Good for a small air conditioner doesn’t cool really strong but it’s still good. Enough for me.
casey –
Easy to assemble, have not had to drain after using it for 2-3 weeks. Just the bottom drain button is to low, but it cools the room and has different fan speeds.. To just use the fan, you have to disconnect the hose, but it beats a window air contioner.

Did not want to install a window unit. Works well. A little bit noisy.

The price fits the machine’s value. It’s good for a small room and is fairly quiet. Assembly should have been easier if the ends of the exhaust tube could be screwed on. I had to tape them.

I use this portable air conditioner for the room that is close about 450 sq ft and it is able to cool the room from 90 F to 78 F in two hours.
I have to use the high fan setting and it produces loud noise. After two hours, I change the fan setting to low and the noise level is ok.
I consider this unit an excellent air conditioner since it is able to cool the medium room temperature down. I was going to buy a bigger unit with 12,000 BTU, but that thing will be too heavy to lift up to the second floor so this smaller unit is not heavy to lift up or move around.
For me, it was not very easy to set up the air duct (took about 30 minutes), but once I figured out the right postion and set it up, it is good.

This was easy to install in my window — that was my biggest concern, I did not want to have to do any real handy man work to get this installed — the supplied kit was easy to use and get in place in my window — I have this in my sons room as despite central air – during some days the sun beats on his room and makes it much hotter than other areas of the house, running this AC unit when the temp gets to high cools the room off quickly, as well as some of the rest of the upstairs, in a matter of minutes – and keeps my central air from running non stop freezing the rest of the house trying to keep his room cool. Would buy again!

Works very well. Minor problem – the weight of the exhaust hose weighed on the window panel, so I just supported it.
KismetKT –
It doesn’t blow in all directions, it would be better with directional venting, but it gets cold quicker, and I love the timer functionality.
Frustrated –
If you buy this product, before you waste your time setting it up (connecting the hose and window piece) my advice to you is to take it out of the package and turn it on to make sure that it works. Mine didn’t. When I first turned it on, the machine shook violently and made a weird noise. The machine ran for approximately 1 minute and turned itself off. That’s all it ever does. Don’t waste your time, but a different product.

Purchased for a 16’x16′ office room. Prompt shipping (UPS shipped from Cerritos, CA) and received in two days!
Set-up time was only about five minutes. Vertical window install was a breeze, the foam included is not nearly as long as length of the window kit provided. Despite the imperfect seal, still able to reduce the room temperature from 90F to 78F in about an hour. Good volume of hot air put out via exhaust. Efficient unit otherwise – have a similar 8000 btu unit in the living room – this does a better job in a smaller space.
Cons: puts out a lot of water via the drain plug. Probably drained 500cc in the first hour alone. Exhaust hose expects you to screw in both sides simultaneously. The usual issues with a portable AC unit.

I needed an air conditioner in my utility room, but the window was too narrow for a regular AC. I read reviews on vertical ACs and this one seem to get the best reviews. I was hesitant to buy a brand I had never heard of, but have really been pleased with this unit. It does a great job.
stantheman –
Not as advettised. Hose was barely 4 feet long and due yo the set-up of my room couldn’t reach the window. Waste of time due to falsely claiming hose was 6 feet long
ACDLEON –
This unit does the job well. Don’t expect it to cool the entire house (my first floor is about 1600 sq. ft.) but it does a fine job in a room where the sun beats down in the summer months. Room is about 350 sq. ft. and cool air trickles down a bit more beyond that. Extra features are a plus (timer, remote, cool, fan only, temp, etc.) Only con is that you still have to have a place for the water to drain. Either get a bucket that you have to empty out or have it drain elsewhere. Other than that unit is great!
Javi –
Overall great for small rooms. If you looking for bigger rooms this ain’t for you
Morbo –
Cools a small to medium-ish sized room well. Just don’t expect it to it to be able to cool a large room though. The remote is real handy. The window vent accessories are good quality (i.e. plastic is not flimsy). Very happy with my purchase.

