  1. Backlash1888

I’ve been buying Turtle Beach wireless headsets since the X4 model for Xbox 360. I enjoy FPS games and usually only use my headsets for that in multiplayer modes. When I first saw the 800X, the new/retail price didn’t scare me off at $300. I waited since I’ve been using the Stealth 500X since early 2015 for my Xbox one. The features and setup of the Elite 800X are really sleek. Out of the box, the headset and base were pristine and all of the cables were in new condition. Ease of setup was just plug and play, I didn’t have to pair the headset. The audio presets are preprogrammed on one button. The 500X had high and low settings. The noise cancellation works pretty well but definitely not “top notch”. Sound is good and the mic seems to work well as the party doesn’t seem to complain about being too high or low or static. From headset to headset, Turtle Beach just fits to my liking. I’ve tried other brands and just can’t seem to leave the Turtle Beach brand. I’ve compared the 500X to the 800X with the following games on a GoW4 – 2TB S console; Gears of War 4, CoD Infinite Warfare, Remastered, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and Resident Evil 7. What I didn’t like about the 800X pair are the synthetic leather ear phones and how tight the headset felt. I’d like to say I have a round – average sized head. I still use my 500X over the 800X BUT I’m on my second 500X pair as the previous pair died (battery, sound, and connection) after 18 months. Both of my 500X sets were purchased new. This is my first refurbished wireless headset, so I was a little skeptical. But at the almost 60% off, I had to try it. If this was my first headset, I’d had given it 4 stars easily. But my review of the 500X was 4 stars so I couldn’t give the 800X set a 4 star rating. Great headset though and recommended to a few friends, all of which really enjoy them.

PROS: Cost (refurb) at almost 60% less than new, button layout, ease of setup, noise cancellation, preset audio, responsiveness of buttons.

CONS: did not replace my 500X set, sound does not compare to 500X, the synthetic leather ear muffs, compression of headphones when worn.

I got a great deal on the top of the line headphones from Turtle Beach. They have all the bells and the whistles you can hear clearly. Microphone monitoring, noise cancellation, superhuman hearing, best surround sound, and programmable presets. usually expensive but with the right deal, best bang for the buck.

  3. Chizem69

No problems with this headset at all! Works just as good as a brand new one. I got an 2 year extended warranty all for $159.00.

  4. xJASON37x

I own the 800 Elite for the PS4 and absolutely love them. I wanted them for the Xbox One also but did not want to spend as much as they are new. I found them Refurbished and saved a lot of money. They are in great condition, how ever these ones seems to have some degraded sound and also cut out a lot compared to the one I bought new for the PS4. I’m not sure if its because they are refurbished or if the Xbox One versions are not as good of quality.

  5. Willalwaysshine

Best gaming headset I have ever used. It has all of the features that any gamer would love.

  6. ScottSmith30

Love these headphones. Works great with Xbox and Bluetooth devices. Enhances gameplay and love I can listen to my music through Bluetooth while playing. I also used them to listen to music through Bluetooth while mowing the yard and other chores around the house. Love the noise cancellation as well.

  7. Mozus

Controls could have been perfected a little better

  8. Dylan0000033

I love these headphones very nice sound. Price is a little high but definitely worth it.

  9. TristansDad

I love all of the features of the headset. Only drawback for me how tight the headset fits on my head

  10. sarrif

I upgraded to the elite 800x from the earforce Tangos and I can definitely say the upgrade was worth it. Sound quality is excellent being 7.1 channel and the app interface makes tweaking the headset a breeze. Needless to say I should get many years out of this headset as I got almost 6 years out of my Tangos.

  11. ProReviewer1

First the pros: great sound one of the top in the business, easy to learn and use, no stereo headset out there can match the performance of these. 7.1 surround sound makes a difference.

Cons: for me these headsets are a little tight on my head, they “clamp” down so to speak, and because of that I can’t wear them for an extended period of time, though I am trying to stretch them out and it has worked some.

Try to get them when they are under $200 if possible, I got a real great price on them

  12. Mikey

I bought these when they were on sale as my old turtle Beach ear force Delta’s needed to be retired. I wanted a headset that would allow we to use Blu tooth from my phone to play music to my headset while I could still hear the game volume and my friends talking to me. This headset did that exact thing and it also has noise cancelling which I have learned to love. My only complaint is after 4+ hours of them on head my ears start to hurt. The ear cups seem a little shallow to me and I don’t have big ears or anything but if I take them off for a little bit (less than 10 mins) and put them back on I’m good to go.

