Great replacement for my 15″. Actually it is lighter. I just use it as a backup at home so since I do not need it outside the home a 17″ works for me. Great deal for the sale price but I would not have paid any more .

A good quality Acer chromebook,with an impressive 17.3 inch screen. I like as large a screen as possible,and this Acer fits the bill. Also,like the 8gb instead of the normal 4gb. for that extra bit of power. Virus protection built into chromebooks is always a special feature,and the special sale price of $300.00 saving $200.00 was a great bonus. Glad I bought this Acer from Best Buy.

The only problem encountered is that the maximum volume is too soft. It is difficult to hear shows. Otherwise the device is attractive. It’s 17.3 screen is a great size. The resolution is clear.
Ido not know why it doesn’t have adequate volum. Settings set for max but that is lacking.

This is my second Acer Chromebook: I am very pleased with the performance and display. The Chromebook software/hardware combination does everything I need and more. I am very happy to not have to fool around with software patches and hardware drivers. Chromebook takes care of all that and just lets me focus on using it for my interests. Tons of FREE software is available and it installs effortlessly. I couldn’t be happier with my Acer Chromebook.

I do not like it, It’s slow. The internet drops constantly. I have it in the exact same spot as my previous laptop which did not drop internet or whatever and was quicker. It’s sluggish and glitchy. The screen is glitchy as well. Best way I can describe it. And slow to respond. Im only on the website to start a return, but I missed the return window, so I ended up leaving this review.

I’m a .Net developer and die hard Windows user but I bought this for normal web use and I seriously love this. Huge hdmi screen, Pentium and num pad? Heavenly! Seriously, it’s lightning fast and a great picture. Only downside is that maybe the speakers are a bit too quiet. I keep it at 100% sound and some videos are so low they cannot be heard.

I purchased this Acer 317 Chromebook on a pre Black Friday sale! At $259.00 this was an excellent deal! The Pentium Silver N6000 processor coupled with 8 GB of RAM is a very capable device! The 17.3″ FHD screen looks great while streaming movies, television sitcoms or gaming! The full size backlit keyboard is also a plus and was great to type with! The key travel was not bad and it was comfortable to use! I was really impressed that I was able to install Steam on this Chromebook and run Half Life 2, Civilization VI and Metro Last Light Complete Edition as well as some of my favorite Android games! Everything ran fine and looked great once I installed the chromeOS updates, enabled some flags and tweaked my display settings! I do have a more powerful Acer Spin Chrombook as well! But since this one was on sale for such a good price purchased it for the larger screen to use on my desk while working! The speakers were not not superb but they were far from being inferior! The movies that I have streamed had great sound quality and my music library sounded great as well! The higher bit rate mp3’s do make a difference in the sound quality and sounded great on this Chromebook! I was able to use the built in Google suite of productivity applications, my Microsoft Office 365 subscription and Libre Office for Linux! These all ran as expected with no issues! I am really impressed with this Acer 317 Chromebook! The only thing I will say is that it is a solid device and does have some heftiness to it despite being all plastic! This may hinder the portability of this device for some! But I use it on my desk with a wireless mouse so that extra weight does not bother me! I definitely recommend this Chromebook if you are looking for a larger screen than the traditional Chromebooks on the market! This is a very capable device depending on how you intend to use it! As with any purchase offers this nature, you want to tailor your purchase to your budget and use case! No need to spend more on a device if a less expensive capable device will handle your desired tasks! But by all means if you desire or need a more powerful device there are also many other options available!

Needed to update the Chromebook I use in my kitchen and love the large screen and backlit keyboard that was available here. Machine runs fast on Pentium Sliver, no lag, and also works nice streaming TV when I want to watch multiple games between my main TV and Chromebook. It’s a little large to be portable so see specs, but is great fit for my application.

Had an Acer chromebook (15.6″) for years. Never let me down, but Google ended software uodate support months ago Perfectly good chromebook, but without updates, it got slower and slower.
This one is speedy, screen is bright and crisp, numeric keyboard is super!
Excellent price on sale.
Word of warning: Had an aftermarket metal fitbit watchband with magnetic closure. Every time I rested my wrist to type, the magnet would reset the chromebook. Cloth watchband with velcro and no more unintended reboots!.

I searched for all the specs this laptop has for over two years, always keeping this one in mind but hoping it would come down in price. It did before but I only could afford it at the time of this purchase. I just love it!
The image resolution is perfect, seems no different to me than my Lenovo 4k desktop, really. Flawless.
The backlit keyboard is phenomenal and one of the main reasons I wanted it, too. I am over the moon happy it works so well for my eyes.
The touchscreen is perfect and even works with my active pen, although a bit draggy. It is made for a capacitive pen and mine works perfectly on the screen.
Fast? Oh, yes, indeed! Lightning fast!
Sound? Well I never have anything nice to say about computer speakers and use attached ones or headphones but this one is not as tinny as the others I have had.
Setupo was, well, instant! It was ridiculously easy to set up and any settings changes are as well. I wanted a Chromebook and am 100% pleased with this one.
This was to replace a 2013 Toshiba Satellite laptop, 17″ screen, also. Do I miss my Toshiba and Windows laptop?
Nope! Not one bit!
Chromebooks are now my favorite and this one is the best laptop I have ever had, save for space… but the cloud is my space now anyway, so it works out great.
