    I purchased a CanaKit – Raspberry Pi 4 Starter MAX Kit 4GB RAM from Best Buy This is a kit that includes two CANAKIT Micro HDMI to HDMI cables. During my attempts to install the Raspberry Pi Operating System, I found both of the cables were defective. The only recourse given by Best Buy’s Customer Service was for me to return the entire kit, order another and risk that the replacement would still include faulty cables. I confirmed that the video cables were defective by purchasing two Micro HDMI to HDMI Adapters which, when used in conjunction with my own HDMI to HDMI cables, resulted in the Raspberry Pi video working properly. Be mindful that when you buy this product and find that the video cables do not work, you will still need working video cables. Best Buy will not compensate you.

    Product is still solid, like the predecessors and it is still simple to assembly and use. One thing is the price. This is not anymore the kind of “under $100” computer, now prices for this version exceed the $100 mark.

    Purchased this out of curiosity and to use it to run Linux to retrieve data from hard drives pulled from inoperable laptops and PCs. Constrution and setup was a breeze. I opted to install the Rasperry Pi OS and tinkered with it some. It does what I need it to and is an interesting little tool to have.

    I had difficulty finding a place that had this item in stock. I actually wanted the 8GB model but that was nowhere to be found. The one I was able to purchase from Best Buy arrived quickly and is up and running a Unify Controller in a Docker container on a 64 bit Debian/Bullseye operating system. I have had no issues since deploying this configuration.

    I’ve been studying Cyber Security for a good 3 years since my junior years of highschool and during that time i learned about what a Raspberry Pi is. Of course during this time it was hard to find them until now. Now that i have one, I’ve made it into a firewall and later into a hacking machine. So much you can do with these it feels so cool to finally have one!

Whether you’re using this as a personal computer, a device for automation, a server, or whatever else you may have in mind, this kit is good to protect and set up your pi.

    My order arrive early so I was excited about that. It’s a very nice kit. Does everything I need it for. I got it to run a server for my smart home. Works just as expected and I’m happy with my purchase. The price wasn’t what I wanted to pay for it, but the increase expected since it’s very hard to find. Limited supply.

    I really enjoyed this, until I found out it only has ARM64 like all the others, which, for its design, is appropriate. It’s really my fault for not reading up and making hopeful assumptions. Until more developers adopt ARM based processors for their apps, I’ll be sticking with x64 simply for compatibility reasons. I still have uses with this device, though!

    Set this up with 2 HDD to record four 4K surveillance cameras outside the house. Works great. Video and sound recording is great. It records 24/7 without any issues at all for about a year now.

As for the kit itself, it comes with everything you need except for monitor and keyboard and mouse. well compare that to Mac mini and other mini Computer this is so amazing! not only did I buy one but I also bought one more after the first experience.

    It’s a RPI 4. It’s not a desktop with fast speeds, but is perfectly acceptable as a server, some web surfing, even YouTube on a 4K 60hz display—if you don’t mind some frame drops.

    Fun for a project and brushing up your Linux skills. I plan to use it on the boat as a BLE (Low Energy) message logger from some “smart” systems, a VPN server and router so I can SSH into boat systems remotely.

    I’d hesitate getting one of these, especially after hearing about the new model. I’m glad I got it! I’m an Amateur Radio Operator and use computers to work on c certain frequencies in what we call Digital Modes. The Raspberry Pi works GREAT for that and connects to my Ham Radio with no significant hurdles. It’s also easy to experiment with other operating systems (except Windows – sorry).