  13. Sledhead

I have a pile of headphones and these are by far my favorite. They work extremely well there are a ton of settings and you can use them basically any device. I love the multiple connection feature so I can game, play music on my phone talk to ppl online or answer my phone wil watching tv or gaming the charger work great and has a strong magnet so they stay in the charger stand. There are to many settings to list but once you figure them all out it’s awesome. For gaming you can enhance footsteps or set to racing basically any game there is a mode programmed in you can set to. You can also pick a mod for movies music more base or treble you can control your phone from the headset answering call volume pauses music etc. these headphones feel high quality and don’t hurt my ears after hours of use. I bought the refurbeshed ones I couldn’t even tell they looked brand new no sings of wear.

  14. Tobin

I bought these are refurb, the mic works horrible. After researching it further… why does TB even try to sell these anymore. Bring back the 500x.

  15. ynot

Unparalleled sound quality. Easy pairing with multiple devices

  16. plumberman

I bought these to replace my older headphones. I got these for the surround sound effects. These do not disappoint.

  17. Donnell

Loved! Is a Must have for Xbox One! In goes good for Bluetooth 4 TV too

  18. Cantsurf

Wow these things are in horrible shape scuff marks everywhere. When I extended the head phones one of the chromish parts fell off. After charging for several hours the battery lasted maybe 30 minutes. Left on charger over night battery last 40 minutes before it died. I could get it to connect to a phone via Bluetooth but could not get it to work with either my Xbox one or my Xbox one s. In wired mode the sound was so low if someone was whispering near you (even with noise isolation on) I could not hear what was going on in the game. Yes even at max volume and with the Xbox headset volume set to max.

I watch so many YouTube videos thinking I was doing something wrong. I followed every step resets etc nothing could get them to work with either Xbox.

I purchase a lot from Best Buy I’m an elite member and this certified geek squad product just astonished me. Stickers every where saying certified and quality tested????

  19. DrKill

I will say there are many out there that say turtle Beach’s quality isn’t up to snuff. I would agree in terms of price, but since I was able to get these 300 dollar headphones for 150. They are definitely worth the money.

  20. ALEXA

AFTER MUCH DELIBERATION I PULLED THE TRIGGER ON THESE AND DON’T REGRET ONE SECOND.

  21. Luna

These headphones do everything that I ask of them. Great for plane rides without the big bucks of Bose. Bluetooth for making around the house or on the go. Grab them and enjoy.

  22. Huckleberry

Best Buy was not at fault with the return on this but I had to return this item because the speaker in the right ear was cracking during games and music, I understand they may have tested it but I still love their product and services.

  23. Matt

Many of the options are great but it fails to master any of them. Sound quality is average and the headset is tight on my head. Furthermore, the pressure it has on my head hurts my ears after long periods of time. If the two week period after the purchase didn’t expire I would return them now. Took about a month to realize it wasn’t worth it.

  24. Jellyorjam

Consumers simply don’t read instructions. They take a launched product and if it doesn’t work, or automatically update the firmware, they return it for malfunctioning.

This product does not have any auto update. If you do not update the product has a lot of errors. After updating the firmware, by plugging the reciever and the headset into a computer and downloading ear force hub, I have had zero problems in 2 months and I spend around 15-20 hours a week gaming.

The battery hold charge, the quieting technology works phenomenally, and the sound is pristine. The headset simultaneously links up with my phone bluetooth while streaming media audio from my xbox so I can hear calls, texts, and prompts without delay.

Awesome product, great deal, cash in on other peoples stupidity!

  25. JonathanZ

I really like the headset, comes with tons of presets…almost to many! The noise cancellation works great and having a Bluetooth option is nice. After awhile the headset can press on your ears making them slightly uncomfortable, it may be due to the leather ear cuffs. Overall, with the charging dock, they are a great buy!

  26. Elegit

I have ever heard, these felt premium, along with a premium price tag. But ultimately I returned them because they clamped down on my head so much it would give me a headache
