Very satisfied with my new Whirlpool washer. Really like the push button ease of use operation. See through smoked color lid is a plus and large capacity drum for bulky loads of wash. Pros: the capacity is amazing. My parents have this exact washer, but they have the bigger 5.5 load with an impeller. This 4.7 size is better for me because with my parent’s machine, I had to lean on the machine and reach way down to get the clothes out and I don’t like outrun gym stomach on top of the machine to balance myself. My parents use tongs to get the clothes out of their 5.5 load, so this 4.7 model I have no issue getting my clothes out and washing my king size comforter with ease. I also REALLY ENJOY the clear lid so I can see what’s happening during the wash cycle. The tub is a nice shiny metal which looks really good. I’m coming from an Amana washer, which I enjoyed, that I’ve had since 2013 but all the pros I mentioned above are advantages the Amana didn’t have.
Cons:
1. not a fan of everything being so technological with touch functions and sensors. The more technology a machine has, the more likely you are to face repairs.
2. The agitator appears too small for the tub size. Watching the agitator work, the clothes just sort of slowly circulate around the tub without being pushed from the top to the bottom. Whirlpool, if they care about their customers, really need to get back to the drawing board and develop a more effective agitator for this machine that actually pushes the clothes around and up and down the machine.
3. “High Effecieny” it was a learning curve for me to work around the low water functions, but I found out if I turned the machine on certain touch pad functions, I could adjust the water level to max fill or high fill by touching the Deep Water or Deep Fill button at the bottom when I have selected the type of wash I wanted. Reading reviews, it appears the older crowd, no offense, is having a hard time changing the water level and their clothes end up dry. I hope they are reading my review and they start to play with the functions of Deep Fill so their clothes will actually be submerged. I know this is a dumb government regulation that is in effect, but the touch keys are too hard for some of the older people to understand which is why they think they can’t submerge the clothes. Make a more simple
Machine with a larger capacity.
4. This machine is in fact WAY TOO LOUD.

Time will tell. Lot’s of washing options with large capacity. Seems well built. It however does take longer to wash clothes. I didn’t want an all digital model and i also had no need for hooking it up via Wi-Fi. So far it cleans well and is very quiet.

The absolute best washer I have ever had. It took me a while to move on to a smart washer because i prefer the top load washers. I decided to get a Whirlpool after a horrible experience with a new GE washer that was a total lemon. I knew I wouldn’t go wrong with Whirlpool, and this washer is worth it, the design is top of the line for quality and functionality.

The Whirlpool Top Load Washer replaced our Maytag Machine after only 5 years. The Maytag continuously needed service to function. We finally decided to replace it and found the Whirlpool which I really am thankful for. It is wonderful, not noisy, does an excellent job. I like all the selections available. It worked great for a year, and then right when the warrant expires- It caught on fire!! The WASHING MACHINE CAUGHT ON FIRE!! The Washing machine wasn’t even 5 years old yet, and with light usage, it just blew up on me during a small washing cycle!! I Haven’t even finished paying the thing off yet, and I’m left with this dangerous hunk of metal!! Don’t trust Whirlpool at all!!

We purchased this washer for the deep water feature. The pretreat station is a bonus. I can’t say it cleans better than the Whirlpool washer we had for 25+ years. The way the small agitator works seems to keep clothes in the same place through the whole washing cycle. So we have some doubts that the bulky items or clothes on top truly get cleaned. I don’t understand why some reviews are saying the machine is quiet. It is not. The agitator rotates clockwise for 1 second and then counterclockwise for another second. I suspect the unique sound is from some sort of mechanical braking. The sound is not continuous. It is quite loud and disturbing. I don’t think there are many alternatives that would actually wash well with enough water. This washer is already a huge improvement over the 1-year old Maytag front load washer that came with our new home. So we will learn to like it more.

DO NOT BUY !This machine does not work at all. It will not let you do small loads or medium loads and even worse heavy loads. I am currently in the process of repairing my machine for the SIXTH time. Whirlpool refuses to replace it. When it decides to wash it will throw load of balance and go from 1hr 1/2 to wash to 2 HRS! It makes loud screeching metal noises. It will work in between repairs maybe 2-3 times. Then the problems vary from not spinning, not draining, going off balance for everything, not sensing and then the famous F7E1 error code. With the money you will spend going to the laundromat you minus well buy a more reliable machine like Speed Queen. You will save ALOT of time and headaches. This has been happening since May! We are already mid August! Don’t buy anything Whirlpool related!

I am glad I bought the 5 year service plan because I’ve had the geek squad out several times in the first two years. New transmission, new belt, other parts replaced that I don’t remember. I bought the matching dryer and it already needs a new motor. I purchased new machines but they give me just as much problem as my old machines. I’m very disappointed in the cheap quality of these Whirlpool products, I thought I was buying quality products but I was wrong.

Loads easily become unbalanced, creating lots of rocking and a terrible racket. Moving between cycles also causes loud noise. Spinning is also terribly noisy. We have to replace after only a year because it is so disruptive — too noisy when we’re home and too poorly balanced to use when we are away.
