feel is great, much better than something like the unreasonably chunky Razer Naga.
It’s a mouse, and a good mouse, it does mouse things.
You will not get the rated battery life. That was the time Steelseries got with the mouse in efficiency mode. which turns off RGB and set the mouse to 125Hz Polling rate. nobody would ever use 125.
With the mouse at 1000Hz and RGB on, expect less than half the rated battery life, so I recommend turning off RGB and leaving the polling rate at 1000.

It’s an amazing mouse I use it all the time and I would recommend it to everyone.
QuintonC –
Amazing at how light this mouse is and how easy it is to configure. Over all a great purchase. However I don’t like the software. It’s fast and snappy just don’t like how it naturally keeps trying to download and dance video clips even though it never asks you.
RayT –
Works well for gaming, made well with side key buttons
Numbers –
Heavier than a feather, but lighter than other quality mice. I largely got this for the ventilation around my hand, which has been nice. I have other SteelSeries items, and have yet to be disappointed by them.
Mundy –
Love the mesh lightweight design, every time I look at it I think to myself, “That’s a cool mouse” but I promise you that this mouse has worse buttons than any other mmo mouse on the market and will hurt your hands if you are doing anything for more than 30 minutes.
Elijha –
I like how light it is and it’s very airy for those nights where you have to sweat
CodeMonkey –
Battery dies SUPER fast and the RGB isn’t anything special and feels super cheap not worth the price tag.
Victim –
Lasted 1.5 Months, was great until that point.
Scroll Wheel FAILED, After using multiple SteelSeries mice for years I figured I just got unlucky. (Most recent one lasted 4 years of constant use before i dropped it when reorganizing my desk, RIP)
Got a Second mouse and it had the same exact problem not even a month later.
After some online forum hunting it seems pretty common for SteelSeries mice lately to have Encoder issues with mouse wheels(more specifically, the Aerox line).
If it wasn’t for the bad encoder that these come with then I’d say this is my favorite SteelSeries mouse to date.
The Weight(for 12 side buttons is great) and the
Mesh top(has skeptical but wow i can’t go back, sweaty hands begone) have both been a pleasant suprise.
Design wise I really cannot complain about it, its incredible.
Get the warranty if you want this thing.
Quixotic –
Functions as ot should, the steel series software sometimes dosent works so well but the mouse it good.
JeremyJ –
Super light weight as advertised, nice long mouse for longer hands.
DavidF –
Good mouse great customization of the buttons and lights
PhilippeM –
Very light, very precise, everything that I need for my gamming sessions.
BriceB –

KB34 –
Favorite mouse on the market. Would recommend to MMO gamers.

I dig the mouse. Only thing I dislike is how almost all computer hardware companies exaggerate their battery life using the most power efficient settings to say it has a crazy amount of hours when its more like 12-15 hours instead of something as high as 120 hours.