So I began working out of my house two years ago. As I knew I was going to work only in one room for 10 hours a day, I thought it best to buy this to cool my room down as opposed to my entire house.
The set up is easy, except for the drainage that took me a few minutes to figure out what to do. Instead of connecting a large hose to the outside, I connected the included hose and had it drip into a paint bucket that I bought from Home Depot and I just emptied it every two or three days. (Bonus, now I can water my plants outside for free!)
For people concerned with noise, I basically take phone calls all day and I have yet to get one complaint or comment about the noise it makes. It may sound loud in the room but that’s mostly because it’s probably going to room that’s usually quiet, like my office. My best analogy is it sounds like a large fan, which it certainly does have.
I’ve had it for two years and it is still working. I still have time left over on my Geek Squad protection plan but with the way it runs it doesn’t look like I’ll need it anytime soon.
MIchaelPhotos –
Easy to install and seems to work well for the space we intended at the church office. Will still need to determine how effective the condensation container works to shut off the unit when full.
Rony –
Works well for me. Pretty much covers my enormous bedroom.
Niel –
This is great for portable ac unit to use it in my bonus room so I don’t have to open upstairs central ac and it saves money
Jackie –
This is a perfect item would recommend to another person
TINA –
EXCELLENT, IT WORK GREAT, I’M VERY SATISFIED FOR THIS PORTABLE AIR CON. KEEP PRODUCING THIS KIND OF AC.
Djthony5 –
I’m very happy with my air conditioner is very special for small room I would recommend for everyone
Mick –
Very happy with my portable AC. It has extra parts that I need to run it inside the house.
ComputerGuy47 –
I was using this to cool a medium sized bedroom and honestly is kind of struggled. I thought 800 BTU would be more than enough but it only cooled about half the room and I would have to turn it at a weird angle because the air came out on one side only instead of straight forward. It is also loud.
smallbizguy –
it’s winter here, so I have not fully experienced what this can do, but if it is like the other unit i bought, this was a great value
BoomsJacket –
I love it. It is simple to use as there are fewer bells and whistles than others units. I have used it daily in florida for 2 months without a hiccup. Got it on sale, wish i would have bought 2. Only. con is lack of color options.
leenda –
It keeps my room chilled at a comfortable 68 degrees. Great for a small room. Not sure if its strong enough to cool a large area though.
Ashmo75cos –
Cools down my small bedroom quicker than I expected. Is a little loud & have to turn up TV. Don’t like the fact that the “blades” do not adjust side to side, only up & down – so I have to completely turn the AC in the direction I want the air to go. Hose is 4′, but not too long, so needed to rearrange my bedroom furniture. However, keeps me cool at night (I work during the day). I leave it off while I am at work & turn it on when I get home. Takes like 1 hr to cool down the room.
sissy –
The unit does cool the room but the exhaust hose does not fit properly into the unit, I have to use duct tape to secure the hose which I constantly have
to change.
disastermary –
This was simple to set up and begin using. It was quick to take the hot edge off our upstairs bedroom, which gets hot during warmer days in NC. When we use central air, the downstairs is icy while upstairs is still stuffy. Hopefully this unit will help us cool the upstairs without having an arctic first floor.
cdheck –
I was under the guise that this unit did not need a tube to go out the window as I read “self-evaporating” and thought that meant that it did not need to release fluid elsewhere. I was wrong. It is needed for a room that only has a 12 inch octagon window that is 5′ from the ground. So it was meant to be perfect for this room. Luckily my husband is handy, but so far I am very irate (as I just found out it does in fact need to have a tube that goes out the window). Now I will have water dripping down the entire front of my house with a hand made window seal that I didn’t want just to satisfy the need for a portable unit.
Jason –
There’s only one hose that is the exhaust. So ur blowing out the cold air in ur room.
Cutie –
I purchased the AC unit for my bedroom. The unit itself was a great size for my bedroom but it was a little loud and it really didn’t cool the room as I expected it to.
Gman911 –
Great air conditioner…Quick easy transaction! Thanks Best Buy!
DANBOONSKI –
Easy to use , program & move around on its wheels . It will take more than 2 gallons of water out of air every day . You must empty bucket about every 8 hours .
Excalibur1 –
While it says that it is 8000 BTU, it doesn’t actually feel like it is. I don’t know if it’s the way I have it set up, but it doesn’t feel like it’s throwing a lot of air. For now I gave it to my parents and they seem to like it enough.
anastasia –
this is a great portable. the only thing i had trouble with is hooking up the hose. it work great.
IGarcia –
Does not cool down the room significantly. A window AC unit works way better. This is 1 hose unit. Should have tried one with 2 hoses.
Jayw –
Body is not well made and parts have broken off. Sufficiently cold, not super cold.
hooey –
I purchased this Air Conditioner 4 years ago and I use it every summer during the very hot months. If used in a smaller room it works very well and quickly, to cool down the room. I use it in a small bedroom but I do not think it would be very efficient in a larger room like a living room. But overall, for the convenience and size and efficiency, this is a good product that will “save” you during the hot weather.
