  1. DanielC

Thing is a beast i kinda wish i got the 3D but this thing cooks!

  2. DanielC

Used a Ryzen 5 chip last, so much better! I utilize my CPU not only for gaming, but for music production and it just hammers out. Runs a little hot and would recommend at least a 3 fan cooler.

  3. dvr7

Excellent value. Dropped in replacement of my 1800x and its night and day 🙂

  4. DavidWentzel

i haven’t used over 24% of this cpu yet super powerful!

  5. JustinS

upgraded from the 5900x and I only wish I would of done this sooner

  6. ChrisT

Great product. It performed exactly as I expected.

  7. EricH

Amazing processor, will help run any game at high to ultra graphics with no issues.

  8. LoganBC

Easily my favorite cpu to build and work with great for gaming and game design awesome multi and single core action and crazy fast

  9. GavenG

Simply a powerhouse building my pc with this chip is amazing, very smooth, fast !

  10. NHDRUMS

I mean how can you go wrong with the best possible AM4 processor?

  11. DasAuto

Runs more efficient than my previous 3900X, a great performance boost to unlock potential of my 3080Ti and 64GB DDR4 RAM. Can’t go wrong with getting top tier 5000 series as upgrading to 7000 series with DDR5 is still pretty expensive.. should be good to go with this sweetspot combo for a few years yet, don’t have to have power & heat hog machine setup from a Threadripper to get great 16-core/32-thread performance!

Installed this with a 360 radiator aio from corsair in a 5000D corsair case with Tm70 thermal past. Out of the box it over heats and shuts down after starting a game because the auto core voltage is too aggressive. Go into bios and set core voltage to 1.35 and that will fix anyones issue. If you want to push the cpu to a little more just rais it by .05 volts at a time till you have a stable sustem. Personaly i like a cooler cpu than normal so i set mine to 1.25 for safe measure and runs all my games fine paired with a 3080ti at 4k. Max setting with ray yracing off in cuberpunk can get to 60fps and an average of 37 with ray tracing enabled set to psycho and DLSS to quality (path tracing dissabled not playable but if you run 1440p then you can max everything with it enabled at 35 average fps with the low being 29.5 fps and highs in the 50’s on their benchmark )

  13. DTaylor

I was looking for an upgrade for my gaming pc and definitely found one. Previous processor was a Ryzen 7 2700x and this was a huge step up. Ended up using the NZXT Kraken 280 for the cooler and have no problems running anything I want.

  14. Techsavvy1

Very fast cpu. If you get this when on sale get it as of 07/26/2023.

If there’s a con it DDR4 not DDR5 but it is on one’s budget. I saved about 1 to 1.5 year to Bulid my 3rd custom pc in late 2022. I am happy with it. Corsair DDR4 3600MHZ and Western Digital 750 1TB name both from Bestbuy also.

The MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK Gaming Motherboard is what I am using works great and work right out of the box on first release of bios. If place the nvme drive the slot closer slot to the cpu socket it may get up 55-75c if rendering or editing.

  15. EikoH

Great item! I am looking for that. Price also good and easy use.

  16. Lanaanakk

A good cpu card!!!One of the best in my opinion. Will definitely recommend

  17. DarthMAULer5

Amazing. Unlocked option let me O/C with easy and clearly assist with frames! Love this product

  18. RobertoB

Great part worked very we’ll definitely recommend.

  19. Gallicat

Bought at the same time as a new motherboard because I didn’t know which one had failed in my old setup. New CPU was dead on arrival and did not work once installed in the new motherboard. Only upside is that I had a different CPU that DID work in the new morherboard, which let me know that the issue had been my old motherboard. Returned the dead CPU with no issues. Giving 3 stars because my current CPU is not far off in series number from the new-but-dead one, and the return process was quick and simple.

  20. Greenwood

This CPU is still a monster of a processor. Not much you can throw at it to make it falter. Got it on sale

  21. Jess

I love it. I ran tests to see what games my computer could NOT run and there was only one game. Its amazing what these ugrades can do.

  22. JordanG

When I bought this it was the best cpu you could buy the Ryzen 9 7950X3D came out after but I don’t think it’s much of a difference in performance so this is definitely the BEST bang for buck especially if you want your pc to be future proof with this cpu you will never need a upgrade

  23. Christian

This cpu is really good I jumped up from a Ryzen 7 to this one and it enhanced my FPS as well as being able to handle my editing and rendering softwares . Highly recommend it !

  24. Lisa

This was given as a gift. He said it was everything he wanted and more. One of the best CPU’s you can get.

  25. MichaelP

This processor outperforms anything from Intel. and the price cant be beat. I have always been an AMD fan.

