The Oracle Touch is an amazing Espresso machine. While someone with more knowledge could have figured out the grind size for each type of coffee bean -I wasn’t able to figure this part out. The size of the grind is the only thing that you have to figure out on this machine – it does literally everything else for you. But at $2500 – I decided it was too much for me and I went with the Barista touch which is $1500 less. I’m still figuring out the grind size – but it doesn’t seem as hard on this less expensive machine that is amazing too!!!

Coffee taste amazing every time. But wand worked great for 1-2 months. Now we pretty much drink coffee with hot milk.
Very disappointed, it is very disappointing to pay $2,500 and the wand just heats up milk.
Would not recommend! Until they fix the issues!

I’ve owned this machine for three months now, and it’s absolutely perfect in every way. I’ve had a variety of expensive machines in this price range over the past 15+ years – from fully automatics such as Miele, to semi-automatics including Mini Vivaldi and Kitchen Aid, etc. Nothing has turned out the quality of espresso and micro foam (I’m a cappuccino person) as my new Breville Oracle Touch. And here’s the trick: I’ve been using the same Illy Dark Roast espresso beans all this time. The grind quality and pressure of the Breville take the espresso to a whole different level of flavor and richness. I was blown away at the results.
The design of the machine is top notch and incredibly functional. I love the water filler right up front. It’s so easy, and I don’t have to remove a tank. Unlike the Miele, which cleans itself all the time, I don’t have to empty a drip tray or waste container every five minutes.
The steam wand has a built in thermometer and you can set the temp to your preference. No more scalded milk. I can even walk away from it and it will shut off when the frothing is complete – perfect every time. I loved the Miele, but always had to microwave the milk prior to frothing. It never got as hot as I like. So the temp setting on the Breville is a huge plus for me. And the foam is so creamy … delicious!
I really like how the bean bin has an airtight sealed lid, which keeps them fresh between uses.
One note: the machine has an endless array of settings, and I did feel a little lost when it setting it up. There are several YouTube videos out there from actual users who graciously share the settings they use. Take the time to watch, it’s well worth it.

Great expresso machine. Once you dial in the grind settings for the beans you are using you are good to go. Best part is that the steam wand cleans itself. The super automatics send the milk through the machine which in my option could end up causing more issues down the line. Double boiler is great to simultaneously brew and steam. The front of the drip tray scratches easily so be careful when putting items on the tray.

This is a great machine. There is a slight learning curve, but here are a few tips after 2 years of use. 1) Only use beans with a roast date on them and try not to use old beans. Sell by datwa are not fresh beans. Try Mostra Coffee or Little Waves. Avoid super oily beans. 2) Get a scale. Amount of grinded beans to output shouls be measured initially. Use youtube to learn the ratios. 3) I have always set the grind from 19-22 and adjust dependent upon beans and scale reading. 4) Adjust the amount of coffee being grinded; use the tool provided to adjust the amount. Plenty youtube videos on this. Once tou perfect to your liking youll realize how many better beans are out there than sbux and other large chains.

This is the most amazing espresso maker I’ve ever owned with all the features it offers. The machine does require some tweaking with grind, frothing etc, but there are several helpful videos on set up on YouTube. I also have the Breville Touch espresso maker which requires self tamping, but works great also.

If you have no idea how to make espresso this is the machine for you. It really is as easy as selecting your drink and pressing the buttons. It’s rather pricey, but it is a very high-quality machine. Minus 1 star for the cost.

In Home Barista!!! Easy to use, easy to clean. But warning, you need a bean of the quality of this machine, cheap roast will taste good if not very good, but espresso roasts that are fresh will really come through.

