    It is pretty slow to load. My main problem is that it does not allow me to set which apps/websites I can let my kids use (such as duolingo) without using the ‘kid’ mode, which includes a TON of “approved” videos and links that I don’t want.
    If you don’t mind letting your kids access all the preloaded videos from them, (or you don’t have kids) then it is fine, just a bit slow. You can turn off the preloaded content, but then it can’t access the browser at all.

    This tablet is $40 on sale and $60 regular. It can’t do everything a regular android tablet or iOS device could, but it’s great for kids. It’s great for a starter device. I got it because I like the bigger screen (compared to my phone) for mobile games. It’s not super fast, but it’s useable. My dad uses one of these all the time to look stuff up and watch videos on YouTube. The display could be better, but you could always get the HD version if you’re worried about that.

    Love my fire! I have bought a few of these for myself, for gifts, for students, for my kids, and they never disappoint. Very versatile and affordable. If my kid breaks it I don’t need to take a loan out to replace it. Just buy a case for it and they last a long while!

    I bought a waterproof Kendal reader which is not waterproof. If you own one be careful near water. When dunked in water they seem to improve once dry but in my case an month later it keeps locking up. Now it’s toast. So once again Im researching these devices. Possible the price is cheap enough they are throw away and play devices. Just irritating they don’t honor what now seems to be deceptive advertising.

    Amazon Fire 7 Tablet is a good initial investment into the realm of Tablets that won’t break the bank. Purchased 2 of these for my kids for school while traveling and works well. Would be better if it had more options for programs but overall works well. Definitely good for youth to have.
