  1. liny

I was recommended this from someone and I’m so glad they did. I was using my Epson printer that was also a scanner but it was so slow and always jammed. This thing is so quick papers were flying out of it all over. The downloaded software for the computer works great. Super easy to use. I love that you can add or delete pages before saving it. My only complaint would be the slats that move to adjust the paper size are flimsy and always falling over.

  2. Freddie

Great product works wonderful delivery was on time

  3. Bill2864

Works great. Very quick and creates clear pdf scans.

  4. zimsavage

Brother products have always impressed me and this compact scanner is great, too. I particularly like being able to scan duplex documents to a jump drive with the LCD panel, without connection to a computer. Best Buy delivered just as quickly as monopolistic Amazon, at the same price.

  5. NorthCarolina

Scan multiple photos at a time. Easy to import to computer.

  6. jdub42

Very easy to set up and use to save important information

  7. Aisha

This little scanner works as well as the larger ones. Great resolution!

  8. BWoodbridgeVA

Great compact scanner. I bought this specifically for the ability to scan directly to USB. So far, it works as advertised. I recommend buying the special Brother Carrier Sheets for odd or fragile scanning (such as frayed papers or pictures). The size is perfect. If needed, this can be put in a large computer bag for travel.

  9. Donnakay

This is a great portable scanner. It is very compact and gets the job done fast!

  10. jrsr

I have used this scanner on both Windows and Chromebook. Easy setup. I should note that the Chomebook uses the Android mobile version of the user software, which is significantly less useful than the PC version. Both sets of software are free.
The ability to scan both sides of documents from a document feed is a great timesaver over the single sided All-in-One unt i was using before.
I strongly recommend this to anyone who has both documents and photos to scan. The setup and operation could not be easier.

  11. LawnmowerMan

Use this scanner for my law practice. Quick, easy, high quality, great options. Very happy with this scanner.

  12. Happy

Excellent option for remote working / home office equipment that brings efficiency

  13. Rcaruthers

Great scanner scans duplex in one pass easy to setup.

  14. LynInMN

This little scanner is great for a remote office. It will scan color or black & white; single or double sided pages; and multiple pages. There are workflow options to quickly set up the job. The scan can be saved as a file in different formats or sent directly to a printer.

  15. unhappyreviewer

i bought this after checking reviews and comparing to other products. I bought this one because it would send the scanned copy to my email. However, I cannot get it to do that! It’s useless! Cannot hook up to internet so i got a cable to plug into the machine that also plugs into my laptop, but that doesn’t work either!

I’m so ticked off about it that i haven’t tried again to get it hooked up! it’s very disappointing!

  16. BusinessOwner

Absolutely amazing product! I now own three separate scanners for my businesses! They work extremely well and the staff love to use them given how easy they are! Would recommend to anyone!

  17. TimP

Nothing to say about product. I do not know why this feature is required

  18. ChinoValleyMan

Well it took awhile to figure out how to get the unit to work. Web site info did not do much for wi-fi setup. Went and bought the usb cable and was finally able to download the drivers and software.

After much frustration it is a good scanner. Compact, fast, and for the price it does a good job. Easy to save files where you want them.

If you are like me and not a Tech wizard, be prepared to be frustrated for a short while.

  19. WildcatDad

I won’t bash other brands of scanners or big-name-multi-function machines– but most of those are horrible. Bloated software and underperforming hardware is the standard. Not with this Brother. I did a lot of research and this seemed to be worth a try. Wow! I am so pleased with the versatility, the speed, and the small footprint. This really is an easy to use and speedy single purpose scanner. The software has upgraded a couple of times (one time it was painful) but the current version is perfect. You will not regret owning this.

  20. KelR

Small, compact. Fits in a tight space for a quick and seamless process!

  21. maestrith

Wasn’t blown away by the quality of the images. If you scan a lot of documents that works great but for images it really messes up skin tones.

  22. 1Vol4Life

I loved everything about this scanner, until I tried to use it. It never connected to my wireless network. I could only get it to work with the USB. I ended up taking it back and bought a Brother instead.

  23. TheFoolMonty

Works well. Can be a bit confusing to set up. I’m still happy with it.

  24. Mike

Works great! It’s fast and can send files to a thumb drive, computer or phone or by email and many other ways!

  25. Lonovoguy

Had for 2 years now. So far so good. Upgraded the scanning software.

