    I own the version II. The Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II came out in 2010. The Version III came out in 2018.

    The mechanics are the same. But the main difference is the new version has a “Air Sphere Coating (ASC)” to reduce flare and ghosting.

    It’s more of a benefit if you do studio photography.

    This lens is pretty much a must-have for any Canon photographer; you’d had to be a really bad photographer to get bad photos with this lens. This lens pretty much does all the work for you. Plenty of Bokeh

    The only negative is that it’s heavy and expensive.

    I started photography over 20 years ago and always have been wanting one of these. I didn’t want to settle for the F4 and I’m glad I didn’t. It’s truly amazing what this lens can do, it’s the perfect range when used with a full frame camera(5DM4)! Highly recommend.

    This thing is rock solid, and you can get f/2.8 from 70-200, which is pretty sweet. My only complaint is that it gets pretty heaving after a few hours of lugging it around, but totally worth it!

    I rent the RF 70-200 used it for a month great lens but i did a value check and this lens was just as good. Despite being a little longer and heavy i seen no difference in image quality. I shoot with canon R6mii

    Great Lens but a tad bit heavy after a long day of shooting. Sharp images and great focal range. Had to return for repair after about a years worth of shooting sporting events, there was a slight image issue with focusing at a certain distance. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to up their photography game.

    Rated by many as quite possibly the best telephoto zoom on any camera platform for sharpness, color reproduction, flare reduction, focus speed, etc. Adding a 1.4x teleconverter let’s you extend your reach out to 280mm or 320 if you have an APS-C sensor, at the cost of only 1 stop, making it an f4. Put a 2x teleconverter on instead, and you have a 400mm, or 640 on an APS-C sensor camera for the cost of two f stops. Con – it’s a bit heavy (3lb).

    This is an awesome lens. Auto stability is very impressive, focusing is super quick. Sharpness is next level. It is a fairly heavy lens for extended handheld shooting but a monopod takes care of that. I use it for sports photography and it absolutely stops the action with crystal clear detail. Single lipo battery in my EOS 90D powers this lens well beyond 5000 photos in a few hours even using stability and constantly changing focus. Easy and smooth focal adjustment with about a quarter turn adjusting through the full range. I definitely recomemd this lens to anyone looking to step up their photography game. I was hesitant at first but I am thouroughly pleased with this lens.
