- What is sous vide?
Sous vide (pronounced sue-veed) is a cooking technique that utilizes highly precise temperature control in a circulating bath of water to deliver consistent, edge-to-edge perfect results, with virtually no risk of overcooking your food. - 3 steps to the perfect meal
1. Attach your precision cooker to a pot of water and set the time and temperature 2. Put your food in a sealable bag and place it in the water bath when it has reached the desired temperature 3. Finish by searing, grilling, or broiling as desired. - Precision temperature control
The difference between a rare and medium-rare steak is just 3°F (or 1.7°C) – leaving almost no margin for error. Our obsession with precision drove us to design sous vide cookers that will always keep your food within 0.2°F (or 0.1°C) of your target temp. - Compact size
The 12.8-inch (32.5cm) Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 stows away in a kitchen drawer, so your counters stay uncluttered and your new favorite cooking tool stays within reach. - Power rating
With 850 Watts of power and a flow rate of 8 Liters/min, the Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 has plenty of power to get you cooking perfect sous vide meals — big or small.

Since the first time I have ever heard about one of these sous vide cookers, I was always intrigued. Then my Step-Dad got one and cooked some awesome dishes and I was hooked. Now I finally have one and I am soooooo thrilled. I have cooked a few different things since I have gotten it and wow, just wow. I love how easy it is to use and how simple the design is. I was able to use it with my pot with no issues whatsoever. The app is extremely convenient and makes cooking with this thing almost effortless. I love, absolutely love, the ability to search and use all the different recipes on the app as well as ad my own. It’s very nice to be able to select a recipe and then the cooker itself is all set and warming up. It’s super easy and that is a big plus for me. The foods I have cooked include salmon, New York strip steak, chicken breast and eggs. The salmon came out so juicy and tender. I used a simple recipe from the app. The steak was perfect and so was the chicken. The eggs I tried a couple different ways which include poached and hard boiled. Both came out excellent. I seriously love this thing and have been using it pretty much everyday. I’m definitely going to be buying the container and rack made for this cooker soon so that I can make tons more recipes.

I have always been curious of sous vide cooking as I watch a lot of food related content. Initially it looked complicated and I felt like it was an advanced cooking technique.
Now that I have the Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 I find that it is super easy and almost a get it and forget type of thing.
I already love to grill and smoke meats and now I can cook the perfect steak sous vide style and just sear it off to get that perfect crust and pink medium rare inside every time.
It doesn’t take much equipment to get started. You just need a container large enough for what you are cooking, a sealable bag and your Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0.
It’s super easy to operate and there is an app. You can choose recipes and settings with ease. The Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 is also compact and easy to store. Most of the time I try to avoid these kitchen gadgets that take up space or are hard to store but not this. I can just throw it in a drawer and forget it.
Besides steaks I have also tried cooking eggs as I love to eat boiled eggs for my workouts. Now I can cook a bunch a head of time the way I like without them all having to be super hard boiled with ease. Overall I’d recommend this product if you want to get into sous vide.

Being my first time using a Sous Vide device, I was pretty happy about how easy it was to get setup and straight into cooking my first meal quickly.
Unboxing took a couple of minutes to remove the wrap on the device and get it attached to the stock pot I am currently using.
I then downloaded the accompanying app onto my phone, connected the Nano 3 device to it and downloaded and updated the firmware to the device and was ready to go.
I bought some bpa free freezer bags from the store and ordered some bpa free vacuum bags so I could try cooking from frozen to plate with the unit the next night.
I started with a nice fresh new york strip steak the first night, simply put it in the freezer bag, dropped it into the water slowly to help push all the air out and sealed it shut.
I didn’t use the app for the steak instead I operated it with buttons on the device, setting up the temp and time and away it went. After the water got up to temp the device started the timer countdown,
not long after it was done and I was able to flash sear the steak on both sides in my cast iron pan and supper was served.
The steak was amazing, when I was told it would make perfect steaks I was a little hesitant, but it really does cook a steak very well!
The second night I was able to try out a frozen marinated boneless chicken breast I had frozen the night before, I was really interested to see how well a from frozen to plate would taste.
After about 2 1/2 hours in the water the chicken was ready to be taken out and seared and served, creating yet another delicious meal perfectly cooked, this thing really is a great device!
pros:
Perfectly cooked proteins.
Easy to setup.
Easy to use.
Quick cleanup of the unit, with a small footprint for storage.
The App:
The app is actually pretty great, you can control the temp, times, start of the device.
You can also choose from predesigned recipes that will auto program the device for whatever recipe you pick, which is pretty cool.
cons:
I haven’t found any yet, the device is honestly really easy to use, and does exactly as it was purposed for.
It seems to be really well made.
If I had to imagine one thing that might be a problem with it in the future, it might be that I don’t see an easy way to clean the inside of it.
We have pretty bad hardwater in my neighborhood (alot of mineral deposits), I could foresee the unit collecting calcium etc on the coils.
I am going to guess that I can use a little vinegar water in the stock pot for a cleaning routine every so often to help remedy this possible eventual buildup.
Other than that, this device is great, and I can’t wait to use it a lot more as time goes on.
I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a high tech and well made soux vide device.

