I have been using the Canon Pro 100 and was happy to see the Pro 300 announced. Because of the continued success I’ve had with the Pro 100…I had purchased the Pro 1000. But It’s a specialty printer for the large 17×22 poster prints and the ink is very expensive. So I even bought another Pro 100 because the prints are that good. So now when the Pro-300 was announced I knew I had to have it. I pre-ordered it and waited a little over a month. It arrived yesterday and I was so happy. I set it up and did my first print…and Yes it continued the quality I’m used to. If there was one thing I noticed that would be a negative is the 8×10 prints slower…on the pro-100 an 8×10 takes 60 seconds but on the pro-300 it takes 4 minutes but given it’s a more quality print that can be understandable. Plus the Pro-300 uses pigment Ink instead of dye inks used in the pro-100.

Easy set up and quickly prints high quality photos.

Replaced my old i9900, with fantastic features. Easy setup, great print quality, and excited to try the panoramic prints, as well as doing own canvas prints.
kalalau –
Exceeds expectations, and coming from an Epson R-2400, it had a rather high bar to surpass. Prints are coming true to the edited screen image, w/o tweaking vibrance or brightness. Best results are coming from Canon Pro Platinum paper, often on the first try. Saves a lot of ink on repeat printing.

This is an amazing printer, 10 inks 4800 dpi, museum quality output. The best part is you do not need to print everyday to own this printer. I have left it over a week and the heads did not clog like my Epson P400. Yes it is expensive but this printer allows you to refill the cartridges. There are high quality,3rd party inks very well balanced for this printer at a fraction of the OEM ink. The output quality is amazing. I shoot Seascapes and Sunrises and self publish my prints and notecards. I spend a lot of time editing my images and this printer accurately reproduces them on gloss, luster and Fine Art Mat papers beautify. If you are serious about photo printing but don’t print every day, get this printer.

I have had this Canon Pro-300 photo printer for almost a month. The quality of the photos is outstanding and very professional. Of course, one must use premium photo paper to reap the benefits of this printer. I use Canon Pro Platinum Photo Paper. This printer is a little pricy and has more features than the average photographer may need, however it’s a great investment to grow into. Note, I had a Canon ip8720 for over 5-years, before stepping up to this Pro-300. Two years earlier I also upgraded to a Canon EOS 5DS-R Camera. I am truly impressed with this photo printer and the design and manufacturing Canon invested.
GraphicDesigner –
Prints outstanding photos. QUALITY! This is used for graphic design work and son’s photography class. The prints are amazing.
Gman –
nice size a bit smaller than the pro 10. Ink seems to be lasting longer and the prints are beautiful.
MrSmith –
Great print quality and I love the idea I can produce a wide range of larger sized prints
mikeb310 –
Excellent printer and a good balance for cost and results. I am a hobbyist photographer and would recommend this printer. I have used it a few times and for larger 13×19 prints. It can print 8×10 and 13×19 border prints in just a few minutes each.
RobertoB –
Excellent printer, a little expensive but the result is wonderful
MetalMegadeth –
its over price and I do not trust canon they are garbage
Dominic –
I really like this printer! The quality of the prints are amazing. I print mostly on fine art paper and this printer handles the paper very well.

The color gamut and spot on color reproduction provided by the Pro-300 and the Lucia Pro pigment ink system is amazing. The nine ink system includes a matte black producing a richer tone to darker areas. The Chroma Optimizer adds depth to colors and blacks. The Pro-300 can handle any size media that I will ever need. Setup was quick and easy. Couple this printer with Canon Professional Print & Layout. The results are a game changer.
MartyC –
Really amazing output, and well worth the investment.

got this printer for my wife who is a photographer and she was impressed by the quality of prints she is able to create now.

I run an online sticker shop. I already have a Canon PIXMA iP8720, and while the stickers I print with it look great, they are not entirely colorfast since dye-based ink is prone to fading. Because of the limitations of dye-based ink, I was very interested in buying a pigment-based inkjet printer. I did my research and the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-300 printer caught my eye due to its relatively low price point for a pigment printer. I’m blown away by how awesome this printer is. It was so easy to set up and connect to my wi-fi network! I was never able to get the iP8720 to connect to wi-fi for whatever reason, and while that’s a great printer, I was always a bit soured on it for that reason. Not so with the PRO-300. The color screen on the front is a lifesaver (the iP8720 has no such screen). Also, the quality of prints is outstanding. I thought my stickers looked sharp until I printed some with the PRO-300–they are sharper and the colors are much truer to the original designs. I’m so happy with this printer. As long as it remains reliable, I will always have nothing but words of praise for it!

I researched a lot of Pro Printers before I selected this one. I am very happy with my purchase. It was easy to use once I downloaded the Canon software and it does a fantastic job!

