I bought this because one of the USB-C ports on my MacBook Pro is dead. Though it does power my laptop and EHD at the same time, the power is not sufficient for the EHD (WD 1TB) to function properly. It starts clicking and is no longer recognized by the computer halfway through back up.

If you want to charge your phone/tablet while using usb-c earbuds, this adapter will do the trick. Be patient though, it can take between 2 and 10 seconds for your device to start charging and outputting sound.

I have used this dongle exactly two times. The first time, I noticed the audio from my Google Maps was getting cut out at the beginning of the directions. Annoying but whatever, right?
The second time I used it, I actually needed to charge my phone. As soon as it started charging the only audio that ensues is a high pitched tone that doesn’t stop. $40 down the drain.

This was the second adapter that I purchased. It was the exact same adapter as the first one. Both stopped working correctly weeks after they were purchased. If you need a short term solution, this will work. But that’s it.

This is probably a good product, but I was using it to connect to my external hard drive to my Apple Air since I need more usbc connections. I don’t recommend it for that if that’s what you’re trying to do too

Was using for phone headphones & to charge while using phone stand on desk. It had to be slightly slanted. Within 3 months of purchase the connection to Mic stopped working. It works in car when the chord is perfectly strait. Chord should be shorter.
