This stand is absolutely awful. I was missing 5 of the small cam locks- so the entire thing is just unstable and basically trash out of the box! It took an hour to get to one of the last steps when I realized I needed 5 more cam locks that I didn’t have…. So an hour of time wasted; and an unusable piece of junk.

I thought I was getting a decent product. I was wrong. Even though it looks good. It was a nightmare building. To start the pre-drilled screw holes were bigger than the screws that came with it. Had to use my own screws. Secondly while putting the two sections together. While one side was secured. The other wouldn’t tighten I had to rig something to secure both the top and bottom sections together. Third while following the instructions the way they wrote it. You will form cracks all over the wood. I had to reinforce it so much. I would have been better off building my own from scratch. Best Buy use to carry quality dvd racks in the past. But, their push to phase out DVD’s all together. They have substituted quality all together. Their are some people out there that but DVD’s. Because, the way streaming is. One month a service has your movies and the next they don’t. Call me old school. But, I still like having the ability to watch any movie I buy. When I want too. Best Buy needs to start carry quality items or they are just going to keep driving people to buy from Amazon over them.

This product is, without a doubt, not worth the price or trouble. The screws at the bottom (that should be in place for MAJOR weight support) spin as soon as they’re “tightened,” the middle portion is unstable and hard to secure, and it is overall an incredibly awful piece of furniture. If you’re willing to pull your own hair out to complete the assembly (which includes instructions to flip the unit over and around an unnecessary amount of times and to add the shelves that aren’t actually connected before the entire unit is even completed), then I highly advice mounting it to the wall-the chances of the unit falling are high due to the wobby nature of the shotty craftsmanship.

First thing, replace those 1 inch drywall screws with wood screws. I think the reason everyone’s saying its flimsy is because the wood screws that come with the kit are really drywall screws and they dont have enough bite to strengthen the shelves. After you apply the back cardboard, itll strengthen the shelves more. Definitely attach to the wall!!!

I bought this with realistic expectations given the price. I did not expect this shelf to be particularly solid and/or sturdy. I figured it would be a kind of flimsy, but functional case to hold DVDs and Blu-Rays.
What I did not expect is how poorly this thing was designed. The drilled screw holes were too big for about half the screws (and you can’t really size up with other screws because the particle board is so thin you’ll start to damage it). Half the boards were unlabeled. And standing up it really doesn’t sit solidly on the floor. All in all, skip it and just pay a little extra more for an adjustable bookshelf.

Assembly was infuriating. Very, VERY cheap materials. Item arrived damaged, and wasn’t noticeable until all contents taken out of box. Even at sale price of $40, I don’t feel like I got my moneys worth. I’m worried if I sneeze in the same room as this thing, it’s going to collapse. I would not recommend purchasing this item.

So far so good, clean and functional shelf for all my games. Looked around for months to see if I can find something think and flush. Only Con is Ofcourse the putting together, you get what you pay for which is pressed cheap wood. But slow and steady wins the race just take your time and if someone can help to hold it with tub while lifting it up that’s a plus

The Shelf holds so many DVD and Blu Rays. Id recommed someone helping you set the product up. It is very wobbly and annoying loose before assembling the huge backboard. Its very light and takes up minimal space. I’d recommended for a smaller space to buy it for of needed.

I didn’t want to believe the reviews because I had bought the 72″ version of this shelf and it was pretty darn solid. This thing however is pretty shoddy. 1) I had it shipped to a store in the hopes that would prevent any parts breaking however, the box appears to have just been shipped via UPS Ground to my store and it was in VERY bad shape. Inside, one of the shelves had a slight crack and eventually broke in half during installation. I was able to fashion it together with gaffer’s tape to complete construction but my word, this thing is fragile.
2) Once you build the bottom and top half, putting them together should be easy. I’ve done this FOR YEARS with Atlantic shelves. For whatever reason, this particular one would not go together securely. When I tried to rotate the little bolts to grab the securing rods, they would just spin and spin as if they couldn’t grab hold. I was able to get a few of them secured and moved the shelf into position. I figured that once I put the wall anchors in, this would solve itself.
3) If you have an older house, chances are your walls are slightly… off. Mine have floor trim that makes the shelf sit away from the wall at an odd angle. So this isn’t necessarily a knock against the product but what this caused was an issue using the pre-drilled holes for the wall anchors. Basically, they were too far away from the wall to use the included L-Brackets, which would have caused the shelf to eventually buckle and bend outward where the two halves go together. My solution was to create new pre-drilled holes on the very top of the shelves that was closer to the rear. Once secured to the wall, this thing is SOLID.
So TL;DR, it will be a little unsettling putting this thing together but with a little ingenuity, you should come out the otherwise with a solid product. That said, 3 stars given all the audibles I had to call while putting this thing together.
