    So I have a 2019 Mini Cooper. Bestbuy’s car repair shop thought I needed this kit, but I didn’t. I’m keeping it because my sister has an older car and I know she’ll need it when she purchases her dash cam.

    Anyhow, they were AMAZING. I love my front and rear view cam (by Thinkware) installation. The recordings that’s sent to my phone. The video is so clear! If I ever need anything install, I will definitely head to Best Buy.

    This is a must for all thinkware dash cameras! Definitely consider this if you want to unlock the full potential of your dash cam, as well as get rid of the clunky power cable that comes with the unit.

    When getting my dash cam installed, the installer suggested I purchase the hardwire kit. Good idea because it hides all the power cords plus frees up a powering outlet. Looks really professional and gives the dash area a clean look.

    The cable works really well except that I order two cables for two cameras I purchased and I only received one. Bummer I had to purchase another from amazon. cost me more than I expected.

    Ordered the ThinkWare F200 PRO for both my cars..Was told to order ThinkWare Hardwire Kit also for both cars…First install by
    Mario from Geek Squad informed me hardwire kit was included
    in originally F200 PRO already….returned kit, no problem..

    This worked great on our Q800 Pro installation. Had no problems with it. Wires are decent quality, though I am not a fan of the barrel style fuse holders as they add bulk to the harness. Regardless, I was able to fairly easily route the harness from the rear view mirror of our 2015 BMW X5 to the necessary fuses to tap. Simple product that does its job. Better if you can get it on sale like we did.

    Make sure you consult a professional before buying. I talked to Best Buy employees online and in person before and even had to put the make and model of my car in to purchase. When I went for installation I found out that my car (a 2016 model) can’t be hardwired. I could return this, but now I am stuck with a dash camera that can’t do parking mode and I am out the installation fee.

    If you hate cables running up your dash and in you line of view like me you must have this with your install. If you are not mechanically inclined I would not recommend you doing this on your own because you have to tap in to fuses on your vehicle and test for power. Also you need to know what type of fuses your car uses and purchase two add a fuse taps because they do not come with it.     Excellent quality, great price. Compared to the aftermarket offerings, this is far better quality. It’s also a better price. Just get this from Best Buy, avoid the Amazon knock-offs.

    It would be more helpful if a hardwire cable were included in the purchase of the dash cam since it’s necessary in order to enable parking surveillance when the ignition is off.
    Purchase of a separate product should not be required in order to get all features of the original product’s ability.

    That being said, we used this to get our Thinkware X700 Dash Cam professionally installed, and the Auto Tech was very professional, seemed to enjoy his job and was thorough.

    You absolutely need this to hardwire Thinkware dash cams. Cable is long enough to mount the rear camera on my Subaru Outback.

    I have Thinkware FA200 2 channel dash cameras on my 2016 Nissan Rogue & 2017 Ford Escape Titanium. Unfortunetly, a lot of newer vehicles have 12v outlets with constant power. Its a better choice to have the dash camera hardwired to the fusebox. Professional installation is reccomended. Hardwiring also allows parking mode, but I have it disabled, as I only want the camera to record when the engine is on. Another benefit is the same hardwire cable can be used when upgrading to another Thinkware camera.

    Splics righ in. Just need 12v power and ignition, or could use 12v from you cigarette lighter as long as it shuts off with the car

    The cable is long enough to wire from my fuse box to the camera on my 4 runner. The cable is proprietary and interestingly it helps the camera to detect the key positions, and change the modes.

    Purchased with the dash camera install service and everything is nice clean and tucked away. Parking mode works with the hard wire but you won’t be connected to the internet while car is turned off.
