I really like this monitor. I had purchased an LG from Apple and returned it disappointed. This was my second try to get a great monitor for my Mac laptop. Image is great, plugged it in and it works, and it charges the Mac with just the one cord.
Just know it has TWO on/off buttons. One in the back and one in the front.

Colors are beautiful, LOVE that you can turn the monitor vertical as well if you have a tight space. The screen is HUGE. Use it as my data entry screen for spreasheets and it makes it so much easier than jumping from my laptop to a small screen. Set up wa a little confusing with my Macbook Pro. Had to watch a few videos because it wasn’t going as planned, but in the end, got it sorted and set.
Wonder –
beautiful monitor! great height. no issues with it
Sunny –
The monitor has been amazing. Great image quality and plenty of USB ports. Great real estate for whatever you are working on.
millenniumfae –
reliable, as advertised. instructions were a bit nebulous to assemble.
mmdr –
A truly great monitor for color accurate workflows
TheUri –
Perfect colors and size. Perfect next to another iMac.

ASUS – ProArt 27″ IPS 4K is a high-quality monitor and I am very happy with my purchase!!!

This is an outstanding monitor with calibrated screens including DICOM which is highly useful to me. I tested the 32 in version of this monitor with PerfectLUM and the factory calibration was right on target on the DICOM curve. Speakers are adequate, better than a similar 27 in 4k monitor I had from LG. Like having 4 inputs as I have multiple sources and 4 usb ports. So why 4 stars?
USB-C connection has some issues. One is that in order to get usb 3.1 you have to run the monitor at 30 Hz over the USB-C connection. This is a limitation of DP 1.2 which this monitor uses. If you want to get 60 Hz and usb 3.1, you need to connect to the monitor with HDMI or DP and then use a USB to USB C connector. So instead of 1 cable, you have 2. HDR looks great on this monitor and functions perfectly.
But that’s not my major gripe. I had an Asus ProArt B550 mother board with Ryzen 5600x connected to this monitor over usb-c. The MB has Thunderbolt 4. Display looks great, but every time the CPU goes to sleep and the screen goes to sleep, if I turn the screen off, then when I turn it back on, the USB-C connection no longer works. To fix it, I have to go into the Factory Menu using the firmware update instructions on Asus web site, then do a factory reset. The regular reset does not work. I believe this issue has something to do with power delivery over usb-c, as if I have my HP laptop connected with usb-c and the HP goes to sleep then i turn the monitor off, when I resum and turn monitor back on again, USB-C is functioning fine.
So now with the proart MB I am just connected with HDMI and no longer trying to use usb-c. Reserving USB-C for my laptop and ipad pro. It’s not a big deal, but it’s a weird flaw so I need to ding Asus for it. I have reached out to their support and asked them to replicate the problem. They have responded but waiting for them to call me.
Btw, my monitor shipped with the V19 firmware already installed so anyone buying this now should not have trouble connecting an M1 laptop to the monitor.
I considered buying a 14 in Asus Zephyrus gaming laptop but then I read some reviews that having usbc power and barrel plug both delivering power fried the laptop. Someone said Asus uses a faulty TI chip for their USBC. I can believe it given the issue I had with the Asus proart motherboard and this monitor.

I got this monitor for my MacBook Pro for coding because of the USB type C connection. Boy does this thing blow others out of the way. Other USB-C enabled monitors are pretty expensive in general and this one also has power delivery. The adjustment on the arm is flexible and I’ve had no problems with compatibility with Mac despite some other reviews.
JayBee –
received monitor that didn’t turn on right out of the box
Enthusi –
Incredibly disappointed that the USB-C connection doesn’t work for displays. It was one of the biggest things that drew me to the product. I have updated the firmware of the monitor but to no avail. Hopefully, they can patch this issue in the future.
RSack –
Excellent all around monitor at this price point for editing and color accuracy. It has a solid stand with great flexibility. To top it off it comes pre calibrated. What more can you ask for.
Tornova –
Learned that I received a used item instead of new. The firmware had to be updated via a Windows PC in order to use the monitor with my Mac. The monitor doesn’t play nice with multiple inputs (even though it’s designed to be used with multiple input sources). I tried giving the monitor a chance and monitored the Asus website for firmware updates, but this seems to be it. This is the monitor that they designed and produced. This has got to be the worst monitor I’ve ever owned and has proven to be detrimental to my workflow when I’m spending work hours trying to get the monitor to work.
djb663 –
Love the monitor. Perfect tool for use with my MacBook pro. Had to upgrade firmware to make it work with Mac chip computer but that was relatively straightforward and once done the monitor is seamless and a pleasure to use.
Ltoda2nd –
Very nice monitor, using if for my daughters art classes and gaming. Could use better manual controls at the bottom of the monitor.
DAVID –
I use for video and pic editing. The color clarity is great.
Deep –
One of the best 4K monitor with USB C power delivery. I have been using this monitor for over 1.5 years and I’m highly satisfied. I use it with my Macbook Air M1 and connect using a single USB C cable that came with the monitor for both power and data. The built-in speakers are basic and could have been better.
ASUSproartdisplay27inch –
works right out of the box. set up was easy, really like the way the stand allows for adjustable viewing.
misterMister –
No complaints. Good color and text clarity. USB-C with charging and data transmission. I’d rather not elaborate any further.
hausofmomo –
Using this monitor as part of my work from home set up in combination with a 2019 MacBook Pro connected by USB-C. I mainly use Figma in my day-to-day and have had a great experience using this monitor as my main screen.
I’ve seen the feedback around a wobbly screen while pushing the buttons. It does wobble, but I’ve only pushed those buttons during the initial set up and haven’t touched them since. The base is a good size so it doesn’t wobble in any other situation.
It’s not a pretty looking monitor like the Apples, LGs, and Samsungs out there but it’s solid. The build quality is sturdy. Working in UX design the picture and resolution is perfect for me. Having the USB-C connection is convenient.
Consider where lighting is in your set up because there is glare that happens. Before, I was working with the window behind me and I had a glare spot which was annoying.
Asus –
Great picture, crisp, sharp, colors vivid. Easy to set up and connect.

