The outside trim frame is plastic and requires screws to be at 45 degree angles. These were made better 10 years ago. I just used my old trim frame that was metal and it worked fine. I’ll through the plastic frame away lol

There are very few options when trying to get a trim to match your new stainless steel microwave. The good is that this is essentially universal, will match anything that fits inside albeit realize that there will be gaps if its not exact. It looks good but feels cheap, it is not actually made of stainless steel, just the appearance of such. If noody closely inspects, you cant tell but if you do touch and inspect, it clearly isnt the real thing. So its faux but does the job. I wish there were better options but nope, and for what it costs, it is robbery but again it looks and does the job.

I was replacing an existing under counter microwave. Easy to follow instructions. The actual trim piece was plastic so I used the trim piece from my old microwave which was real metal. Trim piece in this kit was a cheap piece of plastic. I did need to use the feet in the trim kit but otherwise it was junk

I already had an existing cut out for this. we had the Best Buy home consultant come out and recommend this one to us. Fits like a glove and matches our oven cover.

So our old KitchenAid microwave died after 12 years and we had to buy a new one. Of course, the trim kit from the previous one did not work, and this was the trim kit that was to go with the new microwave. So the upside is that yes, it fits perfectly around the microwave, however, it is not adjustable on how it fits into whatever space you have. The top and bottom frame is about 3″ and we had less than that on the top if we put it on the frame they give you. We only used the front piece (and had to saw off some plastic pieces), and had to jerry rig the rest of it. If we would have had another option of a trim kit we would have taken it, but this is it.

At local Best Buy, I was looking to replace out of function KitchenAid microwave oven #KCMS145JSS and trim kit and decided a technician needed to come to measure the size of my cabinet cutout to make sure trim fit nicely, so he did and I ordered Whirlpool microwave oven #WMC30516HZ and trim kit #MK2167AZ, by the time the install technician came to set up he found the sides of trim are too wide (3”), and my limited sides have 2” margin, and he suggested me to return the kit, which I did. Following few days I used the file to trim down the edges of old frame to smooth out humped lips (both upper and lower) and rehung the frame and it works out. So the individual cabinet cutout size will determine the fitness of trim, it is nice and fingerprint resistant stainless steel trim kit.

Kit went together very smoothly. I spent most of the time trying to get it all level and square in my existing cabinet hole. I do wish the trim was all metal so it would sit more flush with cabinet.

Arrived as a resealed open box even though I purchased it new. It was missing all the screws when my installer opened the box. He had to go out and buy them which cost me more for the install. Very disappointed to not get what I paid for! I was in a bind since the installer was here, so had to use what I was sent.

I am very happy with my purchase. It is plastic with a stainless steel coatings on the outside, but I knew that before I bought it. I did the installation myself and it went very smooth.
Works –
This trim kit truly requires the microwave cut out whole/space to be an exact size. Your cut out must be 17 inches in height, really no less than that and probably no higher. There’s a little more leeway with the width.

It’s plastic and not stainless steel! The color does not match my other stainless steel appliances. It’s horrible!

For our application this looks great. It was easy to install. It is made of plastic, wish it wasn’t, but for the application it works well with the corresponding microwave.