I bought it looking for a primary multi-purpose mouse and while it does some things really well, it’s only just okay tbh.
I LOVE the shape, which is why I got it to replace the Razer Naga X I was using prior for FFXIV and creative work, and the side scroll wheel is a nice addition, but beyond that there are just things that this mouse does okay whereas other mice do them exceptionally well.
The button layout took a LOT of time to get used to. If you have larger hands then this may be a good choice but the distance I have to travel to hit each of the 12 side buttons took more time to get used to than I’d like. On top of that, coming from the Naga X and it’s optical side buttons, the side buttons on the Aerox 9 felt both mushy and infinitely less satisfying. They’re fine if you don’t care about tactile feedback, but to me it did feel like a soft downgrade in overall quality. Add that to the out-of-date sensor (which works fine but pales in comparison to competition offering more up-to-date hardware for a lower asking price) and the asking price for this mouse just starts to make less sense (This thing is $150 MSRP btw, but it goes on sale pretty often).
The scroll wheel on the Aerox 9 is recessed, which you wouldn’t think would make a difference, but it makes using the side scroll function more of a chore than anything else. It also has really undefined steps to the scroll, so if you like zooming through pages or spreadsheets really quickly then sure, but it makes precise scrolling a bit unsatisfying.
Now admittedly, it IS the lightest MMO mouse on the market. Kind of a technicality since MMO mice are really niche, which I guess explains the MSRP. Thankfully I managed to snag it on sale for about $110, so it wasn’t a huge hit but it is enough to make you second-guess if you’re not someone who buys mice that often. Its 89g weight does make it much easier to use for longer periods of time without fatiguing your arm, but if light is all you’re looking for then there’s plenty of sub-70g mice on the market for much less. Again, this is an MMO mouse, and you won’t find a 12-button panel mouse like this one that’s lighter, wireless, and has side scroll.
For what it offers, it’s a solid mouse, and you won’t find another one quite like it. However, if you can narrow down your use-case, then there are much better options, especially a year out from this mouse’s original release. I still use it but I’ve since switched my daily to a Pulsar X2 since I don’t play anything that requires a full 12-button side panel as much anymore.
SteelSeriesKeyboard –
Beautiful RGB with a lot of customization and even the option to have them turn off while the mouse is moving to save battery life, the stock slides and ultra light weight design make this mouse glide weighless across the mousepad. The indepth customization of the side buttons
Is beyond impressive, and being able to have up to 5 dpi settings is very nice. Highly recommended this mouse for gaming and recreational purposes
Maven –
Love this mouse! It is super lightweight, and has all of the buttons I need
DevonH –
The mouse is light and the color customization is incredible. I love it

Being a very long time MMO Player having an MMO mouse helps out greatly in playing them. And I’ve tried a number of MMO mice out. From the Naga, to the G600, to the Scimitar. Thus when I had a chance to try out the SteelSeries Aerox 9 I decided why not as I have been using a SteelSeries keyboard for sometime.
And over all it was just very rather… Okay.
The things I liked about it? It was rather light, thus it didn’t feel too heavy to mess around with. And for giggles I did try out other non-MMO titles with it and it performed fairly well with games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Destiny 2. And while the design of the mouse isn’t for everyone, I did like how it looked and the battery life was pretty good as well.
However then the cons came in. I have bigger hands and it just didn’t feel *right* in my hands. Due to that pressing the side keypad buttons felt off at times. The side keys at least for me felt just a little too close together and maybe it was just due to it being new but pressing the buttons down felt a little bit harder then what I’m used too. And again I do have to bring up the look of the thing, while yes I don’t mind how it looks. I can see other people looking at it and thinking it’s ugly as can be.
Really over all I just found it very okay. It’s just not the mouse for me and my hand size. That said? If you are someone with smaller hands? I can see you really liking this mouse. More so if you have tried something like the Scimitar and found it far too big. If you are someone who plays other titles besides MMO’s? I think this may not be too bad for you, however may want to grab one of the new Naga’s over it.
In the end? If you have smaller hands and are looking for something a bit more light and that can work somewhat well with other games besides MMO’s? I’d recommend it. If you are like me and have bigger hands or just want something a bit bigger? There’s other mice out there that are a bit better thus I wouldn’t recommend the Aerox 9.

Great mouse, love all the great keys and how lightweight it is!
StephanR –
Smooth action, lightweight, and excellent responsiveness. The additional buttons are easily customizable for any application you may need them for.
kiara –
It’s a okay mouse but sometimes it loses connection while using it. I’m not sure if it’s an occurring problem with this mouse or if it’s just defective. Even using it as a wired connection it still occurs. But having the extra side buttons are amazing I love them! I thought they would’ve been softer to press but other than that it’s a good mouse/ easy to use!
JosephB –
Great mouse! Smooth movement and responsive. Highly recommended for any gamer.
cachabacha –
Amazing mouse, incredible accuracy and lightweight. And the mos important…nlots of buttons foroba games. Happy to play Dota 2 with it.
JaykobeS –
I love the ability to customize this mouse as much as you want, but my problem with it is that it doesn’t live up to its 180 hour battery life. In comparison, my 200-dollar SteelSeries headset, which is advertised as 34 hours, last for days longer than this. This is false advertisement and at most it has an18 hour battery life even with me turning it off to save energy in between uses.

