better ink jet printer out there.

It says there’s 4X6 photo paper inside the box… I’ve just opened to box and there’s no 4×6 photo paper.. photo printing is something I was very excited about testing.. Very disappointed they did not include it! How does that even happen I bought it new….. I’ve looked inside the printer etc… I guess it’s just a false claim.. I’ll go buy my own photo paper to try it out with …