If you enjoy eating moist, delicious food that is cooked to perfection every time, you need to check out the Anova Precision Cooker Nano! Let me just get this out of the way. With this device, it is IMPOSSIBLE to over cook your food! Just take whatever your cooking, season it, place it in a bag (vacuum sealed or zip locked) and put it in the water. The Anova Precision Cooker takes care of the rest. The cooking technique known as sous vide uses water, placed and kept at a specific temperature, to cook your food. This device, with the built in clamp, hooks to most any pot and simultaneously heats and circulates the water around the bagged food item. The temperature is so exact that you cannot overcook your food! The device is super simple to set up. Just plug it in, download the app from Anova on your smartphone, and cook! You can certainly use the cooker without the app, but in using the app you can monitor your food from anywhere! The precision cooker connects to wifi and allows you to use the app to keep watch over your food’s cooking progress. The cooker has a touch screen on top that allows you to adjust the temperature and cooking time manually, or you can just use the phone app. I have cooked everything from pork chops, chicken breasts, and even pork loins with the precision cooker. Everything turns out perfect each time! You cannot go wrong using the Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0!

I used to dream about cooking my own perfect brisket. I saw friends cook their own, and it’s either they cook half a day of it in their large ovens or some have this complicated contraption that manages the meat status. I love going to their parties because of that brisket, and long for the days that there’s another reason to gather.
Now, I can make one on my own with that perfect juiciness in the middle. The learning curve is surprisingly not steep. I ziplock my meat with salt and pepper, I put this precision cooker in the pot of water and wait half a day. By the time my WFH meetings are done, the main course is ready. The brisket is perfect from the inside, and I just run it on the pan for some quick searing.
The app makes it simple too. It’s like having a baby monitor for meat– I know when the temperature is good and I can adjust the timers there too. Plus, I actually learned more recipes from the app. I didn’t know I can slow cook corn!!
This is such a game changer. I used to grill my meats and fish and have to constantly be on them to make sure they do not dry up. This precision cooker takes away the baby sitting of cooking. Life doesn’t have to stop when I want my food cooked well. I totally recommend this to all you busy people.

I have one of the original anova sous vide machine and although I don’t use it a ton, I really enjoy it when I do. The few recipes I’ve tried has in general turned out real good. Much easier to prepare than most other kitchen appliances and it creates wonderfully easy dishes. So when I got the new Precision Cooker Nano 3.0, I had pretty high expectations. The short of it, it hit that and more. First off, the unit is smaller. I attached a photo of the older anova next to the new Precision 3.0. It literally half the size. At first, I was worried that half the size meant half the power. Well that was far from the case. The 3.0 actually heated the water much quicker than the older unit. And the most important thing, the thing I was happiest about? It was super quiet. I didn’t realize how loud the older sous vide machine was until I got the 3.0. I would buy it just for that alone. But heating the water as quick as it did. Winner!. Now when I say fast, I mean faster, not that it was super quick to begin with. My 12 quart pot took over 45 minutes to heat up to 170 degrees. I think part of the issue is that I used a pot so I could have anything covering the water. If you get one of those containers with a cover for the sous vide, I think it would heat up much quicker. This might be my next purchase.
Another big deal for me was that since the 3.0 was half the size, it fit into a lot more different containers. The older unit was too big, so I was very limited into what container I could use. One of my favorite things to make is eggs with a perfect runny center, but with my old machine, I had to get a huge pot and it forced me to make a lot of eggs. No more with the 3.0. The bluetooth worked flawlessly, can’t say the same about the older machine. Anova makes a great app that will help anyone with recipes btw. I use this a lot and also, of course, youtube. The main thing I wanted a sous vide for, was for steaks. I watched all the videos and it got me excited. When I tried so many ways with steaks, nothing really impressed me. I was disappointed, but I found other uses for it that really surprised me. Definitely a great kitchen tool that everyone should have, and it doesn’t even take that much space.

The Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 has been my gateway to the cooking world of sous vide, and I am really enjoying my time here. Wi-Fi built-in means I can keep an eye on temps and timers all while stopping or starting the cooking process from anywhere in my house. So far, I have made a few dishes, and they have all come out perfectly. The Nano 3.0 is easy to use, easy to setup, and very easy to recommend.
Setup: The Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 looks to me like a glorified hair curling iron. There’s not a lot in the box, but you will need to download the Anova app and download a firmware update if you wish to use the Nano 3.0 with your phone. The screen controls also work, but I must admit that I enjoyed using my phone. The app makes it easy to find a recipe and then start that recipe with the Nano 3.0. That means the app sends the temps and timers to the cooker.
Experience: I used a 12 quart pot with my Nano 3.0. Now, you can use zip-lock bags, but I chose to use vacuum sealed bags. After making a few recipes and talking with friends, you don’t need vacuum sealed bags. But, it does help to get all the air out and keep things sealed.
TIP: I know clips aren’t technically required, but I would recommend them. In my early goings, I had a few errors where the bags would float too close to the Nano thus interfering with the Nano. Clipping the bags to the side of the pot helped to make sure that didn’t happen.
The first recipe I tried was a maple glazed salmon that I got from the Anova app. That might have been the best salmon I have ever had. The meat was cooked perfectly. I have since experimented with some chicken recipes, and I am dying to try making some steaks. So far, everything has worked really well.
Cons: My only nitpick is that it can take quite a while for the Nano 3.0 to preheat the water. Be prepared, it might take anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour to get the water to temp. The app only starts its timer when the water is at temp. If you put the food in before the water is preheated, it will cook longer. But I never noticed any problems with that as meat was never overdone.
I wish it were easier to take the unit apart for cleaning purposes. I can take an end cap off and drain water, but I can’t really clean anything else out. I guess since I’m only putting this in water and I’m not getting food on the Nano, it should be fine. Time will tell.
Conclusion: I’m looking into a plastic container and am scouring the net for recipes. I’m hooked. Sous vide is a lot of fun and the Nano 3.0 works great. The wi-fi features are intuitive and easy to use. The app does everything I want to do. If you give yourself plenty of time, I think you will really enjoy the Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0. I highly recommend it.