Wonderful MMO gaming mouse. Can be used wired or wireless with the dongle or Bluetooth. I’ve not noticed any lag in any configuration. Like others have said the side 1-3 buttons can be a bit hard to reach but, this is due to the size of the buttons. Any smaller and you would accidentally click two or three buttons at once. So they balanced both problems into minor issues instead of creating one major issue either way. With a bit of practice clicking those buttons becomes second nature.
The mouse is very light, seemingly very durable and well built, and extremally responsive. Everything it should be. The only other issue would be the cost but in the end it is worth the price.
ReaganM –
very light and good quality. moved around really good.
Unknown –
Very light and refreshing compared to other gaming mice of the same caliber

I actually returned this mouse because while the idea is great the design of the mice is not. The buttons are too squished because they went with a very low profile mice. The buttons span a very large area making it very uncomfortable to use all the buttons on top of them being to small. They should have gone with a bit taller mouse like the Logitech and Corsair offerings.
AlexeiM –
Mouse is light and comfortable enough, however it disconnects all the time while in direct sight and within 1 foot of the dongle. As i bought is for gaming, waiting randomly 3 seconds for it to reconnect is not acceptable. I have triedball the suggested gixes and uodated all the druvers with no effect. It looks like this is a common issue. Side buttons are usable but not great, a coule of tactile pips on some buttons would have been great.
Skot239 –
Great software, easy macros, looks great…. It is great for people with big hands like myself, it glides well and is light.
Megan –
I love the fun colors and it does everything I need it to do. This mouse allows you to pick your own color for the lights or have it switch between the colors.
DrewM –
Very lightweight and durable. Have had no issues with the connectivity, both wired and wireless. Buttons feel fluid and lights respond well to different programable settings. Satisfied with my purchase.
AmberL –
This lightweight design is great! Despite being lightweight, it feels well-built and durable. Loving it.
ConnieK –
GRANDSON LOVES THIS..THINKS IT IS GREAT AND EASY TO GET USE TO
Linksys6eAtlas –
Buy it! Excellent choice! For gaming! Works as expected.
CandiceB –
Great gaming mouse.the mouse lights up which is fun. Also has numbers on the side that are very helpful.
JeffF –
Ive had many mice in my years of gaming and PC building. This is my favorite so far. Its sturdy, well-built, visually appealing, super light, and wonderful to use. Ive had Arctis 7 headphones for a number of years now and they are still going. So when I went to replace my keyboard, I got this unit. Will stick to Steel Series products from here out.
KalubT –
Big fan of thumb keypads on mice and this one is the best ive found for larger hands while still being very light. fast charge very long battery life.
TylerB –
AMAZING mouse. everything I wanted in a 12 key and wireless. battery life isnt as advertised but still pretty great. easy to setup different configurations for each game you play as well
Sdrye1 –
Gift for my son who is a major gamer. He loves it. Easy to use, comfortable grip.
Benjamin –
Perfect, absolutely perfect. It’s light feels amazing in my hand. And the buttons are easily programmed couldn’t ask for a better one especially with the price.
JamesR –
Its nice to just push a button and make things happen in the design world
MLNorth –
This mouse has great texture for grip, plenty of room to hold on for any grip and buttons-a-plenty for any game. The wireless capabilities just push this type of mouse to the next level.
LootDelivery –
I have the Logotech G502, G604, and Naga Trinity. I prefer this mouse. I use it for fps as a Tarkov main. It makes leaning while moving and shoulder swapping more intuitive and smooth. Definitely recommend even if its for fps and mmo.
LakevilleNord –
This mouse is great! I bought it to use at work and will never go back to a notmal mouse.
GumbyBigFan –
Solid lightweight gaming mouse buttons are easily distinguished from one another. Works good in wires mode too.
Chris –
I’ve used nearly every MMO mouse on the market, and this mouse is nearly unusable for its intended purpose. I have large hands, and even when doing a palm-grip on thr mouse I struggle to reach the first row of thumb buttons. Theyre also positioned in an aggressive slant that makes it difficult to tell what button you’re pressing. Would not recommend to anyone looking for an MMO mouse.
