    I relied on consumer reports when buying this whirlpool microwave. I don’t like it. It doesn’t have a stop cancel button which is really inconvenient and bad engineering. When reheating I find plates are so hot they’ll burn your hands. That’s happened to me several times and I’ve never had that happen in any other microwave. The sensor cooking I wouldn’t do it. But it works fine as a manual microwave.

    Easy to self install but measure using template first and have drill bits. Last exact one has to be replCed after about 5-7yrs.

    Very satisfied with this product. Just need to learn how to pause cooking so I can check food or stir it, and then continue the cooking process if more time is needed. There is only a start and cancel and if the door is opened remaining amount of time is canceled.

    Replaced a nearly 20 yr old unit – 1200 Watt. I don’t think that one was functioning at 1200 W though, as this unit definitely has more power.

    Only obvious issue is that for defrost it was fairly aggressive, cooking some once frozen chicken on the edges instead of thawing it. If I hadn’t been watching it, I don’t know what I would have ended up with after the posted 4 min that were left.

    Fan works great and is not too loud even on the highest setting.

    The High – Light could be brighter.

    Surface seems pretty fingerproof. Unit has stayed pretty clean with quite a bit of use.

    One thing I am not a fan of is the blue LEDs. The clock is hard to read from a distance, unlike the old green ones.

    Beat product for the price.if uou had whirlpool MW before you can use the same anchors to installed. It took me 15 minutes with additinal help.

    The only thing i don’t like about this microwave is with newer microwave You can normally push the numbers 1-6 and it cook for 1min for the number one and so on. It is not as simple as most. You have to push cook time then 2:00 then the –> symble.

    I hate to leave bad reviews and I don’t know if we got a lemon but we bought this Whirlpool microwave in 2019 and replaced magnetron in 2021 ($300) and it stopped heating again in 2023. The worst appliance we’ve bought in 35 years. BUT…
    Our recommendation is to buy a GE! We absolutely love BestBuy and still recommend you get all your appliances here and definitely buy the extended warranty. It’s worth it for sure!!

    Took forever to get anyone to come to appliance section of store to help me. Went to front desk requesting help 3 times before someone from another department came to help but they couldn’t answer any questions. I just bought it and it has worked out.

    The Whirlpool 2.1 Cu Ft Over the Range microwave is a very nice microwave. My family has been using it for 2 months now.

    It has a rack for cooking two large dishes as long as they are not very tall. It also has steam cooking that allows for automatically cooking items via steam.
    The sensor cooking is great and the menus offer a lot of options to make it easier to cook things correctly.

    The microwave looks good and fits in very well with our 13 yr. old Whirlpool Gold appliances.

    The easy clean finish is very easy to clean and nicer than the scrubbing needed for our previous microwave.

    Installation was not the easiest, because it was a little taller (1/2″) than our 13 yr old Whirlpool Gold microwave, so we had to drill through some tile backsplash in order to bolt in the lower bracket. The lower bracket was a single straight piece of metal, where the old one was a U shape that surrounded the entire bottom and sides of the old microwave allowing us to bolt it to the wall leaving the tile alone.

    Overall, I would buy it again. I would also recommend it to others looking for this style.

    Sometimes when we have power loss, the main LCD screen turns off and doesn’t come back on for a while… then all of a sudden it comes back on. Everything still works, you can still microwave and input things on the touchpad… just the LCD display is out until it decides to come back on. Other than that, which only happens periodically, it’s been a great microwave so far.

    This is a great microwave, I find it works much better than my last KitchenAid microwave, and is very easy to clean.

    The low settings on the vent fan are too low, and the high and medium high settings make too much noise. Wish that when using the timer setting and I press add 30 seconds, it would add this to the timer instead of starting the cook setting. Also wish it had express cook settings like our old GE microwave, where if we pressed 1-5, it would start immediately begin cooking for that number of minutes. It has good power and heats well and evenly for a microwave.

    Overall an outstanding microwave. Powerful, full featured (but not confusing). The only cons are lack of back-lit display and automatic vent fan that won’t shut-off if it detects too much heat from the oven below.

    Purchased this microwave open box, good condition, when in fact it was fair condition as it had significant cosmetic damage and was missing essential parts. No mounting bracket, no rack, no instructions and a broken bulb. tried to call the store and was redirected to South America! OfCourse they were unable to help me. you cannot trust this company! won’t be shopping there again!
