Fast and versatile for home office. I was looking for an all in one to replace an old brother laser that lost its network card in a lightning storm, and an older Brother basic inkjet/scanner. I needed the ability to manual feed business checks, almost impossible to find! This one has it. It’s extremely fast and the ‘one year of ink in the box’ will definitely last that long for us. Very large ink capacity. At first is was less than impressed with its Mac drivers but the more I used it, have become very satisfied. I had the iPrint and Scan app on my iPhone from the old printers, but rarely used it. The desktop app is great – I can direct scans to Acrobat Pro, files etc. and it’s seamless. I use the hardwire ethernet connection to my router, and AirPrint – and scan – work perfectly from our phones. And, only one printer in the office instead of two!

I’ve had this printer for not quite a month and so far it has been performing well. The only downside I have found with this printer is that after a certain amount of time of inactivity it goes into deep sleep mode and if you want to print from a smart device (smart phone) you have to physically press the power button on the printer to wake it up. This defeats the purpose of remote printing.

Very disappointed! Can’t get it setup for Wireless, so using USB. Can’t get it setup to print from my cell phone. Can’t get it to switch back and forth from tray 1 to tray 2. I have had a technician come in and he can’t figure out why I can’t print Wireless from my laptop or cell phone. As soon as I can afford a different printer, I will dump this one.

extremley easy set up. prints very fast. Have enrolled in the refresh ink program which give you another 1 year warranty. Have had multible printers over the years(H.P., cannon epson. this performs better than these)

Have you ever seen any of those funny skits where people pretend to be printers to show how frustrating it is to use one? How they constantly disconnect or lose the file you were trying to print, how about the ones where the printer is out of cyan so it won’t print a black and white document? This brother printer has none of those problems. It has been the best thing connected to my computer and I have not ran out of ink in almost a year now.

I’ve tried really hard to give this printer a chance & I was very excited about it! It sometimes takes itself offline & worst part is, it constantly jams- wasting my ink & paper. I sometimes print one item multiple times to finally get a decent & usable copy. I honestly regret how much I spent on this & I unfortunately did not pay for a service plan- or else this would’ve been long gone!

I needed to replace my printer, and I generally by Brother, so this one caught my eye. It’s reasonably sized for all that it does. I like the fact that it has 2 paper trays so you can work with different papers (photo v plain) and not have to get up to change the tray. Plus the wifi printing works great with a lot of range (throughout the house). This is a good printer which has met all my expectations.

I purchased this printer to replace my old Epson printer. I wanted something with two paper drawers due to the fact that we print a lot of pictures and wanted a printer that can have a drawer strictly for photos. Well this one fits my needs perfectly, I love the fact that I don’t have to switch out the paper and put photo paper in everytime I want to print a photo. The speed of this printer is OUTSTANDING to say the least. And also it comes with a year of ink is great too. The touchscreen is a decent size that fits my big fingers and is easy to use. The wireless setup was flawless and I was up and running in about 25 minutes. The only drawback I see so far is the ink is a little expensive, but if it gets a year out of the tanks it’s well worth it. The speed of this printer is awesome and the quality of the photos and documents are beautiful. I don’t think you will be disappointed with this printer !!!

I would give a zero if I could. It worked for 3 months and then the paper jam started at every print and now after a year it’s both paper jam and blank prints. For every print, I have to remove the paper jam, clean the print nozzle and the print. Highly frustrating, cannot believe Brother makes such low quality printers. Decided to trash this printer and buying HP or Epson. Best Buy should stop selling this printer if they want to protect their image. I had an HP printer before this which worked great for 15yrs, maybe it’s time to stick with the best.

Terrible quality for printing basic BW documents. Ink on printed page appears faded/weak. Compared the same printed page from this device with my father’s much older Brother MFC-J480DW and the quality of the older printer was much better. Can’t seem to convince customer support that’s there’s a problem. They suggested doing a deep clean which required the replacement of each costly ink cartridge. This wasted ink at $65 per cartridge and didn’t solve the problem. The Inkvestment starter ink supply didn’t last the year or 1500 BW pages as touted. Not even close. I think the print head is defective but can’t get customer service to budge. I bought a basic much cheaper HP and the inii print quality is for it much better when comparing the two devices.

This is my first ever negative review on an item that i’ve purchased.. Ever. I will talk about the pro’s 1st
– It looks nice.
– It’s quiet
– Has the features that you want in an all in one.
– Changing ink is easy
Now for the negatives.. And there isn’t a long list of negatives, it’s just there so bad that it’s worth finding a better printer. If I knew now what I didn’t when making this purchase I’d rather pass and copy whatever I’m printing by hand from memory.
– The software stinks – The FIRM ware us buggy.
– The controls on the printer are not easy to use
– Brother support will not help you when you have a problem, You will find yourself going to youtube and google for answers
– The connection to wifi always drops,
– Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.
– You can print from your phone (Sometimes)
– If you leave it on, and it goes idle it will forget your connection details and you’ve have to put in your username and password (not from your router, but from the unit itself ” It has it’s own network id name and password” that you have to find because it’s not printed on the actual machine.
These are known issues that plague this machine specifically.

Our small office have tried several printers with zero results. We recently purchased the Brother INKvestment Tank MFC-J4535DW and have never been happier with the results. Prints in seconds, multiple users, double sided. All we can say is we couldn’t be happier with the results.

So far, mostly so good, but have only had it for about a month. It was easy enough to set up and get it to listen to both my computers and phone. Day 1 it did jam when I printed double side, but other than that it has been fine. We’ll see how it does over the long haul, but until then 4/5.

I love this printer! It was easy to set up, prints lightning fast, and produces quality black and white as well as color pages. It’s much quicker to print from than my HP. Easy to setup, but took a little work to get it to print through my network. I haven’t had it for very long but so far I only had an issue one time when it wasn’t showing up on the network. I rebooted everything and then I saw it again. Don’t know if it was my network or the printer causing the problem.
