very happy with the product itself. the fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish is very nice and it does resist handprints and smudges. be aware that the stainless steel are on the doors (front) and door edges only, the sides of the fridge are the typical vinylized grey / charcoal colored coated steel (which did scratch easily upon delivery). the fridge is much quieter than our 18 year old GE that we rid ourselves of. don’t understand some of the previous comments about this fridge making ‘grunts, groans, and bangs’…perhaps it was the ice cubes dropping into the ice maker bucket? this fridge also does not seem to have to run as often as our old unit, we like the roomy interior with the LED light. the only thing still getting used to is the temp control panel: it is mounted on the inside upper ceiling of the fridge portion, right in the middle and to the front. therefore, when you swing a gallon of milk in to the fridge, you have to get used to swinging it to the left or right of the control panel. we keep accidentally hitting it, but it seems sturdy and has held up so far. ONE Complaint – Best Buy delivered it (likely contracted out, since they came in a HUB Rental truck) and the guys were not very careful during the delivery. I told them several times the front door to our home should be taken off the hinges first, since the door knob would be in the way. Delivery ignored me, could not get it past the door knob, tried lifting the fridge over it, and ended up banging into my banister and coat hooks. This apparently scratched the side of the fridge (we noticed the scratches after they left). They also scratched our hardwood floor pretty good at the top of our landing when they set the fridge down, and then turned it (huge swirl marks). I did see this when it occurred and pointed it out to them. They did it again when entering the kitchen. Refused to hook it up to the water line since Best Buy / Whirlpool will only allow hook ups to copper ice maker lines (mine was an existing poly line). So I did it myself easily. TO BE FAIR – Best Buy took our delivery complaint very seriously and is having a new fridge delivered in a few weeks at no cost to us. They also adjusted the price when we found same model slightly cheaper at a local competitor. I will be sure to remove the front door to our home MYSELF and my wife will be sure to inspect for any scratches prior to the redelivery. VERY HAPPY WITH THE FRIDGE and the way Best Buy is handling our concerns so far.

I am returning the refrigerator because of smears and smudges that won’t go away. However Best Buy did no give me any problems and gave me another refrigerator. They wanted me to be happy with my product.

This replaced the side-by-side that we originally purchased. The S-by-S door is not open up enough to gain access to the frig side. This we due to being located in a corner of our kitchen. This top-mount frig was a replacement which was like our original frig. This work out much better. In fact is seem to actually have more space into that the SbyS.

Not fancy, but very practical refrigerator. Unlike side by side refrigerators, which have too many small areas, this refrigerator is designed to have large open spaces. So, bulky items, like a turkey, fit with no problems. And it’s also easy to spot where things are.
It does not have a light in the freezer, and that’s a drawback.
Also, mine was supposed to have an automatic icemaker built in, but the part (also used by Jenn Air and Amana) is out of production at the moment because of shut down of the factory due to Covid-19. I have been promised the part when it is available.

This whirlpool was as described and it fit perfectly in space I had. I had used BestBuys free installation service and it was smooth and easy. I also got the handle switched.

The freezer is ice and frost and as of yesterday the refrigerator is warm. On the bottom of the refrigerator the gasket in not flush for about a foot.I would give this no stars if I could.

After owning a Frigidaire refrigerator for almost 20 years, we needed to purchase another. We decided on this Whirlpool model due to the similar capacity, the misleading high star ratings of this model, the perceived value of the sale price and, what we thought, was a reputable brand. Almost immediately, we were very disappointed overall and had Buyer’s remorse with our investment. First, the lack of the adjustability options of the shelving in all compartments left a lot to be desired compared to our old model. Second, although this maybe a minor complaint, there is no light in the freezer. Lastly, the most important negative factor is that there was an annoying, intolerable loud vibrating buzzing noise from this refrigerator that seemed to be running much more than what we were used to. We gave this a couple of weeks to see if maybe the refrigerator compressor had to break in or even if we could get live with noise. After two weeks of what we referred to as mental torture, we decided that dealing with noise was unacceptable. I called Whirlpool and they sent out an “independent” dealer repair service company who told us that this is “normal”? with today’s models and the compressors that are installed. We were at our wits end with this explanation. Thank goodness, we contacted Best Buy and we were advised that, being Totaltech Members, we were eligible for 60 day satisfaction guaranteed protection. We are now in the process of exchanging this Whirlpool model for a Frigidaire refrigerator with the hope that the brand that was so reliable before will still give us much satisfaction going forward. Lesson learned here was to notice the number of Poor ratings and how many consumers referred to same issue related to the issues that we have experienced.

Purchased this unit for a rental. When Tenant moved out I realized that the part to hold the small movable drawer was never installed so it won’t slide into anything. Also the small drawer on right doesn’t seem to fit correctly in the sliders so you have to pull hard to get it in and out. Would love Best Buy to reach out to me.

I am writing this review to express my absolute dismay and frustration with Whirlpool appliances, especially their refrigerators. Since purchasing a Whirlpool refrigerator in December 2018, my wife and I have been plagued with an endless series of problems, culminating in a shocking incident that nearly poisoned us.
From the outset, our Whirlpool refrigerator seemed to have a mind of its own. It began with small issues like inconsistent temperature control and an obnoxious buzzing sound. We brushed these off initially, thinking they were just minor quirks that could be resolved. Oh, how wrong we were.
Recently, our refrigerator suddenly stopped working altogether, leaving us in a state of panic. The food inside turned bad, emitting a putrid odor that filled our kitchen. To our horror, we discovered that some of the food had become contaminated, posing a serious health risk to both my wife and me. The sheer negligence displayed by Whirlpool in creating a product that endangers the health of its users is simply unforgivable.
Hoping to find a swift resolution, we promptly contacted Whirlpool’s customer service. However, their response was nothing short of abysmal. Despite detailing the urgency and severity of the situation, they displayed a shocking lack of concern. The representative we spoke to seemed disinterested, offering nothing more than vague apologies and empty promises of “looking into the matter.” Their lack of urgency and unwillingness to take immediate action left us feeling utterly helpless.
To make matters worse, after waiting for what felt like an eternity, it became apparent that Whirlpool was not going to rectify the situation. It became painfully clear that we had no choice but to discard the refrigerator entirely, rendering it nothing more than a costly, oversized paperweight. The financial burden of replacing such a critical appliance is a burden that we should not have had to bear.
This nightmarish experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I can confidently say that I will never purchase another Whirlpool appliance again. The poor quality, abysmal customer service, and utter disregard for our well-being have shattered any remaining faith I had in this brand. Whirlpool, once a reputable name in the industry, has now become synonymous with disappointment and regret.
In conclusion, if you value your money, your time, and your health, I implore you to stay far away from Whirlpool appliances, particularly their refrigerators. Save yourself the anguish, frustration, and potential health risks that my wife and I have endured. Trust me when I say that there are countless other brands out there that offer superior products and customer service, ones that won’t leave you with a toxic mess and an empty wallet.

I got it about a month ago and it’s good so far. They did take over 6 months to delivery it. It was a nightmare. The stainless steel color does look slightly different then my stove that is also stainless steal.

Great fridge definitely worth the wait and the size is perfect. I just noticed some leafy veggies get frozen but other than that it’s great. I did adjust the settings so we will see.
My last fridge was a whirlpool so yes the brand is long lasting. I hope this will last me 10 years.
