After 5 months I can give an honest assessment of this power unit. I’m not happy at all. At least once a month it goes into what is called ‘Brain Dead’ which can only be remedied by removing the battery from the unit, no other way around it. It also gives a replace battery warning very often until it is rebooted. It’s five months old with only one computer running off it, so if the battery is going bad this quick and for this price, it’s worthless. I’m going to tell others to avoid this power supply and go with the ‘other’ brand.

Great product overall. Has no problem supporting and protecting my computer set up. I run everything through it, including my home wifi. It is quiet, good spacing for outlets, and includes USB outlets on the front so you do not have to use a charging brick. Setup was quick. Slim design allows me to tuck it behind my desk and out of the way.

I may have received a defective one. Many error codes, it would chirp loudly every time I ran the microwave, it is uncomfortablely heavy, the screen went black on day 10 and only acted as a passthrough. Returned it for a refund.

Had this thing since Jan ’22. Just had a power outage yesterday. While the system ran on backup power (just powering my internet router and mesh device) the unit produced some really bad smells during the ~2 hours it ran (like a burning/metallic/acid smell) that filled up my closed office room. I can’t imagine that is normal since I’ve owned many other UPS and never experienced similar smells during operations. I wouldn’t recommend this device, seems like a potential health/fire hazard. I’m replacing it with another brand.

Great UPS. APC did a good job designing this unit with the angled screen and large battery door that makes servicing these units a breeze. Swapping batteries in this unit takes a lot less time than some of their older models with battery doors on the bottom of the unit, or behind a metal plate that is awkward to remove to get to the batteries.
The auto-off function on the LCD screen is nice, and should hopefully make the screen last many years.

Great UPS for my workstation / gaming computer. Currently I have my 2 monitors, router, computer, and a few miscellaneous electronics hooked up to this UPS to protect all of my equipment from any power fluctuations and power outages. It works great and immediately switches to battery power any time it detects that the power provided from the main outlet is not enough or if there is a surge. In my area, this happens a lot more than usual and actually caused my previous computer to have a power supply failure. To add to the protection features as well, this unit can hook up to your PC with a data cable and gracefully power it down for you in the event of a long power outage using APC’s Powerchute application (which can be downloaded directly from the APC website). Battery power lasts for up to 40 minutes after a power outage with everything powered on under standard load, which gives plenty of time to make sure all important work is saved. I expect many years of valuable power protection for my equipment from this quality piece of equipment.

Got 4 of these units to protect each of our computer and entertainment center devices. Power went out a couple times and they have kept everything on which is exactly what I needed. PS5 in rest mode was uninterrupted and the computer was still powered up. Also have the router connected so the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out either so we are all set!

Been using APC for close to 30 years. Nice for my purposes. I see some people have a killer setup and think you can just keep going but really only expect a few minutes. Best to use parachute and set for a 5 minute shut down. I use another one to keep my cable modem and home phone running in an outage and that runs for about 3.5 hours so far proven.

Every few days emits loud beep shows “f02” error. That company support forum for APC is full of people with this issue. APC’s support chat has no one there (waits forever), and their support forum also does not seem to allow posting. I’m sure all units don’t have this issue, but seems to be common enough to be a big problem.

Bought this to protect my network and home theater equipment from a power spike/power outage which happens from time to time here in Florida. So far, so good. What I really like about it is the cable in and out capability which protects my network modem from a cable line spike. Set up was pretty easy.

If you live in an area with Brown-outs or Black-outs, or trees near powerlines, this is perfect. Completing your 300th playthrough of Skyrim, and you have neglected to save in 2 hours? The power goes out, the the LEDs on your ceiling go from their signature Purple to black. Your mom screams at you dad, “THE POWER IS OUT AGAIN!” Meanwhile, you are still playimg Skyrim, and remember you haven’t saved. You save the game, you power off your PC, and you see you still have 17 minutes of charge left. You smile, knowing you saved yourself from replaying hours of work. All of this was possible due to your battery backup that your mom said was “A waste of money.”