I replaced a Krups Barista Super Automatic that finally died with the Oracle Touch. I initially bought a DeLonghi Dinamica Plus, and while it made good coffee, milk-based drinks weren’t hot enough, so back it went. Every super automatic I researched seemed to have that same issue, which is why I researched and ultimately purchased the Oracle Touch. It does involve more work than a super automatic machines, but the advantages of (1) much more control over milk temperatures, and (2) much easier to clean all of the moving parts won me over. I’m still learning and tweaking the various drinks, but it’s been very enjoyable. Keep in mind that the machine is taller than most super autos, so be sure to measure your countertops for clearance. I ended up making my own coffee station to house the beast, because I had no where else it would fit.

I’ve owned this machine for about 2 months. I’m only a novice home barista, but I have more experienced coffee drinkers in the family and so far everyone has loved it. Significantly better experience than using a Keurig and the wasteful pods.
The touch interface is not fantastic, it could really use a more responsive display considering this is a $2,700 device. But other than that, it is designed very well and you get a reasonable amount of control over the grinding, brewing, and frothing.
I would recommend at least reading the recommendations in the manual, but there are also plenty of videos available on YouTube to help you get started
The main change I would make is adding a water inlet (e.g., from an RO filter) so we don’t have to refill the water tank so often. Thankfully, it is very easy to add water through the top fill port.

When this machine works, it makes great coffee drinks.
We purchased this unit from Best Buy last November. Within 6 months the grinder was not working properly and the software was quirky. 3 weeks ago Breville sent us a new machine, we were without it for about 1 mos. The new machine purges the entire water tank when you turn it on. We call Breville and they want us to send it to them to look at. 2-4wks turn around.
Really??? We paid $2,500 for this machine and we have been nothing but dissapointed.

Calling for Geek Squad support will get you a promise they will fix it if you make an appointment, but when you bring it in they’ll tell you Best Buy doesn’t fix it any more than anybody else in town (call around and ask: nobody fixes them). Online chat will lie and tell you Best Buy will fix it and you’ll waste a trip with a heavy machine.
Find a brand somebody can fix. It’s not worth $1000/year, which is about what the machine costs.
In my case the second steam element (for the frothing wand) died. None of the recommended maintenance prevents this, and no troubleshooting guide shows how to solve it, and nobody will repair it even for money.
Call Breville? Prepare to be on hold 2 hours 45 minutes, their recording says. And their passive-aggressive call-back service won’t tell you how to get your machine repaired either, they put you on hold for laughs. They don’t want to stand behind it even with their name on it.
Deeply disappointing waste of your time and money.

Design is really nice and functionality but being that the prices is 3k and having it since October 17th this really bums me out that the grinder stopped working. Cleaned out the heads and vacuumed all the particles and even that didn’t fix the issue. It’s still under warranty but I think I might as well go with a mechanical one instead of a digital.

Very well made and designed. However, I didn’t care for the espresso it produced. I suspect it needs greater temp and grind ranges. At 190 degrees and the coarsest grind, it was still dirty/burnt. My $200 manual Delonghi delivers much richer espresso at ~180 temp, and I suspect that’s the key. Lowering the temp also improved my french-press coffees while camping.

I bought the Oracle Touch new and have had it for 2-3 months. The tamping on my machine is terrible – very wavy and sloppy. I have been having to manually tamp. The customer support mailed me a replacement tamping fan and said that should fix it, but the replacement parts don’t even fit. I called customer support, he said that there must not be a replacement tamping fan that fits my new machine??? And then the rep told me that I have grind finer or the tamp mechanism won’t work well. However, I had the grind set appropriately for a 1:2 extraction in 30 sec. The rep said “well, unfortunately, it doesn’t tamp well, so you just need to grind finer”. Even when I explained that a finer grind would over-extract for my beans, he said “well, if you want a good tamp, that’s what you need to do. You have to adjust the grind setting based on the tamp quality, not the extraction” ???? WHAT WHAT???
So, I’m annoyed and disappointed to say the least. The couldn’t fix my tamping fan, and then just told “too bad. I guess you can’t dial in your machine now.” WHAT?

