The reason for a three is more due to the service from Best Buy. It took a Better Business Bureau complaint before we got enough “traction” to have the problem resolved. We did have two service calls to repair the door and “choke”. The main problem was the trim kit Viking recommended – one without any venting. Without venting the heat was building up causing damage to the unit. We finally ended up going to a local company and had the existing trim kit “water jetted” to create vents. Best Buy paid for the work but from start to finish, it took almost two years to get it fixed.

The viking microwave is a good microwave. It’s supposed to be built in to my cabinets, but unfortunately it sticks out a little. I should have double checked the measurements. Double check the measurements of your appliances before building your cabinets!

I never got it. Best Buy canceled my delivery right when my kitchen reno was almost completed and couldn’t tell me why or when I could get the oven. Ended up canceling the order and buying from a different store.

Excellent microwave and what is new to us is the convection oven……very cool and easy to operate. This unit was a replacement of a 20yo Viking …..not much has changed. Just wisk the control panel would light up.
