I am not convinced that the stainless steel coated plastic trim kits (2) are a fair substitute for the former all metal versions they replaced.
No other models were available at Best Buy that fit the 2 wall mounted KitchenAid 2.0 cu/ft microwaves

Trim kit is ok but the quality is not very good. The kit is definitely made of plastic and doesn’t feel very durable. However if your looking for some thing that looks nice and reasonably priced this will work.

Very well constructed and fairly easy to install. Depending on the cabinet that the microwave is going in, you may need to cut out notches for the brackets..

It looks nice but I am having issues with the microwave door rubbing on the frame as it opens. Maybe its is due to the cabinet width being too narrow, but the oven appears centered in the frame. One thing is for sure, if you are replacing an existing builtin that used the previous standard 24 inch opening this oven and frame will not fit. You will need to rout the opening to at least 25 inches to make it work, and maybe more since I am having this door issue at 25 inches.

Purchased the trim unit to go with my new microwave. Best thing about it, it’s fingerprint resistant. Clean unit, easy to install. A bit on the expensive side but certainly needed for a clean, uniform look.

It actually looks ok, definitely nothing fancy…it’s plastic. However, it was dented. Out of the 5 appliances that were being delivered, 2 were dented and had to be taken back.

The installer arrived on time and quickly began the microwave installation process. The installer wore a mask and explained the installation process. My husband and myself began looking for a built in oven and microwave. Locating the proper items and appropriate sizes proved challenging over a 5 month period. Happily the microwave and oven installations are complete. The installerwas friendly and efficient.

Bought a new microwave to replace an older model and the trim kit of the older model didn’t fit the cabinet properly. Glad it didn’t because this new trim kit is so much nicer! Matches the brushed stainless steel of the microwave and was simple to install. Cleans easily and looks great! Would recommend to others.

Trim kit looks good and was easy to install. The only drawback has to do with the mounting holes for the bottom part of the trim kit. Depending on conditions it might be hard to install the two screws. Our microwave is directly above our oven, which had been installed a few weeks prior the microwave. With only about a 1/2″ gap between the trim kit and the top of the oven there is no way to install the screws without possibly doing damage to the top of the oven. The screws are angled up at a 45 and getting them in is about impossible. Luckily, the trim kit sort of snaps in place and the top screws were easily installed. So far it hasn’t popped out on the bottom.

There was nothing wrong with the trim kit, but it didn’t fit our microwave. That surprised me since I provided the microwave model number, presuming the correct trim kit options would result.

The trim color doesn’t mach whirlpool 30”wall oven at all. I wished I went with another trim but i was thinking if i buy the same company products also they one that they did recommended,it should mach better. Since the microwave and trim and the wall oven all whirlpool. But none of them mach each other’s it looks very bad now.