I purchased thus printer as an upgrade to my Canon crafting printer (TS9521C – which I love). I print a great deal of digital papers, photos and invitations. While I do believe the Canon TS9521C is perfect for crafting I invested in this printer to start a small stationary business.
The set up was easy, and I had no issues with downloading to my computer or iPad. Due to the PRO 300 uses pigment ink vs. dye ink (as the TS9521C does) the prints are sharper as less ink is absorbed into the paper. If you have purchased digital card stock to supplement for retired paper collections, you will not be able to tell the difference between the papers when using together.
However, if you upgrade, note, this is a printer only, so you’ll loose the additional functions of copying and scanning that the TS9521C offers.
In conclusion, though I believe the TS9521C will work for most crafters, if you plan on developing a small stationary business, I would recommend investing in this printer if it is needed for printing only.

The PROGRAF PRO-300 does an excellent job of printing my photographs which I adjust in Adobe Lightroom Classic prior to printing. The quality of the printing is very high. I do use professional printing paper for my projects.

So far so good. I have trouble finding some paper sizes so there is a learning curve. Still not sure I can attach a roll of paper which I want to do, so can’t give a full review.

Best printer I’ve ever owned by miles; I bought this machine to print art projects and it may be a little overkill for what I’m doing. The picture quality is incredible in terms of colour accuracy and picture detail. The printer is compatible with a wide variety of photo papers which offers great flexibility that favours different projects or printing jobs. Unfortunately, a drawback for this printer is maintenance costs; photo papers and ink for this machine can be very pricey but if your budget was planned to include those costs then it shouldn’t come as a surprise.

I was looking for a professional quality photo printer that would print larger size prints as well as beautiful smaller 4x6s many b&w’s. I was stuck between the pro 200 & 300 and finally decided to go with the 300. My mindset was for the extra $200 on the machine and a few dollars more for ink why miss out on a better quality. (Note: I have not seen the print quality of the 200 but this print uses pigment ink has 2 blacks + chroma optimizer total of 10 cartridges vs the 200 which uses dye based ink with 1 black total of 8 cartridges) I couldn’t be happier. I am not a professional photographer, meaning I do not print for high volumes I just wanted to print photos of my family, holiday cards etc. I don’t think I’ve got very had a printer that would print an image identical to what I saw on my screen. I have a Sony a6400 (the swimming & moon photos were taken with a 4.5-6.3/70-350mm zoom fully zoomed in, the dog with an 4/18-105 zoom fully zoomed in) and I printed them on canon pro luster Lu-101. The blacks are so black and rich. My friend that does professional printing was amazed at how high the quality was. I love this machine!
I read other reviews that talked about having a hard time during setup etc – I followed the instructions I also went to canons website and downloaded the drivers. The photos were edited in Lightroom I did not print directly from Lightroom I exported the photo in the size format I wanted printed saved it and then opened the photo on my desktop printed it directly from there not one issue came up. I printed borderless 8.5×11.
My photos are attached, they look much better in person my iphone likes to automatically adjust them after taking the photo so the coloring is off.

Tndpollock –
Prints perfectly, easy to set up and a joy to use. The print resolution is great and the prints turn out exeptional. Delivery was quick.
John –
Great printer for for photos, It does great Black and Whites as well as color prints.
Neto –
The printer is amazing. Was able to print 13 x 19 photos with no issue. But I’m now interested in purchasing the Pro 1000 because I believed the 13 x 19 was big but its not. Overall the printer works great with my phone, Galaxy S22 Ultra. Im able to connect with the wifi and phone with no issue. The prints are amazing! But I do want something bigger.
Imfal3 –
Amazing quality, great product, worth every penny.
anotherDarrell –
Great print quality! …but there is a need for a more reliable method for paper and print settings. The printer settings and the settings on the print driver are not well coordinated.
BenC –
Too many complications with this printer from set up, to color matching/calibration, and customer service/troubleshooting.
Camera –
Great shipping and the printer is exactly what I was expecting. Unfortunately, apparently you don’t get any points in your Best Buy account when you purchase on line. This printer was pretty expensive and I would have expected BB to reward points but i guess not.
Colchester123 –
This printer is capable of producing incredible prints in a wide variety of paper. I have used it to print stunning photos. I would highly recommend this printer if you are a interested in producing the highest quality prints.
Jepprson86 –
Honestly it’s worth the five star since the quality prints are superb but sometimes the slow print is just kinda slow for the price and size of the printer. For a 4×6 print takes over a min too long and the constant changes of settings when you place your paper in the tray. I would have loved it if it maintains the settings so you won’t have that extra step to adjust it unless using different types and sizes for the first time. I think over the air prints kinda lags a bit so a connect from printer to computer approach probably much quicker in response time. Overall, I do love the printer and the quality but of course the price tag can be a deal breaker but fortunately enough I waited until the right price came around which was under $600
And that was still considered steep for my budget but after printing several photos, it’s all worth it at the end!
JayC –
It’s pretty good! Has its moments with connection but overall good quality.