  26. JoelG

A super fast cpu that help u with VR application:)

  27. Ahmed

I was really happy with the reliability and the performance of this product. I bought this product for my home server and am pleased with the purchase.

  28. NicolasL

Great cpu! Very fast, have not had any problems. I did need to buy and install a cooling system for it though so keep that in mind.

  29. ChadF

Out of the box this cpu has been great for me. Teamed up with some good ddr4 ram and a running it in performance mode. It does everything I’ve asked it to.

The only downside. Is making sure you have a good cooling system. If not and you try to run it overclocked it will toss out some heat.

  30. Alejandrokk362809

I went from buying intel to Amd, amd will last longer and save you money in the long run

  31. jstar

It runs hot but shes a beast yeah she is. Make sure to get a proper air cooler.

  32. evoluzione

Fantastic processor, however, the one I purchased online and picked up instore at a Best Buy a fair distance away was obviously a previously returned item. The seal was broken on the box, which I queried when picking up (was told I could bring it back if not working, so that’s good at least).
So, I treked back home, installed the processor (which took a while as I had to uninstall the AIO that was currently installed etc. and popped this 5950X in…
…Aaaand of course it failed to POST.
So I returned it for a refund. A complete waste of my afternoon.

  33. Jacob

The only con i have is that I had to wait to have it shipped. It to toke over two weeks to ship to the BestBuy locker location. It was in original box and was as described. i installed it with no issues. I’d buy again

  34. Omar

Definitely an amazing cpu. Runs a little hot even with a high performance liquid cooler installed on it but if you have good airflow it should help. (I believe it’s normal for Ryzens to run hot anyway)

  35. GustavoT

Best Buy sent me what appeared to be a returned item, box was resealed with a different chip in it.

I returned the item and now best buy is putting the blame on me for their previous mistake.

This is the last time I will be purchasing anything from the best buy online store. From now on if it’s not picked up in person, and they check the items before I leave, I am not risking it.

Very disappointed with the way Best Buy has handled this situation.

  36. JosephS

This R9 is a great CPU. I haven’t had any issues with it’s performance. I am only giving this 4 of 5 stars because one of the pins were bent right out of the box. Best buy couldn’t assist me at the time due to not being able to get another one in a timely manner. I was able to fix the bent pin after 1 hour of stress and steady hands but, it’s not something I should have to worry about after the amount of money spent for this. Regardless, the issue really isn’t on Best Buys end. How would they know it had a bent pin from the factory?

  37. Unknown

A beast of a CPU and a little bit of overkill for what I need it for

  38. BinRaleigh

I didn’t really need this, more of a want. But this is so fast it is silly. Looking at Task Manager’s CPU view it show that I rarely use all the cores, so the threads never show any activity.

Games do not really show an improvement, need a better graphics card, over my old 5600x but processing videos no takes almost no time at all.

The downside was my rather small air cooler really was not up to the task, so that meant a new cooler. Which was too tall for my case by about 1/4″. So, I also have a new case also. I ended up spending an additional $200. Just something to be aware of.

Definitely worth the money, but be sure to understand the total cost if you are moving from a 65W processor to this 100W processor.

  39. Patrick

After two years of using this CPU in my machine, everything is working great!

  40. Tanner

Decent price for a great processor, builds up heat quickly so i had to get an all-in-one water cooler, but it works really well.

  41. MobeenA

Amazing performance, very fast speeds. Reliable. Love it.

  42. Ryan

This is one of the best cpu I have personally owned I would recommend this one

  43. Joelle

love this processor got it on a discount and a year in and she still is as powerfull as ever

  44. L33WCiD

I ordered this because I needed to upgrade my current cpu to something a little more powerful compared to my ryzen 5 and this is just what I needed! The ryzen 9 was by far the best choice I made! Plus I just love this company and the products they offer!

  45. Tommy

What can i say other than this cpu being a beast. Not the best gaming 5000 series cpu but it keeps up with the 5800x3d while also being a workstation beast

  46. HolidayMagic

This thing benches as ufo and it really does fly . Im surprised they didnt have to install a tial pipe out the back . Got soooo much power shoot flames from the rear if it was a car

  47. JuanG

This is good for the price, I’m recommend it for a good pc gaming

  48. KristinaP

Great product. Works better than anticipated and i would suggest to others.

  49. Bscott

So nice to have especially if you’re running emulations on your computer. Flawless playing ncaa 14 emulation. Haven’t had it go above 70 C with my cooler

  50. GamingMotherboard

Performs beyond specs with my ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming motherboard. All the way up to 5.1Ghz with the default auto overclocking settings.