  26. Ashley

I’ve never personally used this but my assistant loved it!

  27. Ryan

Quality quick scans, but the software could be more straightforward

  28. Jllamb

I’m not sure how I ever lived without this, best thing ever to add to my small business!!!

  29. luke

We bought this to use at work and while it worked originally it wasn’t without small hiccups. It was mainly used to scan receipts and it had a lot of trouble separating them and scanning them properly. The image also wasn’t consistent making it hard to read the receipt information sometimes. Just splurge a little more and grab yourself a ScanSnap

  30. Mickey

This scanner works great! easy to use. Easy storage because of its size.

  31. QueenShonka

Absolutely perfect! It’s light weight and doesn’t take a lot of space. Easy to set up and works very well. Great but and worth every cent!

  32. KBTechGuy

Bought a second one of these for my home office. These scanners run lots of ways, different configurations are possible, but I love using the Brother app on my phone and saving all my scans to a dedicated Scan folder in Google Drive. Love these small but powerful scanners

  33. Jordan

This scanner got great reviews, but I found it very confusing to set up. I ended up returning it.

  34. NiseH

Love this and should have bought a long time ago. Very easy to use.

  35. Guest

Good product and great for what it need it for. 5 stars

  36. iperez

Amazing scanner. Its fast and does double sided scanning very quickly. Not to mention high resolution scans. I in particular love the workflow capability. It made scanning quick and painless.

The only flaw it has is when scanning multiple pages, the feeder may not grab the pages in order. You have to be careful to feed the pages in a stangered manner. But even with that I was able to get it to work just fine. I just wish the feeder was as easy to setup like my copier. But for the price and speed, it was a great compromise. I was able to scan 200 photos in no time.

  37. PaulJ

Fast scans, easy to setup with the included app. Able to wirelessly scan from a PC, laptop and phone. Biggest pro is its compact dimensions and ability to scan automatically double-sided pages. Small foot print so you can place on a small table or desk. If space isn’t a big factor, consider spending slightly more for larger ADF scanners that can scan faster with higher output.

  38. Devin

Great scanner. I would recommend it to anyone looking for quality at a fair price and a small package

  39. Functional

I like it so far. I have had it only for 3 months and have used it a couple of times. So far so good!

  40. Rooster3

Travelling & need a portable scanner in your bag. Maybe.
Home Office: One page documents, usually OK.

Multiple page docs: Will scan first few pages – then stops. Ooops. Something went wrong – Please Start Over.
Scans the first 8 pages then crashes/

After a year and a half of wanting – so badly – to like it.

Other than an old VCR it is the most unreliable piece of equipment in the house.

  41. jdjsjsn

Quick scanning. Hardly any jamming. Good software.

  42. Szora

I wanted a back up portable scanner and a friend told me he loves his brother so I got this one for a back up. I’ve had this scanner for over a year and have used it ONE time! My Epson I can use without being plugged in – this one needs to be plugged in while using.
If your looking for a portable scanner that’s wifi direct I would definitely go with the epson ES-300 over this Brother!

  43. Unknown

I absolutely love my brother scanner ads1700W it does everything it says it does and as well if not better than bigger scanners. I love mine so much I bought another one for a coworker for Christmas

  44. Jesse

My new scanner works superb. It works fast and convenient. The only challenge is downloading the app in pc to connect with the scan. But it worked out well.

  45. KHKHKHKH

Brother advertises that you can scan to cloud accounts such as OneDrive. However, it only supports OneDrive personal accounts, not OneDrive for business. Brother support kept trying to tell me it was a problem with my OneDrive account and that I should contact Microsoft. Nowhere in the product documentation is this limitation noted.

  46. L3jack

Product works as advertised. Very user friendly. great product Perfect for home use and on the go

  47. MzBeAre

This is perfect for my home office. I scan lots of documents daily.

  48. SharonM

Overall easy to work with and lightweight. The only flaw was the additional cable needed to make my connection between the scanner and Mac to get the free Receipts software.

  49. HellenaS

Great for business and work. Portable wireless device can carry anywhere. Very easy to use.

  50. Unknown

Works great and works very well scanning stuff to my server. The only issue I have is that for receipts it can sometimes pull them in sideways, but this doesn’t happen often. I do wish it had a ethernet jack too, but that doesn’t really matter.