The monitor looks great…ON A PC or over HDMI with a Mac Mini, but it is not compatible with my M2 MacBook Air over USB-C. The monitor shipped with V019 firmware and supposedly V021 was a fix, tried it and nope. V022, nope. Pushed the hub update that was also claimed to be a fix by Asus and nope. Even with the latest V22 firmware and latest hub update (which has to be done from Windows), the PA279CV doesn’t work with USB-C on my M2 MacBook Air. Very disappointing. 2 stars since it does work with Windows over DP and HDMI but what monitor doesn’t?

I have used this as my primary work monitor for 3 months now and am very happy. I do architectural modeling and rendering work which required high definition and accurate color and this monitor delivers. It is great for color grading photo and video as well. HDR looks great and never issues with glare. Colors were accurate right out of the box. Looks nice and clean on desk.
Only small gripe is it takes a little longer than desired to wake up from sleep. not a big enough issue for me to deduct a star.
Long –
It’s a little pricey, but very easy to put everything together! The screen is very bright. It’s perfect for daily work and entertaining
AlexanderV –
I love this monitor. I am using it for coding and my eyes feel good. Zero problems. I would probably buy one more for second display.

Great Monitor…love the blue light filter…main reason I bought it
JoyOfDesign –
I replaced and iMac with a laptop and needed a quality monitor, and hoped not to pay $$ for a Mac monitor. This was billed as a good monitor for graphic design professionals. Images in Photoshop do look good, but small, bright text and icons have a glow/halo that is headache inducing. It’s like the colors are out of register. (Those that deal with print design will know what I mean!) This makes working in InDesign and Illustrator difficult.
Muddy –
Great for a MAC computer. Amazing how much better the resolution is than a standard LG or Samsung monitor.
Which the screen was high gloss instead of matte, but it works better than the rest!
MyBbYsAnCa –
The biggest reason to purchase this is if you do photo and video editing and care about highly accurate color representstion, which this large beautiful monitor does very well. Its solidly built and sturdy. However at its price point I wonder if chosing something a couple hundred dollars less may be a better choice.
JohnS –
This is my second Asus monitor. They are easy to set up, everything is included and picture and colors are very good.
Nfvsa1 –
Got this monitor because my old Asus Designo Series Usb c input broke. Was pleased by the picture quality and brightness but my only use for this was with my Mac Mini. However as you’ll notice in other reviews the usb c port fails to display mac devices. Even with their firmware update for the Monitor the issue still persisted.
GimmeEasyTech –
Fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Real happy
DaveP –
Nice screen! Closest I’ve seen to a MAC monitor for a reasonable price. Color accurate and sharp.
Scott –
USB-C port is dead after 2 years. Was good up until this point, but I don’t think the electronics could handle the load of a dual purpose USB-c that connects the monitor and charges a laptop.

I was looking for a monitor to edit raw images in Lightroom and Photoshop. The ASUS ProArt 27″ is a powerful monitor with a very simple (like from the 90’s) interface. I need it something that synced without lag and kept colors true when connected to my MacBook Pro without breaking the bank. So far, it has been working great. It is not a Pro Display XDR, but it does the job. I also love that I can use a USB-C cable and charge my computer while connected.

Love it! The monitor is clear, large and a must have for content and video creators. My sole purpose was color accuracy and this monitor does the job! Don’t hesitate. Buy it!
Tony –
Amazing monitor, the size and colors are perfect for my photo and video editing need

Seems to be well built, and works great. Very pleased

This is by far best budget color accurate monitor on the market you can buy.

I use this monitor for photo editing and the colors are spot on. The colors are true to life and have improved the look of my photos. Definitely recommend this monitor for anyone in the art industry!

Very good color quality, almost as same as my MacBook screen.
DerrickB –
love the colors! fast great connectivity to my mac devices
DanielP –
Bought this monitor as a replacement for a old unit that finally kicked the bucket and sheeew, what an upgrade! Great colors and sharpness, makes my photos edits that much better with the additional clarity and accuracey.
RenzoV –
It has a lot of potential, although I still need to use more applications to be able to see how much 4k resolution it has.
RyanD –
Perfect crisp color and worked immediately right out of the box with my multi monitor setup. Great Purchase!
PunkyIV –
This monitor is perfect for me! I use this with a MacBook Pro M1 for photo and video editing and I love that this charges and sends video with one cable. I keep a keyboard and mouse plugged into the monitor all the time so I just have to plug in the laptop and I’ve got an awesome work setup. The color accuracy is also great for the work I do.
Rarelycook –
I would give this product 5 stars because of how accurate the color is. I am using a Dell dock switching back and forth with a windows laptop, an Intel Mini PC and an Apple Mini. The monitor is slow to sense changes in input sources. That is about the one thing that give me the most problem. Refresh rate is acceptable though I wish it can perform faster. The thickness of the monitor is alright but the air vent on the back is not pretty. I think QHD is the best resolution for a 27 in. This being a UHD sometime apps just don’t scale as well as a QHD. Price wise it is very good pirchase and it is an IPS panel. A similar model from BenQ will cost quite a bit more. This ASUS is a keeper.

Got it for my daughter she loves it!!…uses it all the time
