I recently upgraded my WiFi to a TP-Link ARCHER AXE75 tri-band router. Rather than the third band being a second 5G band, it’s a 6E band. Like 5G compared to 2.74G, the 6E has a significantly smaller sphere of distance connectivity-wise, so there were spots in my home that my 6e capable device couldn’t connect without backing down to the 5G band. The only compatible extender TP-Link has as of right now with 6e capability is the RE815XE. Yes, it’s pricey currently, but after setting it up via an Ethernet cable for maximum speed, my entire household has excellent coverage for all three bands. I love that the extender has the option to turn off the status lights and also allows a schedule for having the lights on or off. It’s large and I have it plugged in to a short extension cable to the power strip so it doesn’t take up two or three spots. The antennae are adjustable. It shows up along with the router on the Tether app. Very easy to use. If you’re more concerned about speed and connectivity than you are about a cheap extender, just remember that in this case you definitely get what you pay for.

As advertised. I live in a remote cabin with thick log walls. I purchased the extender in order to work in the room which is furthest from the Inseego Router. Works better than I expected. Easily set up and synchs. I have had extenders from other well known manufacturers which matched the router I had and they never worked. I was desparate, so I am glad I took the chance on the TP Link.

Wish I could return it. All it does is make my WiFi network a mess. Tried resetting it, tried multiple locations, nothing works. It will connect to my router and take clients, but it makes everything unusable. Expensive, useless.

excellent product for inside home and stability for hostpost so far!!!!!

Range is EXCELLENT, but speeds are slow. I have Gigabit internet, and when connected to this OneMesh device, I barely get 100 Mbps.
It’s great if you need more range, but don’t expect any speed — despite the high price.

I have an old TP-Link RE450 I decided to upgrade for better coverage and faster speeds. My old RE had a better range than this one! I couldn’t even get it close enough for my devices to pick this range extender up. Needless to say, I was ver disappointed in this product.

Let me start by saying that this router is probably overkill for most people. I purchased it for specific reasons. My security cameras are a far distance from my house and power outlets. This is one of the few extenders that puts out 30db wireless power. The most allowed by the FCC. It fits nicely in my back porch outlet. I could have used a regular router as an extender and got the same results for less money, but I would have had to mount it somewhere and run the power wire to it. I also own a TP-Link as my main router, so this extender connected as a mesh extender flawlessly. Also, I prefer to set up my equipment using a web browser without signing up for an account. TP-Link lets you do that, although they also have the option of making an account and using an app. The only negative I have is that it did not update its firmware automatically. I had to do it manually. Not something most people will do. If you want a powerful extender that tucks away nicely or extends 6ghz wireless, you may want to pay the premium for this. If you want to save money, there are other good extenders or routers that will do the same thing for less money.

Great range, easy setup, locks up once a month requiring it to be unplugged and plugged back in. Resetting in Tether, when it works fails.
This is on a network with about 70 devices, if you have few you might not have this issue

We replaced a Netgear router and extender with TP-Link. This extender with the new router were much better than we had.

Trying to get my Wi-Fi signal to an outbuilding that is next to my home. Would not send a strong enough signal to keep a good connection in the outbuilding. Returned.
ItWasMe –
Works but disappointed at the 6e range (6 GHz band). I bought this to extend the 6e range of my Nighthawk router. The condo complex I live in has MANY Wi-Fi users but no one in the new 6 GHz band :-). Although it does the job, it still has challenges covering our 1100 sq ft condo. 5G and 2G gives strong signals everywhere but 6G is always marginal. Extender is mid-way and I was expecting much better performance. There is only one wall between the extender and the router and another wall between the extender and the outer wall.
Dexter –
If you recently upgraded to Frontier’s 5G internet plan, this is a good addition to the free router they provide to help extend the wifi even further.
TerranceA –
Great product so far. I had to update the firmware a couple of times too. I get great signal in my bonus room with this wifi 6e extender. I think its better to use it as a access point.
Curt –
I added this mesh extender to my tp-Link AXE7800 6e network because of having to move my printers into a weaker signal area. It meshed beautifully including channel 6.
SethS –
Works exactly as advertised. Set up was very clear and simple. Nice feature that it has an Ethernet port on it if you want to use it was a power line adapter (I’m assuming). One con is that it will take up the whole wall outlet.
LukeC –
These seem to work well, but require a weekly reboot, in order to maintain a good connection to my ring cameras. Once a week I’ll notice that the signal strength of my ring cameras is extremely poor. After a reboot of the extender (not camera), the signal is excellent. It would be great if a reboot schedule could be implemented into its settings, so it could automatically reboot at a desired time. Right now I have to manually log in and reboot it, and that’s not ideal. My tp-link routers have this feature, so I’m not sure why these do not.
JerryS –
This was anything but a simple installation. I had to turn off my TP-Link router’s Access Control, find the IP address of the new extender, log in to the extender and set up everything manually. With this new wifi source (same SSID as my existing wifi network) all devices needed to reconnect to wifi, which is pretty much expected.
No Wifi 6!
The extender has been working fine – no hiccups – for about 5 days. TP-Link makes good networking products, but the installations are almost always harder and more complex than advertised.
NickG –
My house has many walls and yet this TPLink device works perfectly well on my second floor (even with the stairway door closed) while the main router is more than 50 feet away on the ground floor (at the other end of the house) and is obstructed by several walled rooms. As long as I elevated the TPLink device to its highest elevation above bookshelves and closer to the ceiling I had perfect/maximum signal strength. The device also worked perfectly for a LAN ethernet connection to my computer.

