- Bayonetta is a havoc-wreaking witch, and she’ll shoot, whip, slice, and burn angels as she uncovers the truth about her own past

- Her weapons and moves are all stylishly over-the-top, but she can also dodge attacks to slow down time, and inflict torture attacks on her enemies
- Use wicked weaves to summon infernal demons, and punish angels with deadly devices
- You can even dress Bayonetta up in four Nintendo-themed costumes – Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Link, and Samus Aran

Swede –
Despite being an adult, I had always stuck to Nintendo games. They are great franchises: Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart, and Splatoon. Furthermore, it appealed to me that these games were clean.
However, YouTube star BeatEmUps spoke very positively about Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2. I had to try it.
I was not disappointed. My Switch had become to feel a bit redundant to me. None of the dozen games I own were getting me to spend time with the console the past few weeks. However, Bayonetta feels so different than anything else on the Switch, I am enjoying sitting down for a couple hours and playing.
The combat is mature, but the game has a camera view that is “zoomed out,” for a lack of a better term, so it does not feel quite as intense/intimidating/gory as a first person shooter, at least for me. Furthermore, these are odd creatures from another dimension you fight, not human-like beings. There are profanities in the cutscenes.
Overall, unique game and not as bad as I thought a mature game might be.
Note, I would recommend only buying one of the two games digitally here. The reason being is once you own one of the games digitally, the second (whichever one you don’t own) is then available for a discount through the eShop directly.

Bayonetta is a Sinatra singin’, witch blade wieldin’, pistol shootin’ good time. Definitely M for Mature, but it’s the best port for console yet.

The bayonetta series is a must buy on the switch if you are into the angel/demon/witch theme and like a solid action game with lots of fighting and a good story. This game delivers in every category and while the graphics are not quite at the same level as the second version, they are still good enough. Nice story, great cutscenes, music, action, everything you want in a game is here. This is not your average button mashing game as there is strategy involved and many special moves to learn along the way. Be sure to buy the physical copy of bayonetta 2 as it comes with the original for free. So basically two games for the price of one. A bit high if you already played these games before on another system, but still great for any collection. The bayonetta 1 download is about 8.5 GB so make sure you have space.

I played Bayonetta 2 first & loved it. I then found I also loved #1. It’s full of action. It’s made me more of a hack-n-slash fan (didn’t really care for these games in the past). The enemies are interesting & varied. They also change up the gameplay with vehicles, vertical play, etc. The bosses can be challenging- but in a good way- manageable. The story isn’t much to really care about- but this isn’t a story-driven game. It’s really good at what it is- a great action game! I can see playing it again! I highly recommend!
