    These things are mandatory for the newer laptops that only have USB 3 jacks. I got two because I have a lot of legacy gear and cables that predated USB 3.

    Works fine. Lasts a long time. Won’t rust. Won’t bust. It’s a product you can trust.

    Probably works great but my Mac is USB-C Ragnarok. I’m sure a lot of people are making this same mistake based on the large number of open box items on the shelf. I should have paid closer attention but best buy’s shelf had multiple products in one row.

    Apple no longer makes these dongles so the next best thing is getting one of these. It does take up a USB-C Port but when you need it, its worth it.

    I cannot really rate this product because it was not compatible with my Mac. The photo is somewhat misleading. This is an older style “Thunderbolt”! … NOT the newer “USB C” style Thunderbolt.

    I wanted to connect my MacBook Pro gigabit networks at home and on the road. This dongle fits the bill. I just got back from a trip and needed a fast connection at a hotel. Once connected, I was able to transfer a large number of hi res photos in a flash.

    Suited its purpose of having to connect a Macbook Air to a network through another product produced by Apple instead of allowing the use of a standard ethernet connection through usb like every other manufacturer. If not needed to help with issues for a school district device, I would have probably never been in the Apple part of the store.

    The connection this cables provides is not strong and if the cable is hit slightly, the connection is dropped.

    Completely useless – the “Thunderbolt” side is a non-standard shape and not the USB-C compatible shape that I ordered this for, so it’s a waste of money. I feel duped that the shape wasn’t clearly noted in the product description

    Adapter allows for ethernet to be used with the thunderbolt port. Wired is always better when it comes to internet speeds. Sleek design and easy to use. Plug and play.