Was so dissatisfied with this. There no range on this. It did not work at all. Had to send back for a refund
Charlie –
As a wifi extender, works well with 4 and 5. However 6E is iffy unless the extender is in line-of-sight with the router. This defeats some of the reasons I bought a 6E extender and this limits its purpose. It works with 6E but not too well through drywall walls.
Richard –
Works as advertised. Would highly recommend. Trying to win that $400 gift card
ghbowen –
Using the Tether app made setting this up as a mesh network easy
Frank –
If you want to just expand your wifi for non gaming stuff then the speed is not bad, i was getting almost 500mbps close to the extender and at that moment internet was 1gig, but is not bad 500mbps but i wont trust that for gaming, price is too high, the app is nice but probably needs more adjustments. Works i guess with any router, i was able to use it with a netgear router.
Ghendorf –
The Extender was worth it. It allowed me to extend my signal to my detached garage so I could have strong enough signal to setup MyQ and Ring Camera. Others I tried simply weren’t quite strong enough or had spotty connection issues.
Setup was easy and the app allows me to configure it the way I like. It’s solid and well built. It’s also heavier than most and a bit big. It does take an entire outlet but it definitely does the job.
LarryV –
I’ve always had problems getting connection in my room. This extender is able to provide me a reliable
Connection. Worth the price.
ZhenciW –
A very good Wi-Fi extender. You deserve it. This one is very good.
Windchimer –
Installed the extender to provide better communication with security cameras. No problem setting it up and connected easily with our router. Remote monitoring of cameras working well.
GregoryD –
Works like a champ! Coverage in my house is stellar! Setup was a breeze. It even lets you know if it can be further away from the base router. Love it!
StephenC –
Works very well. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Roseb –
I really don’t see that it’s made my WiFi any better.
AlanS –
It is helpful but is interesting that on different days I get a different signal strength reading from the router that it is connected to. The only thing that should be moving at All is the rotation of the earth.
It does its job but sometimes reports weak signal but well it is connecting to a a Tplink router that has failed to impress me
BrandyS –
This works great! Needed an extender because due to remodelling, we stayed a month in our camper several feet away from the house. This did the trick! Have had no problems with signal reaching our camper.
Andrew –
I got this to have a dedicated 6e access point. The more observant of you might notice that this is sold as an extender, but after you get it up and running you can change the “mode” to “Access Point” which is what I did. I only wanted 6e (the 6 GHz band) and turned off the other two bands since I already have a mesh 2.4 and 5 GHz access points on my network.
This is to be use with my Quest Pro ( you can also use it with a Quest 3) to have a dedicated Wi-Fi network to allow it to have maximum bandwidth for Virtual Desktop with my PC. The Quest Pro is reporting connecting at 2.1+ Gbps, but the Ethernet port is only 1 Gbps. Keep that in mind if you really need more than 1 Gbps throughput to your wired network for your wireless device(s).
JoeyR –
I used it for my computer everyday. Work real good
JiachuanZ –
easy to setup and really stable for the connection
DavidS –
Couldn’t ask for better usability So easy to setup and connect
Tyler –
This is compatible with spectrum products. It works very well. And the app is pretty straight forward and a easy to use
FredelinS –
Verry good my internet was never the same since I got this product
Customer –
Was having difficulty with streaming with the previous extender, did some research and this is the one I decided in. Very happy with the results. It is a bit pricey.
HypostaticStudios –
Extremely fast, easy to set up, wide range, just know it doesn’t have an out USB port so you can’t chain to a computer with ethernet for VR connection. Great product!
DavidE –
This device worked as advertised, and it was pretty easy to setup. Im very happy with it.
Rick –
I had a few wifi dead zones in my home. I did speed tests in certain areas of the home and got low readings. I installed this and it instantly fixed my issues. It does set up a different wifi signal than your original, so you will have to reconnect devices to the new signal name.
GuyC –
I have wasted a lot of money over the years on network stuff. This is money spent for ZERO VALUE.
ScottT –
After some initial difficulty while setting it up, it has worked very well.
MichaelG –
Works better than expected
Impressed
This one worked where others wouldn’t
Expensive yes! But will last almost forever
LourdesO –
Good Price and a quick in and out of the store. However I would like to see employees on the floor helpibg
Rodnew –
Great investment one of the best product I ever bought if you ever in the line of a Wi-Fi router this is the best Easy to use For the value it was great
Mitch –
Setup for this device was simple , this WiFi extender is amazing
ark4peace –
I needed a router that could bridge and looked the convenience I thought I’d get being able to just plug into the wall. Unfortunately, my other tp link routers are the Tapo mesh system, and this is not, so it didn’t really work well with them, which was my only complaint, and my reason for return. If they make a tapo version it would be perfect!
DonottrustBestBuy –
Very high quality product. Would buy again and recommend to everyone looking for ear buds.
