  1. Retrocade

Terrific cabinet. Love the shape. Dont make a mistake and miss out on this one!

  2. 93Vet

I love it so far. 12 games in all. All ATARI games and the custom riser really does come in handy. I am 6 ft. 2 in. without shoes.
The buttons really work well, the volume control is excellent, and you do get to go in and change the settings for each game, that is a MUST for anyone, or you can select the standard for each game.
The only thing I have for quality in the long run is the trackball.
The spinner is okay for now, but that may have to be modded at some point for an upgrade. I am hoping that will be the case.
The black plastic piece just will not hold up over time if you use it on TEMPEST quite a lot. I have seen modifications made to other units with a similar spinner and that was chrome metal and far more sturdy.

    Overall grade, A-.
I would recommend to anyone that loves ATARI games from the 1979 to 1983 range.

  3. Chefkevie

THE BEST Arcade Cab I have bought!i Love it, plays Just like THE originals Easy TO put Together

  4. WendyG

Fantastic collection of the classics! Trackball for Centipede/Millipede/Missile Command/Crystal Castles works great! Spinner for Tempest also works flawlessly!

  5. SpankinElroy

Delivered early, perfect condition. A great combination of classics, a must have for Atari enthusiasts. The control panel layout isn’t an exact match for some of the games, but pretty close and the games are exactly as I remember them from my arcade days in the 70s and 80s

  6. Jzjdjdjsjdjd

This is an awesome gaming arcade and I can’t wait to collect them all!

  7. Xbox

I absolutely love this game I used to play it at the arcade all the time. I highly recommend this game you will love it your kids will love it

  8. Chooch3

Just as much fun as I had when I had to go to an arcade to play the loaded games!

  9. boymom

We bought this for a Christmas gift for my son. It took two of us about two hours to put it together. As it turns out, that would be longer than the trackball lasted. None of the games that require the trackball can be played now, after literally less than two hours of use! After reading multiple reviews, it seems this is common flaw. Very disappointed.

  10. Kaye

Love it! Took me right back to the 1990’s. Happy to enjoy this game with the younger kids.

  11. ACB18

Not Best Buy’s fault, but Arcade 1up shipped a defective unit and doesn’t have part to fix it. They ask you not to return the unit but to contact them if there are issues, so I did that. Both the power cord and control deck were defective but when I originally sent them a request for help they sent a cord and chip replacement, not a control deck. Turns out the control deck isn’t something they have currently, so they just expect me to wait until they get one, if they ever do. It’s been over a month with an arcade cabinet sitting in my basement that is paid for but doesn’t work. So far no offer for a discount on future purchase or anything that would make up for the issue. Meanwhile they are selling the cabinet across the country with control decks. Compete failure in customer service and this review is as much to make Best Buy aware as the consumer.

  12. Great

Excellent Game. One of 1up’s best. Great looking Cabinet.

  13. Andruwnixon

    Love it
Fits right end with the others I have. Hopefully it stands the test of time.

  14. Alanw

This game brings back all the feels of growing up as a kid….. Highly recommended

  15. DJeffy

The Arcade1Up units are pretty cool. They give you an opportunity to relive experiences from old video games in a convenient package with a good opening interface. Much easier than trying to play games on a computer with an emulator and a modern controller. One thing I did notice on this particular game, however, is that the buttons are located on the right side, meaning you have to work the track ball or spinner with your left hand, which feels backward to me. Being right-handed, I would have preferred an opposite layout so that I could use my primary hand (right hand) for motion control in the games and my secondary hand (left hand) for hitting buttons. Maybe my memory is wrong, but I seem to remember the buttons being on the opposite side for many of these games. Overall, though, good selection of games and fun to play. (As an aside, if you are taller, the static display that is part of the unit itself can actually impede your view of the top of the unit. I often find myself having to squat down or bend over a little bit to be able to see the entire screen, which is annoying. The screen is also smaller than I remember from the original arcade games, but then again, these units are not marketed as full-sized.)

  16. happycustomer

what a great video system, easy to put togther and hours of fun. strongly recommended

  17. MadHavoc

Overall a decent cabinet. Took me a little over an hour to assemble without the riser. Assembly was reasonably straightforward. Only real tricky part is
    A couple of questionable choices:

-Major Havoc uses the trackball rather than the spinner for left/right movements (spinner would’ve made more sense)

-Missile Command has the 3 bases’ fire buttons to the right of the trackball, which is great for left handed people but awkward for right handed players. I believe they do use buttons on the right, but they borrow the 2 player button which makes that arrangement just weird.

-Menus make frequent reference to an ‘A’ button but they meant fire.

-Menu selector box is hard to see. Had a second person look and they found the current game selector box hard to see.

-No way to do two player co-op on Space Duel

-A couple of the screws were a little tricky due to their proximity to the CPU box

  18. GSL006

Not only does this arcade1up look great, but it’s a ton of fun to play!

