    Great find. Exactly what I needed. I purchased an HP computer, and I was shocked to discover the USB-C port does not support using an adapter for my second monitor. I decided to try this USB adapter and it worked perfectly! Best Buy essentials are great products at a great price.

    I never write reviews..Im neutral but had no choice to choose a rating. Just wanted to save some time for others in case you are looking for what I was so why not.

    For people looking to just connect their macbook air to a monitor…just read before purchasing. And i am one of the most indecisive person ever. One bad review will make me redecide if i should get whatever product/thing i am getting. So you can trust this review.

    Anyway, I have a Macbook Air 2017 and I needed to connect it to my new HPM27f monitor. Plugged it on my macbook. Didnt work. Neither does it work if you use a USB 3.0 4-port for it.

    I just returned it and got the Insignia Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter from Best Buy as well. Now, that works. Enjoy 🙂

    I didnt recommend it only cuz it didnt work for me. Doesnt mean the product doesnt work.

    I give this product a 2 star rating because I tried to connect my laptop to my pc as a monitor, it didnt work. Now I know that I could’ve done something wrong, but if anyone could help me I would love it. All I need to know is how to set up a windows laptop as a monitor for a hp windows desktop/pc.

    It causes the computer to restart randomly only when using it (not what you want during a video call). I tried adding to my RAM, switching monitors as I use it extend my display when needed, and even took my computer to a tech store. They expert told me to change out my adapter as this only happened when I used the adapter. By the time I did all of this, the adapter was out of the return window: so I found out the hard way to avoid this adapter

    I tried several USB-C HDMI adapters to no avail. Apparently, my computer has a “no video” USB-C (GEN 1) port. Geek squad guy suggested this little adapter. Bought it, plugged it in, connected 2nd monitor and started my computer. VOILA! Two monitors now in working! Can’t believe how easy it was. Picture is clear (only have a 27″ 1080 acer for my second monitor) and flicker free. Would recommend this to anyone that needs a simple plug in solution!

    As far as I know this item probably works to use a computer’s USB connector to adapt it for use as an HDMI connector. Unfortunately, I tried it using my Chromebook and it didn’t work. But I have read that this type of application often doesn’t work on a Chromebook.

    I bought this adapter to add another HDMI monitor through a USB-C port on my laptop since it only has 1 HDMI port. Unfortunately it didn’t work but it’s because my laptop ports don’t support it. I even went to the Geek Squad to make sure I wasn’t doing anything wrong. I’m sure it would work great on a laptop that supports it based on other reviews.

    Does exactly what I needed to do, changes one of my USB ports into an HDMI port allowing me to connect an additional monitor to my computer. It was plug and Play, there were no drivers necessary to install. Windows immediately detected it as a HDMI port and there were no issues with connecting my additional monitor.