First let me state, I am not a chef, foodie or even someone who cooks regularly. I had of course heard about Sous Vide, even tried food prepared this way at a friend’s home. I used the Anova precision cooker to prepare a meal of Filet Mignon, fingerling potatoes and mushrooms. All three recipes came from the Internet. The recipe did say the filet would come out a greyish brown color and you would want to sear it in a pan before serving (picture attached). The sous vide water bath resulted in an evenly cooked, tender filet. The fingerling potatoes came out fluffy. The mushrooms came out fabulous. They too had to be sautéed after being removed. When I sauté mushrooms they end up flat. With the sous vide they were still plump and oh so very tender, even after sautéing.
Although you need to place the food in a plastic bag, it turns out it does not have to be any type of fancy vacuum sealing bag. You can use high quality (brand name) plastic storage bags. A bit of research shows, they are BPA free. You do have to get as much as air as possible out of the bag. You can do this with a water immersion technique, a video with instructions is on the Anova site. Air in the bag will cause the bag to float to the top and thus food at the top of the bag won’t have the sous vide experience.
The Anova Precision Cooker is small, sits on the edge of the pot. The digital temperature and time setting are quite simple to use. You can also download the Anova app and use it to control the precision cooker.

The Anova – Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 is a new approach to a classic French cooking called Sous Vide – or under vacuum. Traditionally, this style cooking uses vacuum-sealed bags of food, thus the name, cooked in water to perfection. This aims to lock in flavor and moisture while ensuring safe temperatures for the food. Anova’s approach gives you amazing control by adding traditional Sous Vide cooking with modern technology of WiFi and smart apps. Additionally, you can use zip-lock style bags instead of needing to invest in a vacuum sealer unit.
We found this product to be surprisingly easy to use, even for not having personally cooked using this style before. We had an idea of what food should turn out like since we have eaten Sous Vide cooked food before. The controls are easy to use, easy to see, and the WiFi connectivity meant we did not have to stand over the proverbial “boiling pot” while it cooked.
PROS
– Anova’s technology, innovation, and design
– Easy to use touch controls
– Connectivity and app
– Ability to use vacuum-sealed or zip-lock bags for cooking
– Fits most any pot
CONS
– None at this time

I have been a happy user of the original Anova for quite a few years, so I had a pretty good idea what to expect and see with this newer model. In short, I could not be happier.
The unit is well-built, looks good and has very clear and responsive controls. While it is not “much” smaller than the standard model, it is absolutely a bit more compact. It is just enough to make a nice difference in use and storage. You can use some smaller vessels and it takes up just a little less space when you put it away.
As for performance, I really can’t say anything bad here. It is just about as easy to use as you could ever expect (the app is also great), and while it may be “slightly” less powerful than more pricier models, it can easily handle most jobs. If you are really looking to do some large-sized jobs, maybe you will want to skip this Nano, but, frankly, I think most people will be covered here. Further, I have found that it really does nail its temperatures, in terms of being precise and consistent. I couldn’t really ask for more.
Honestly, I really hesitate to say anything is perfect, but this unit comes pretty close. I just really do not have any complaints. Beyond that, and probably more importantly, it does what it is designed for very well, has a good build, and comes from a respected brand in the space. As I said earlier, unless you really need more power, I think most would be very happy with this sous vide cooker.