Ive gone through 6 of these for various reasons. Lucky for me i bought the best buy warranty with it and became a total tech member later on. 5 stars if youre a total tech member and own this machibe because something will go wrong. Not a matter of if, but when. Seriously! Ive had a few blown gaskets, one flatout short ciruited on me, a couple pumps that broke, etc. quality control on Breville is asinine, but they built an aesthetically pleasing machine. So if you buy make sure to buy it with a total tech membership.

This espresso machine is about as expensive as it gets before you would switch to a professional machine. You could make an argument that the non-touch version of the Oracle is a better value, and would certainly deliver the same results. However, this machine hits all the marks. It’s miles beyond the Barista Touch. The grinder/tamper means no more mess. The double boiler cuts the time nearly in half. The water tank is larger and much easier to fill. The steam wand is more sophisticated, but unlike the Barista, this steam wand really seems to prefer a wet cloth to clean the exterior, rather than simply a paper towel. I chalk that up to the wand tip getting hotter and thereby creating a tougher milk film. The extra pressure seems to help keep shots consistent, so I’m adjusting the grind size less frequently. Also, the out-of-the-box settings are nearly perfect (aside from grind size of course) so there’s less fiddling overall.
TLDR – it’s a very high quality machine. You won’t mistake it for a La Marzocco or a machine from a high end manufacturer who specializes in espresso machines. But when it comes to general kitchen appliance manufacturers, this is as good as it gets and met my expectations.

OUR FIRST ONE DIED within the first year. Breville replaced it! We thought…”amazing! What a great company! At least they stand by their product.”
THE REPLACEMENT DIED within the following year. Now, because Breville only warrantees the initial purchase, there is no more warranty…and we are stuck with a machine that sounds like it might catch fire at any moment. Arching on the inside. Raging heat on the exterior. Random fits and starts. Too dangerous for us.
So there goes $2800 (unless we pay them $550 to come to take a look at it…and then pay them even more to fix it).
No thanks. Huge Mistake. Be advised. Not safe. Not dependable. Not worth it to say the VERY LEAST.
I will very happily remove this comment if Breville changes course and resolves the issue. But if this is still up…you’ll know the issue never got resolved.

There are some long-term maintenance issues with this complex Breville. This is our 2nd one after the full one was replaced free of charge. However, the ease of making expresso bar quality coffee drinks has us hooked and this machine. We also took the 2 yr Geek Squad warranty just to be safe. We know we will be drinking great coffee for the next couple of years so this machine is well worth.

Loved it at first but now less then a year old and the LCD screen is just black nothing is visible on the screen. Second i did not like how the water refill has zero protection in the front from debris entering the water makimg it impossible to have clean H2O.

Purchased the machine to replace an 7 yr old Gaggia. Worked great for the first the first 2 years of ownership, using multiple times per day. Regular maintenance and upkeep were performed based on manufacturers guidelines.
Unfortunately, the machines boilers seemed to spring a leak sending steam into the unit and damaging the electronics (causing power shorts). Sent to Breville for repair and they claimed the machine was unrepairable and out of warranty. They did offer to recycle my $2500 espresso machine for me, so there’s that.

While we have Loved this Machine…. Never Descale and purchase Best Buy Total Tech. / insurance. There is much to love…. But our issues began when doing a descale cycle, then machine would not heat past 150 degs. So not able to use machine. Replaced with 2nd Breville, and 8 -months in ran the descale cycle…. Same problem. Thank God for Best Buy service. Made life / return easy. When you drop $2700 in this machine and can’t even descale it. All you have to do is google this issue and it’s all over the web, but Breville refuses to address this issue.

I almost didn’t buy as it seemed there were tons of reviews at year 3 saying they had breakdowns and the warranty wasn’t covered anymore. I bought it though, and I do LOVE it. The auto-tamp works pretty well, and the milk foam does come in nice. The shots pour well. We refuse to get coffee anymore outside the house unless we’re really desperate, so I like to think it has already started to pay for itself. Nevermind the fact we drink like 4x more coffee than we ever did, we nevertheless still love and hope our new machine lasts for at least 7 years.
