Bosch used to be a fairly high-end brand. Their dishwashers have always been considered the best and I’ve had two so far with great success and performance.
I was so hoping this Bosch 800 Series microwave would be an equal but I’ve never seen such sub-par design and build quality.
We had ours professionally installed. By the next day, the unit could be seen as arking/sparking inside while in the cook microwave mode.
Then two days later the microwave came loose from the mounting bolts (one side). It was hanging with a single bolt. The area where the mounting secure bolt goes into the microwave body had snapped inside of the microwave so that only the other-side bolt was holding it up. We’ve placed pillows under it to support it from falling.
It was threatening to fall and damage the cooktop below (and itself). Two days into the purchase, we stopped using it due to safety concerns.
Contacting Bosch and the store where we purchased the Bosch microwave didn’t result in a replacement but an offer to instead send out a repair person.
The unit is loud. The door is poorly constructed with a door handle (plastic and foil) that will quickly melt or peel from any heat received from a cooktop below it.
The plastic door latches are flimsy and shouldn’t last too long. Thus, open and close the door with ease only.
If you must buy this for a reason, purchase the extended warranty from Best Buy as they will back it and assist. Chances seem certain, you’ll need that warranty.

Very noisy in operation.
The bell is very quiet and easy to miss over the noise. Continues to make grinding noise for minutes after cooking is done.
User experience on control panel is awful.
You will need to keep the book handy. They have a laminated Quick Reference card which does not contain any information on all the numbered modes, its only in the book.
Every mode, like Reheat is Re 1, Re 2, Re 3. Each mode is like this with no hints as to what the difference is between Mode 1, 3, 5 etc. Then there is the “More Modes” button which is 1-5, feeling lucky? Take your best guess or look it up in the book.
I took my label maker and made some labels for the front so I could file the book away. Looks less then aesthetic, its a crude hack.
The unit has an alpha/numeric display but they couldn’t be bothered to put a hint on screen.
I really want to reject the unit but that would cost me a few hundred so I am just dissatisfied.
Nothing to do with BestBuy its all on Braun. I will not be buying any more Braun appliances.

Disappointed is an understatement of what I feel right now with our Bosch microwave oven. Lucky enough that when it first broke, it is still under warranty and they arrange for someone to come and fix it. Took a lot of back and forth until finally it was fixed. Fast forward after 3-4 months. The unit died again. Not sure what kind of fix the authorized third-party technician did but it sure is not on the level you would expect from Bosch. I guess it’s time to look for another brand.

We’ve replaced our whirpool otr convection oven with this model and just used it for the convection part once. It seems that the Bosch is not as powerful as the whirlpool. I made fries in it last night and they took quit a bit longer. It also seems to take longer to heat up. I will try it again with coming something else in it to seeif i may have just selected the incorrect temp. If not I may return it. I purchased it specifically for the convection part so if that doesn’t work as well as I need it, it’s no use to me.

It is an attractive unit. Seems to be the quality of all Bosch products that I have purchased. I have never had a microwave convection combo so there are things I need to learn, for instance the convection oven took twice as long to bake a meatloaf as my small Breville, but I didn’t read any directions, so maybe my fault. It’s pretty quiet. My old one made more noise than I realized.

Beautiful machine. Would have loved to give it 5 stars but after 2 years and 7 months it stopped working totally dead. . Had to replace door switch and fuses, repairman left only to realize sensor heat, sensor cook and convection wasn’t working. Kept getting error code 4. Waiting for price on a humidity sensor which they say will fix this problem. Beware of the 800 series over the range microwave

Great Microwave. Except for one feature. The fan that runs while the food is cooking is loud and it continues to run WHILE the notification buzzer goes off to let you know the food is ready. And the fan runs for about 30 secs AFTER the notification buzzer goes off. But the FAN is so-o-o much LOUDER than the NOTIFICATION BUZZER that it is almost impossible to hear the buzzer. Most of the time, you won’t realize that your food is ready until you realize the fan has gone off. That’s a problem. The fan should stop when the buzzer is sounded and the buzzer needs to be louder.

I am really enjoying the microwave and the easy to use convection oven combination. I need to learn more about the convection oven but plan on using it on a regular basis. Probably will be able to get rid of some individual small appliances which is not a bad idea. Love it’s looks too.