I can’t believe I’ve never known about yet alone used one before – this Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 is ridiculously amazing! It is small and compact, so very easy to use and it makes incredibly delicious food. There is an app which is helpful to allow you to see what temp the cooker is at, how much time is left and some other settings as well as some cooking guides & other resource information. Other than that, no extras to fiddle with here. Simply attach it with its simple plastic finger screw tightener, to the inside of a pot or container that is able to hold enough water to submerge what you’re preparing. Tighten the plastic “screw” to hold it in place. Fill the pot with water between the min and max lines. Set for your desired temperature and time. Personally, I had never prepared anything sous vide before, so I had no clue. I asked my friend Google for assistance. Per her advice, I set my skirt steak at 130° for 2 hours. The steak came prepared from the store already marinaded inside a sealed, air tight package, so I just placed the package into my stock pot with the required amount of water and started the Anova. Then I watched a movie while the Anova heated and circulated the water. It beeped when time was up, but my movie wasn’t over, so I let it set in the warm water for about 1/2 hour longer. Apparently the steak was cooked though I couldn’t tell until I removed it from the bag. Yes, it was cooked, but not so pretty, yet. I wanted some char, so I put the steak in a hot pan for just a minute or two on each side. At that point, the steak was beautiful. It turned out to be the most tender & juicy skirt steak I have had, and I’ve had a lot in my life. It was cooked to the perfect medium rare and it was cooked evenly from end to end. Skirt steak tends to be tough or chewy but not this time! Finally I’ve found the perfect way to prepare skirt steaks. Next time after its bath, I will throw it on the grill for a minute, YUM. I can’t wait to see how this will work with chicken, ribs (I’m salivating as I write!), veggies, fish and so much more. Yes, it takes some time, but the wait is so worth it! I HIGHLY recommend this Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0!

The Anova – Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 is quite a culinary experience. Simple to use and definitely won’t burn your food. Cooking via sous vide does take more planning and definitely more time. But the results are worth it for consistency of cooking.
Setup is simple, you could literally plug it in, turn it on, set the temperature and start cooking right away. It also has bluetooth connectivity and using the Anova app you can monitor and control the cooking process. Being the “nano”, it does not take up much space in your kitchen drawer. The height of the clamp isn’t adjustable, but it can clamp to just about any pot. Just need to meet the minimum water line. Temperature control is digital and pretty precise. It has a very minimal whirring noise when using.
It’s almost like a set it and forget style of cooking.
I did some ribeyes and the inside had a very consistent medium color throughout, after I seared it. I like the quick sear after the long slow cooking process. Luckily, I also have the Anova sous vide sealer and bags, which is nice to suck all the air out of the bag, which minimizes floating. What I really enjoyed was cooking salmon with it. The salmon was moist and flaky after a quick sear. Using the Anova vacuum sealer, also helps the seasoning in the bag penetrate the meat and make it more flavorful.
It would be nice if the Anova – Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 came with a quick start recipes, because honestly it’s practically ready to go out of the box. BUT there are plenty of sous vide recipes out in the WWW and on their app and page.
Could I use it daily, probably not, due to longer cooking process, but definitely could be a planned weekend meal. It is definitely a new way to cook that, I haven’t experienced before. Everyone should give it a try, I’m sure with practice and planning I could get better and more diverse in my recipes.
EXWOLF –
This Anova Precision Cooker is as easy to use as it gets. It’s as simple as filling a container or pot with water and then attaching the precision cooker to it and setting the desired temperature and cook time. What’s even better is that it comes with a cooking guide for different types of meals that you may want to make. I decided to cook a boneless steak with the precision cooker using the recipe and cooking technique explained through the Anova App. I followed all the directions and placed my steak in a Ziploc bag and submerged in the water for 2 hours on 130 degrees to get a medium rare cooked steak. Upon completion, I took the temperature of the steak at it was at 135 internal temperature so I put it on the stove to sear to my liking. I always overcook the steak when it’s on the stove but with the precision cooker, it came out just the way I wanted it to. It maintained all the juicy tenderness that a steak should have and I enjoyed a nice meal because of it. This precision cooker is definitely part of my cooking routine now due to how simple it is to use. You can even connect it to your home network so you can communicate with it through the app. 10/10 would recommend!

So I’ve always kinda been intrigued by the sous vide cooking method but never took the plunge. Because like most people I’ve relayed my experience using the Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 to, I always assumed it was just “boiling the food in a bag.” But actually using this tool, I don’t think I’ll really go back to cooking like I used to!
For setup/use, it is really simple, obviously, remove all the plastics and labels from the device, read up instructions in the manual or app. It has a screw turn clamp to secure it to you pot or container. It does work best with a taller and thicker side wall pot/container as far as securing the product to container. It has trouble with my 8qt Martha Stewart stainless steel vs my 6.5qt Ninja NeverStick pot as the Ninja has slightly thicker sidewalls. But my only real issue is that it refuses to connect to my WiFi, it always states that it can’t connect due to incorrect password, even though I know my password is correct.
I mostly use it for meat products like steaks, pork chops and chicken and every time I am impressed by how just juicy and flavorful everything turns out. Obviously, it can do other items like veggies, seafood etc. But there’s something about how the flavors of your seasonings and aromatics penetrate the food and makes every bite that much more enjoyable. So much so, that I haven’t used a sauce topping or dipping sauce with my meats since. Yes, it’s another step or two in the cooking process, but I feel like the results speak for themselves and makes it worth it. I mean you were going to prep/marinate anyway, but that flavor was just going to be on the top layer at most, why not get all the flavor throughout?
I’m in no means a chef or great cook, but I do well and never had a complaint and nor will I say this Anova product make you a great chef, but used properly, you can turn out some pretty great dishes with ease.