  19. NaNa

We bought it for the grandkids and the adults play with it more awesome games we made a great choice

  20. Satisfied

  21. Nugget

great deal priced matched no problem thanks………

  22. CaymanDiver

Overall this is a pretty good purchase. Pros – it has a trackball and spinner and I love playing Tempest, Crystal Castles, Centipede, and Missile Command; attractive graphics on cabinet that reflect the original; lighted marque; quick boot to menu; easy volume control access on the control panel; included riser (being 6’2″ it’s comfortable playing this while standing); the spinner works smoothly. Cons – the trackball will end up getting replaced (it’s just not very smooth but is still usable), Missile Command is a bit difficult to play not having the three buttons on the left side of the trackball like the original (I will look for a replacement control panel), and typical with any game that includes multiple games there are some that will get played once just to check them out. I had to watch a video on Akka Arrh since it was never released and I had no idea how to play it. Overall I’d say it was a good purchase and it will be enjoyed as part of the game room options.

  23. Roberstine

I love playing all of these atari games. The cabinet is fairly easy to put together.

  24. PaulP

Lots of fun and nice selection of games. My only hesitation for that 5 star is the track ball, it’s not really great! I’m sure we will get used to it but it feels kinda cheap / loose. Hope it lasts!

  25. Jillian

Excellent ! Absolutely love it! Set up is quite easy ! Can’t stop playing ! I have it next to my Pac-Man!

  26. oldschoolarcade

Slightly smaller than the original game, but the game play is exactly as the original!!!

  27. Chris

great old school games from childhood, trackball isnt the best but its an easy upgrade

  28. Swillyumz

We bought to play with our grandkids. Love the old school Atari games❤

  29. Basil

The title game “Tempest” requires a vertical screen arrangement, however this machine features a horizontal screen which forces tempest to play in a compressed form, not utilizing the entire screen real estate provided in the hardware. This is very disappointing. Also, I’ve purchased several of these Arcade1up 3/4 size machines. This one was delivered with many flaws out of the box. The artwork was damaged on both the control panel and the sides and the track ball is somewhat gritty and lacking in precision. If I wasn’t outside the return period, I’d take this right back to the store.

  30. Entrepreneur

COOL. Great Old School Perfection. Just like at the Arcade…

  31. John

Fun and easy to set up. Wife loves the centipedes game.

  32. Vantheman

Awesome product and great price …fun to put together

  33. Unknown

Attractive cabinet. Nice selection of games. No internet functionality. Poor button placement for Missile Command.

  34. Gamecave

My hubby and o are big kids now. We have an empty nest and we’ve been enjoying every minute. This was the icing on the cake

  35. Fordman9870

Directions were straightforward and very easy. I took my time and finished in about 45 minutes. The quality of the MDF and vinyl wraps were very nice. The unit felt solid and not wobbly. All of the cuts and drilled holes were spot on. If I buy another I would use wood glue on the wooden pegs. The gameplay is just like I remembered, lots of fun. The only downside (not a deal breaker) is the sound from the speakers. Loud but not quality loud. I plan to upgrade soon with some nice PC speakers and mount them internally. I would definitely buy another game from Arcade 1up!!

  36. lghtanddrk

Great lineup of games and love the cabinet design. Wish this had the molded coin door that’s on more recent models. This would have been better served as a vertical screen cabinet as the majority of the games on this were vertical. The trackball is good but the spinner, while serviceable, feels a little cheap and is not that fluid in movement. This uses the better monitor unlike the new Centipede version that has a few extra games.

  37. Unknown

Good system. Track ball had bearing issues that prevented it from working. I cleaned and lubed the bearings and have not had any other issues. Game play is great. Brings back memory’s of the old arcade days.

  38. Whynot

The game itself is excellent – 5 stars! But worked for about a month beyond their 90 day warranty period and now controls do not work except power and trackball. Apparently a VERY COMMON problem, read about it on reddit – defective chip. Waiting for Arcade1Up to support but not looking good… others have had horrible experiences including no reply, but that was a year ago. We’ll see if they have upped their game 🙂

  39. JeffB

    I love the Arcade1Up products!

Fun & exciting to build out of the box. Beautiful illumination and marquee.

  40. srlake314

He loved it first thing Christmas morning. It took the better half of the afternoon. Broughr back memories of the old arcades.

  41. LenaH

I go doesn’t love centipede! We love this game and kids do too! Lol

  42. NPC5120

Tempest is awesome. I have it and play it too this day.

  43. TheAnt

The retail is too much for the quality of the material. The buttons suck! The coin door decal is an eyesore. The marquee is a little washer out. The graphics on the sides scratch up easily. And the encoder board goes out every couple months. So you have to contact arcade1up support in order to get a replacement deck. This was an inconvenience, but now you have to pay if the cabinet is out of warranty despite arcade1up knowing this is a common issue. I wound not recommend this at the full price. I paid $300 and I’m disappointed with my purchase.

  44. KickstandsAndKeyboards

Beautiful Cabinet! The games are perfect. I play this one more than my Ms. Pacman Cabinet!

  45. MichaelD

My favorite game cabinet. Has Asteroids, Missle Command, Centipede and Tempest. I grew up playing these games and this cabinet brings back memories. Controls work great and reliable cabinet. Well worth the price.

  46. RobinA

You can’t appreciate Legacy Arcade unless you were born in the good old days when going to the Arcade was the thing to do for young teens and young adults. Takes me back (70’s-80’s) every time I look at it. WOW miss.

  47. JamesA

This – this is a fun machine. I have played every game on here, some many times. I discovered some new favorites, and rediscovered old favorites. I love this machine. This is now the jewel of my modest collection.