It’s our 2nd Bosch of this model type. Great product. Has the professional fit and finish. No cheapo molded plastic stuff, etc. You’ll pay for it,. but if you use this appliance and have to look at it every day in your kitchen, it makes sense to get the high quality.

I had the 500seroes for over 10 years and loved it. It stopped working so I went in to order a new one and the sales person told me they no longer make it and said I needed the &00 because that’s all they make now. I was also told it was the same size. When it arrived I had to have my tile and cabinet modified to make it fit. Finally it was in and ready to use,, but the control panel is horrible!!! Not only does it look cheap but when the kitchen lights are on the reflection is so bad you can’t even see it. I am so disappointed

I purchased this microwave to use the convection oven. I am now on my second replacement as the first one and now this one will not heat to temperature. If I set it at 400 it will only heat to 300. 2 repairmen have stated that there is something wrong and now I’m waiting for the third replacement. I have not yet been able to use the convection oven. I question the quality of this product.

Wow, after having issues with 2 other Microwaves I though I was free and clear with this one. Just in case I purchased a 3yr extended plan. It turns out this thing started smoking just a couple of weeks ago after 2yrs of use. Fortunately for me I am covered by extended warranty. I am a little concerned that having the convection option in a hood model may cause unit to run hot. The control board smoked while being used in Microwave mode.

The Bosch 800 Series microwave is a very nice product. The sensor cook feature does a very good job heating food. The popcorn button listed three different size popcorn bags starting with the 1.5 ounce when you push the popcorn button, put the button again and it changes to the next bigger size bag and push the button again and it is set to pop the 3.5 ounce bags of popcorn.
The sensor button has a setting for backed potatoes and it works very well.
The interior space of this 1.8 Cu Ft micron is surprisingly very good with a 14 inch glass plate that rotates. Our old 1.8 cu ft Bosch microwave only had a 12 inch glass rotating plate so Bosch has made this 1-8 cu ft microwave even better. It also has an LED light in the interior.
The interior is stainless steel making it easy to clean. This unit has a convection oven feature in it but we have not used that feature so I can’t comment on how that works when using it.
This unit has two LED lights on the bottom for lighting the top of your range cooktop however do to the directional lighting LED lights project while they are bright and a nice white light they will leave the front 1/6th of your range top dimmer that the area right under the microwave, not really a big deal but it does show one of the limitations of LED lighting vs halogen bulbs that spread light over a wider pattern.
Overall this is a very nice microwave and we are very pleased with it.

We purchased this microwave/convection oven a little over three years ago. Something in the control panel broke and now it has to be replaced. The parts and labor cost almost as much as a new appliance. I thought Bosc made more reliable appliances. This should have lasted 10 years at a minimum given how much it cost to purchase. Unacceptable! Do NOT purchase.
My mom purchased the range in this same series and had to replace the control panel for the oven $$$$. She uses he oven maybe twice a week. Bosc has some serious reliability issues. Do NOT purchase this line!

This microwave started out being fine to operate (although the door was crooked and the top piece of plastic trim molding arrived broken, both repaired free of charge). 3 years later, the control panel shorted out and two door latches were broken, both repaired at my expense. 1 year later, the same control panel issue occurred, and latches not working, repaired by Bosch minus cost of labor. By then, the LED lights on the panel were shorting out so that I had to guess at what numbers were displayed. Now, 18 months later, for the THIRD TIME, the control panel shorted out and I’m super frustrated. A quality product should last AT LEAST 10 years without constant repairs of THE SAME defect. By now I call this a lemon. And Bosch customer service is impossible to reach by phone to authorize repairs- by now they should be offering me a new appliance!-
My previous microwave (a US brand) lasted 28 years and was only replaced so I could renovate my kitchen. Super frustrated customer-

We thought it was our breaker box , simple fix replace the breaker and it still blows …. Ran an extension cord from the microwave to another outlet , turned it to 30 secs and same issue with microwave lights flashing and going out with 10 secs

So very disappointed in this microwave. Bought in 2018 for a kitchen remodel. In 2022 had to spend over $300 to replace control panel. Now 15 months later, the control panel went out again. Very frustrating that I have spent well over $1,000 and do not have a functioning microwave. I attempted to contact Bosch customer service with both issues with only the recommendation to have someone service it. No thank you – I do t spend another penny on this microwave.