I had been told by folks that have used a sous vide cooker that I would love the meals that come from it. Well I have to say that the meals are quite amazing. This does come with a downside and that is time. Let’s start with the quality first. I tried two main dishes, steaks and chicken, and both were amazing. Unlike of methods of cooking, there is no overcooking of a dish. Steaks were tender and flavorful and the chicken breasts were juicy! Although cooking with it is simple it does require some steps that you may not be used to. For me this was a big change since I have been on an air-fryer instant cooker kick for some time and been pretty happy. Those are usually ways to cook a meal that comes out pretty good in a short period of time. Sous vide requires a bit more time and planning. You will need either zip-top bags or a vacuum sealer, I already had the sealer so no big deal, a larger pot and time. for the steaks I think total time, prep to plate was about 1.5 hours. Once the cooker is done, I still seared the steak in an iron skillet for the final step. What did I get after the effort? A steak that was better than any steakhouse I have eaten at! The meat was tender and juicy on the inside and crips an flavorful on the out. I was actually able to cut the steak with my fork!!! This is not the method I would use to cook dinner on a nightly but for the times where quality is paramount it will be my go to!

Anova – Precision Cooker Nano 3.0
Let me start out that I love Anova products. They work exactly as advertised and offer great quality at an affordable price. The Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 does not disappoint and continues that tradition in most facets. That is not to say there are some shortcomings compared to some of its big brothers. In review:
Construction, fit and finish –
The first thing you notice is that it is small – very small. Hence the name “Nano.” It is the smallest and lighter cooker in the Anova line up. It is about 1 inch smaller in every dimension and nearly half the weight compared to the Cooker Pro (of which I own two.) That makes this only 12.8 inches tall and weighs only 1.54 lbs. The display is clear but it is on the smallish side compared to some other models. Those with large fingers may not find it as usable. However, this is not overly important since it is app controlled as well ( which I only use on all the Anova cookers.) The Nano 3.0 is made of sleek black plastic with a tight fit and finish. I do prefer the Pro design that uses a lot of metal.
Set up and the app-
You have a choice to operate the unit with or without the app. If you are in a hurry , you can remove the protective plastic , put it in a water filled pot and plug it in. You will be up and running in a few minutes. Of course, the Nano 3.0 is designed to work best with the app. Simply download the app, create an account and connect to the Nano 3.0. The app immediately identifies the Nano when you reach the connecting phase, very simple. After connecting, the app will probably tell you there is new firmware for the unit. It only takes about 2 minutes to update and then you are up and running. From there, you can choose to set the temperature and time based on a recipe or choose from the multitude of guides and recipes. When you choose a guide for a meat, it will show you various pictures for doneness and take you through the steps. While you can choose to not use the app, there is whole another world when you do. The app is well thought out with an easy-to-use UI.
Performance –
I tested the Nano 3.0 cooking chicken cutlets that were vacuumed sealed with seasoning a small amount of broth. Anova makes an affordable great vacuum sealer that is perfect to use with the Nano. I set the timer on an hour at 150 degrees. The first thing the app and the Nano told me is that I did not have enough water in the pot. I knew that as I was already adding more water to pot. It is a nice safety feature. The first thing I noticed is that it did take considerably longer than my Anova Cooker Pro did to heat up water – like a lot longer. I probably used a larger pot that I had to ( 12 quarts,) but it is also because the Nano 3.0 is 850 watts as opposed to the 1200 watts I am used it. The Nano 3.0 also did not circulate the water as fast as the larger Anova units. However, it did maintain temperature just as well – barely fluctuating by .1 degrees are so. Impressive for such a small unit. In the end, it took about 1 hour and 20 minutes to cook the chicken including the time it took to reach the temperature set point. You can check the app along the way and it will alert you once the cooking cycle is complete. The chicken came out exactly as intended – juicy, tender and not stringy.
In conclusion, the Anova Nano 3.0 does not disappoint. The unit does exactly as advertised; albeit slower than I like. The Nano 3.0 is designed for smaller meals and perfect for one two people. I can see it falling short for larger items or larger batches of foods. If you look at the specifications, it shows it has a flow rate of 7 liters a minute whereas the Anova Pro Cooker has 12 liters a minute. That is a big difference and could impact the evenness. However, that probably will not matter for most people who are only cooking for two. Another big difference is the price. The Nano 3.0’s regular price is nearly 25% less than the top of the line Anova and well within line of other competitors. Overall, I think this is one best values you can get and will be an unbelievable deal if you find it on sale. Putting the Anova cookers aside , I’d like to point out how great the app is. It is simply the best on the market and the main reason I love the Anova Cookers. If this is first try in the sous vide world, I highly recommend the Nano 3.0. If you are a bit more experienced or cooking larger meals, look to some of the Anova Pro units. Bottom line, you cannot go wrong with Anova.

