    The Apple Extreme Base Station is the best Wifi Router on the market. However, it is a shame that when they are gone, they are gone. The refurbished one I purchased is working very well. My only complaint was that the Geek Squad didn’t rest it before shipping it to me, and it took me the better part of an afternoon to figure it out. Otherwise, I am very happy to have purchased it, and adding it to my system.

    I have always been a devoted apple product user and when my first generation apple Time Capsule started to go on me I started looking into a new option.

    I have been using this base station for some time now and love it. Since it was a refurbished model the Geek Squad failed to remove the last users settings on it so I had a bit of stumbling effort getting it removed and set up new for me. But once I got passed that it was super easy to set up and connect all of my devices. I even connected an ethernet hub to it to extend its reach out to some of my wired devices.

    The Wifi signal is very strong but I expected it to have more distance and since it is set up in the rear of my home, when I am near the front of or out in the front yard of my house the signal starts to weaken and fade out. It has yet to drop any of my connect wifi devices, nor have I had to restart it like I used to have to do regularly near the end of my old Time Capsules life.

    If I had the extra money I probably would have went with the next level up that has a built in hard drive for time machine backups. But I was able to connect a usb external hard drive and use that external hard drive to back up all my apple computers to it via time machine. Which in my opinion is kind of a better option anyway since one of the main reasons I had to get a new wireless base station was because the hard drive was failing in my old Time Capsule. And by using an external hard drive instead of an internal hard drive, it makes replacing it less expensive than replacing the entire wireless base station.

    This is a great device and essential to our family’s digital life as well as to our business needs.

    This is second router added to my home router system to increase coverage in home. Not getting into details of the system. But one great thing with the system bridges the coverage for numerous Apple devices have improved. Try it

    Apple Airport Extreme is the end all of WiFi routers. Easiest setup for anyone with an iOS or MacOS device. This things is meant to last for many, many, many years to come. If you have a internet package capable of speeds greater than 100mbps and less than 1,000mbps this things will last till the end of time. You can add unlimited Apple Airports to this one hub and “mesh” your whole house together. Much cheaper alternative than the new Mesh routers.

    It’s been a while since new hardware was released (now since discontinued by Apple), but they’re still getting firmware updates.
    The AirPort Extreme is still a fast base station, that’s easy to set up from an iPhone/iPad or Mac.

    The Apple Airport Extreme was easiest set for a router I have seen.
    Minimal steps and you are ready to go. In fact, this router walls you through the steps and you are on. Have been using this for 2 years without a glitch.