I have always wondered about sous vide and really wanted to try it out for myself. I had seen many cooking ideas on YouTube, I wanted to see what the fuss is about. Now that I have tried the Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0, I only wish I had done it sooner.
Cooking with the Anova Precision Cooker is so wonderfully easy. It is almost ready to go straight out of the box. You will need a couple of things to use this device and a couple of things are optional. You will need some sort of deep pot or container that is at least 6-7 inches deep. The clip that holds the Precision Cooker in place is fixed. You need a pot this deep to be able to mount the Precision Cooker to the side of the container. You may want to get a vacuum sealer and bags for cooking; however, this is not necessary to use this product. You can use Ziploc bags if you prefer. The big thing is you will need something to put the food in that allows you to remove the air. The food should be fully submerged while cooking.
With everything in place, you will likely want to connect your Precision Cooker to the Anova app. This is available for both iOS and Android. This device allows you to connect and even control you cooker. The app is also amazing because it contains hundreds of recipes for just about any food that you can think of that requires cooking.
The Anova Precision Cooker is easy to use. I started off with something simple – hamburgers. I filled my pot with water and started heating it to the right temperature. The recipe in the app told me what temperature to put it at. Medium rare has a different temperature than well done. You just pick the temperature that works for you. As the water heated up, I prepared the patties and put them in vacuum sealed bags. Depending on how big the container is, the time it takes to heat the water will vary. Once it is at the temperature, all you must do is submerge the food in the water and go.
The great thing about the Precision Cooker is you are not constrained to a certain time. Having the water at a constant temperature allows the food to cook thoroughly and then stay at that temperature. So, you can cook for 45 minutes or let it cook for 4 hours. You eat when you want. When it is time, take the food out of the bag. For the hamburgers, I just seared each side of the burgers in a skillet for about 45 seconds each, and they were good to go. Cooked this way, the burgers were juicy and tasty. It was as good as a restaurant.
I tried other foods with similar success. Salmon, chicken, pork chops, and vegetables were all easy to cook. You can even cook different things at the same time. You can prepare food in a vacuum sealed bag on Sunday and cook it Wednesday for dinner. It is so easy and the food tastes amazing. The Precision Cooker has changed the way I cook in my kitchen.
I am amazed at the Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0. It has made cooking 100 times easier and the food tastes better than ever. If you want restaurant style food that is easy to make at home, I highly recommend the Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0. The food is absolutely delicious.

I have learned a whole new way of cooking with the Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 that makes foods tasty and enjoyable to eat again. I had heard of Sous Vide cooking in the past but had no idea what it really was until I had the opportunity to learn with this device. As a cancer survivor I was initially unsure about cooking in plastic, but the more I studied the process and researched vacuum sous vide bags on the market, the more I became more comfortable with the method and learned this new way of cooking and preparing meals.
Sous Vide is an old cooking technique that means “under vacuum”. This cooking method does not actually boil food in plastic bags but instead cooks vacuum packed foods that have been submerged in water. The water is heated to specific temperatures based on the food being prepared. The various recipes call for cooking at temperatures under 190 degrees F, so the water never actually boils. This process cooks the food slowly and evenly and with the Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 you can determine just how long and at what temperature the cooking should take place.
The Anova Cooker can be paired with the Anova Connect and Anova Culinary Apps through Bluetooth. On the Culinary app, various recipes for different types of meat and vegetable dishes give directions of exactly how to prepare the food, how long to cook each selection, and at what temperature to cook it to make it safe to eat. You can also set the temperature and time manually. Cooking can be stopped manually, by use of the app, or by using the timer built into the cooking device.
I am discovering new recipes and enjoying meats like chicken and sirloin again. Because this method retains the moisture in everything cooked using this process the foods taste juicier and seem healthier than what has been my normal meals of overcooked meat on a grill or under a broiler or vegetables steamed too long.
I am very impressed with this device, and I recommend the Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 to anyone looking to make more delicious meals. The Anova Cooker is very affordable, makes meals more delicious and its even adds an element of fun to cooking.

First and foremost, sous vide cooking is not for everyone. It simply takes too long. That said precision cooking is both a science and an art form. I am writing this review from the point of view of someone who is willing to take the time to cook.
The Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 is one of Anova’s latest precision cookers. The main differentiator is that it is a smart sous vide. But let me discuss first how it functions as a basic or manual souse vide.
In general, the Precision Cooker Nano is generally the same as any other sous vide. You may either use an ordinary deep pot or a sous vide container. But do note that the sous vide container is not really necessary. Controls are pretty much straightforward as you can set the target temperature and timer on the touch screen panel. I did notice that there seems to be no power off button but that is not a big deal.
I have tested this unit by cooking one of the most popular recipes for sous vide cooking namely poached eggs. I have tried the so called “fast and easy” technique for cooking poached eggs on a sous vide. I set the temperature to 166F and preheated it and set the timer for 14 minutes. Needless to say the result was perfect poached eggs. Compared to the traditional way, this is way more effective albeit longer. But then again poached eggs can be stored for a day and you can make your initial preparation ahead of time.
As mentioned earlier, this is a smart device, You can download the app from either the app store both for Apple and Android. The app is simply an extension of the touch screen panel of the sous vide. But one thing to note though is that you can save your recipes in the app so that you don’t have to look for your recipes elsewhere.
Overall the Anova Precision Cooker Nano works as advertised even though souse vide cookers have been around. Fore those serious about their cooking, the Anova sous vide is a great tool for the kitchen. I would highly recommend this product.

I enjoy cooking with the Anova – Precision Cooker Nano 3.0. I read the instructions and warnings and then downloaded the APP. I like using the Anova APP because it tells me what the temperature, time and such is without me running to the kitchen to keep an eye on my food. The cooker will not work with 5g internet. I had to use 2.4 that had set up for guests. You can use the cooker without the APP or the internet but you need to check the info on Nano to know when it’s ready. Each way has pros and cons.
I found UTube videos on how to use the Nano cooker very helpful. I didn’t want to spend extra money so used a 8 quart stainless steel pot that I had on hand and aluminum foil to cook with my Nano. I with the electric cord was longer so I could set it on my cook stove as it’s very short. I put a couple silicone pot protectors on my counter and under my pot before starting the Nano heating up process. I found that it heated faster if I covered my pot with aluminum foil. Thus helping my Nano to perform faster. I initially used the recipes in the APP as there are tons of them but now I just come up with my own. It is so easy. My food turned out PERFECT every time. My meats were juicy, my veggies were colorful and flavorful. I love the health benefits of retaining the vitamins and minerals of food. I love my Nano!
I had never seen anyone cook with a precision cooker before so I had to teach myself all the tricks.

Sous Vide is hands down one of the most convenient methods of meal prep, and the Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3 helps make this process a breeze. It’s easy to use and setup, and you’re only minutes away from getting started with cooking your meals perfectly out of the box.
Along with the cooker, you’re going to need a deep pot and some zip loc bags. There’s an app used to setup the device and connect it to your wifi. Once connected you have a library of cooking methods and recipes presented to you which makes it really easy to cook your meats to a perfect level of done per your preference. My only complaint about the app at this time is that it doesn’t have an audible timer alert to let you know when it’s done. So I had to check it or look for the notification.
I cooked some chicken thighs, pork chops, and steak sirloins with it. I used some simple zip loc bags and I seasoned each item to my personal taste and then sealed the bag. It took about an hour to cook each item, but the app gives you precise temp settings and time. The only con with cooking is that it doesn’t shut down when time is up, it keeps the water heated to the same temp which would continue cooking the meat if you aren’t keeping an eye on the app. The challenge is that it does take over an hour to cook so it would be nice if they did stop.
Once cooked you can simply freeze or store the meat in the fridge for a few days. You can simply choose to heat them up with a microwave or opt to drop your meat in the pan and fry it up real quick to get a bit of a sear on it.
All in all, I find it easy to use and it does a bang up job making the meat cooked to perfection while enabling you to meal prep like a champ. I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a great immersion circulator. It is actually very simple without a lot of parts or complexity.
The set up was super easy and I just pulled it out of the box and plugged it in, then found it in the app on my phone and it got everything working with pretty easy step by step instructions.
As for the device itself, it’s pretty easy to understand when you have it in your hands. The clip on the side easily attaches to the side of a pot and you can get up and going in minutes. I’ve used it on a large and medium stock pot as well as a fairly large roasting pan to do a bit more food.
Most of the time I just used a ziplock bag that I filled the submerged under water to push out the air before I sealed it. It worked great with fish and steak. I also used it to make soft boiled eggs by just putting the eggs in the pot with the cooker and they turned out great.
Like any kitchen tool, the results depend more on the quality of your ingredients and your recipe than the tool, but it does take a bit to figure out what time and temperature will give you the best results for what you are cooking.
However, the cooker itself works wonderfully. I even did a cook where I left a probe thermometer in the water to test how accurate the water temperature was. It wasn’t exactly on, but always within 0.2 degrees and it was close enough that it would not affect your cooking and could be accounted for by just being too close or far away from the cooker.
Overall I’m very happy with it and plan to even get a vacuum sealer to try and do a few fancier recipes.

I don’t know about you but I always seem to struggle when it comes to cooking my meats to the right temp. There is such a fine line between medium and well done that it’s hard to achieve precise control in temp management. That’s where the Anova Precision cooker comes in. Sous Vide allows you to have perfect cooking at home. The same immersion circulators used at restaurants for years are now available at home. The Anova app allows you to connect to the unit and use the recipes in creating great dishes at home. You have to have at least a 12 inch stock pot to use the cooker properly due to its depth but a good quality stock pot is not too expensive if you don’t have one already. All it takes is one recipe and you will be hooked. I guarantee you there is no better way to cook your meat at home and you will be a believer after the first bite. After cooking any meat with the Anova you can simply take it out and quick sear it in the stove. Vegetables also come out great and there are an endless amount of recipes available on the app. The app allows you to control the Anova from you phone however I seemed to have a lot of trouble connecting with my phone but I believe it is more related my phone not the Anova

Always wanted a sous vide and this did not disappoint. Very easy to use. Cleanup in just seconds. Results of the food cooked was wonderful. The app that connects with blue tooth works fine. Recipes and general techniques included.

No issues so far. Setup is easy and cleaning is simple. Use about 12hrs a week and no issues.
YawningBear –
It is an excellent tool for cooking my steaks, chicken, and fish to the right temperature without worrying about undercooking or overcooking them. After it’s done cooking all I need to do is pan sear it. It’s very easy to set up. All you need is a pan and water. It’s a very easy to operate and you can use the app to operate on the phone too.

Magical. Food from this device is so unbelievably good!!!!
Wolfpapi –
Use this every day! Cooking perfect medium rare steaks is so easy. Even novice cooks like myself seem like expert level chefs with this thing
Rrr7 –
We got steak right one the first try! It was very easy to set up and get started.
Swami –
Defective on arrival. Unit “current temperature” always showing 32.7F. This makes the heater boil the water. Lacks quality.
Brian –
Using in an off label way to create and maintain a low temperature bath for manufacturing operations in tech environment. Works as advertised and has very accurate temperature control. Built in circulation pump also helps keep bath water consistent
PapaBrady –
After one use, this model stopped reading the temperature and kept heating the water. Upon looking online, we found that this model has a consistent issue from almost every consumer who buys this particular model.
DavidL –
Quiet, efficient, produces consistent results with beef and chicken (that is basically all we use it for). This replaced a different brand that was a bit “louder” in the way it circulated water. This one is so quiet I had to dump some coffee in the pot to see the circulation pattern. It emits from the back of the device. Two thumbs up.
SteveR –
Works great. App is pretty good to. Would recommend it to a friend or family member. The only thing I’m not fond of is the housing around the heating element isn’t removable for cleaning off hard water deposits. Could use distilled water to avoid this.
AnnieS –
I absolutely love this gadget! Using it to make yogurt and other cultured products and it is amazing! Never could get the WiFi set up to work. Kept saying my password was incorrect, which it wasn’t. But I don’t care about that.

Since my wife is the cook using this device, this review is written by her, but the item was purchased through my Best Buy account.
I come to sous vide cooking with no previous experience, simply a love of kitchen gadgets, the goal of increasing animal protein intake and the desire to learn how to cook tender meats I might enjoy more than my traditional cooking methods.
I read the manual and installed the application on my phone. There are recipes in the application as well as the opportunity to add your own personal recipes and/or cook programs.
I felt no need to buy a container. I am able to chose from pots I have on hand since I cook smaller portions for our small family. The stainless steel pot from my 6 quart Instant Pot works for most items I’ve made.
I’ve made beef roasts, chicken breasts, eggs, turkey breast roast & beef steaks with ease. As time goes on you learn what cook temperature and cook time best suit your taste.
I did purchase a few accessories to enhance my sous vide cooking experience:
– Sous Vide Chainmail Stainless Steel Weights
– Sous Vide Silicone Lid
– Food Vacuum Sealer
I would highly recommend this 850 watt Anova – Precision Cooker Nano 3.0. I find it effectively & consistently maintained my desired temperatures & performed beautifully for my home use. There are additional models available in higher wattages for quicker temperature rise and for those cooking in larger volume containers.
Pros:
Compact
Lightweight
Easy to store
No assembly required
Reasonably priced
Easy to operate
Phone app with recipes & remote access
Consistently reliable cook results
Easy to clean
Quiet
Precision temperature control
Operate either with the application or manually
Cons:
The cord is about 38” in length which is about 12” shorter than what would be ideal for my needs.
Planning is required. It typically takes longer for quality results than traditional cooking methods.

Great holiday gift for the culinary enthusiasts in my family!
Everyone can cook the perfect steak, poached the perfect fish, soft eggs and even slow cook some stews.

Easy to use and steak was was very tender. Great price
DannyP –
Beautiful stuff easy to use love to cook with this turn this out meat become so delicious
Janna –
This does a great job with steaks or pork chops, I haven’t tried it with any other proteins.
MeMyselfandI –
Its alright, takes 4 hours to cook two chicken breasts. Results are the same as if you do high heat searing. Steak can take just as long. I found myself doing more dishes too, because you need a pot to sous vide in, then you need a pan for finishing off. Also need vaccum bags or rolls, which I already had. Not much flavor difference either after sealing with spices and fresh herbs. I’m actually pretty disappointed.
ChrisC –
Good value for the price. Giving as a gift for Christmas
AlmostAvgDad –
Easy to get started and so far after 3 cooks with it everything turned out perfect. It linked easily to the app and the app has some good easy to follow recipes. Definitely going to invest into a proper sous vide cooking container with lid but the stock pot ive used so far worked fine.
ElijahA –
Excellent product, bought it for christmas and would buy this again in a heartbeat. Very user friendly and has made dinner time easy as pie.
JWang –
easy to use, and does come with WIFI feature. That is basically what I would expect for a precision cooker.
ErickM –
Great starting sou vide machine if you can for a discount
JackDempsey –
I bought this at the recommendation of my brother, who does a lot of cooking for large parties. He “precooks” with an Anova sous vide and then finishes by searing meat on a grill. I attended parties and saw good results. Purchased Anova cooker to match his. The unit is intuitive and easy to operate out of the box. I did get a tip or two from the brother, again. Chose ribs for first attempt, cooking about 6 hrs after using a dry rub. Then finished in the oven. The results were fall-off-the-bone delicious.
SummerR –
Have used once, works great so far. Best buy also had it delivered in a timely matter. First ever sous vide! Brought for my boyfriend for Christmas.

This was a Christmas gift for a family friend. She absolutely loves it! Delivery came early which was nice.
