This is the first small Bluetooth speaker that I own. I have headphones, earbuds and a pair of high-end Bluetooth wireless speakers for my TV. I have to say that for the size these are amazing. The app was easy to load and control the speaker. The app can allow you to adjust the EQ of the speaker or has presets for specific settings. The speaker also has a light feature that lights to the music. This feature can also be adjusted in the app. The speaker is charged via USB C and charges quickly and I have played the speaker for a week several hours a day and just now needed to recharge it. As for sound. This little thing is amazing. I was very surprised at how good it sounds. The highs are great but the low end was what was so surprising. It is hard to believe how much bass comes out of this for its size. In doors it sounds great but I will say outdoors it loses a little in volume. From what I have read you can link up to 100 of these speakers together. I will probably be buying some more of these for outdoor use. All in all, this speaker is a real winner. I can’t believe you get so much sound for the size and price. I would highly recommend this speaker to anyone.

  2. bigshayn87

This little thing is awesome. I can’t believe how loud it gets. It has great clarity and surprisingly good bass. I love that it is waterproof. I use it in the shower all the time. Showers are fun now. LOL. The lights on it are very cool. Battery life is great. It’s a great all around speaker that can be used pretty much anywhere. Good job Anker!

  3. APFLORES413

Our family is always in need for small portable speakers for our lifestyle. Whether in the shower, outside in the park, or because we live in a TownHome and can’t have the music playing too loud, we were really excited with Anker’s Soundcore Mini 3 Pro. We were impressed with the cylinder minimalistic design.

Set up was really easy, having downloaded the Soundcore app. Connecting it to my iPhone was seamless and easy, and utilizing the app is actually an important feature to get the most out of this speaker. You can set up different color schemes based on preference, able to set up different sound settings to maximize audio, voice, music or custom.

I guess I shouldn’t have expected too much out of this small speaker. The sound is decent, but the bass is very lacking and doesn’t have a crisp sound. It doesn’t have a smooth sound when you are playing loud music.

Overall, we are happy with this little speaker. For the size it works well and we are happy, my expectations shouldn’t have been too high. The glowing lights that match the beat is a nice feature to have, my kids really enjoy that feature.

    PROS
    – Great sound for such a small speaker
    – Durable build quality
    – USB-C charging
    – My kids love the RGB lighting
    – Water resistant

    CONS
    – The rubber bottom collects dirt/pebbles like it’s its job

    == SETUP ==
Pairing the Soundcore Mini with your phone is super easy. You just need to hold the power button for a few seconds to power it on AND put it into pairing mode.

Anker also has an app you can install on your phone, which assists in pairing, but it’s best used to give you more control over the Mini and keep it updated.

    == SOUND QUALITY ==
The Mini is smaller than a can of soda, so keep your expectations in check. However, for such a small speaker, the audio quality and volume is quite impressive. I think rock/pop sounds the best on this speaker, but you may disagree. This is a fun little speaker to bring along on a picnic, to keep around while BBQing, or while hanging out on the patio.

    == DURABILITY ==
I haven’t put the Soundcore Mini through any “torture” tests, but it has been dropped from waist height a few times already, with NO damage seen/heard yet.

It does have a water resistant rating, so it should be fine if caught in the rain or sprinkler, but I would still avoid dropping it near the pool if you can.

    == BOTTOM LINE ==
It’s small size, durable build, good audio quality, and RGB lighting makes this my kids favorite speaker to run around with while they’re playing outside. I like to use it while relaxing on the patio or when using the grill.

It may be small, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised with how good it sounds for its size.

  5. KansasMeddlingMom

The Anker – Soundcore Mini 3 Pro Portable Bluetooth Speaker in black is so much fun. Although I am 62 and pretty much past spontaneous partying, this hand sized speaker is really great.

What is not to like. On a full charge this speaker will run for 15 hours, it is waterproof, vibrant with circulating colors to follow the beat of either the music playing or the voice sound of talk radio, and easily links to my devices when seeking Bluetooth signal. When I ordered this I first thought that I would Bluetooth tunes from my phone to this speaker and put it in the cup holder of my riding JD lawn tractor. And while that is still an option, However, I decided to use it in my shower and rock out to my favorite 70’s disco and 80’s music, the musical sounds from my teenage and early twenties.

This speaker is so affordable at $39.99, so easy to transport, so easy to use, and most importantly, so much fun, it is even able to be linked to more of the same speakers for a fabulous sound and light show.

  6. jailoliv

Setup couldn’t be easier. It took less than 15 seconds to be up and running. No kidding. It took longer to download the app but by then I was already enjoying music connect through my iPhone. There was enough charge for a few hours and the included USB-C cable can be used to fully charge it for a promised 15 hours, which I couldn’t confirm.

While it won’t blow up your ceiling, the Anker Soundcore Mini 3 Pro will surprise many with a performance that is much bigger than its size. Being very picky when it comes to audio system, I never expect much from such tiny speakers and I am mostly right. In this case, though, I am glad to say that it sounds much better than a similar sized popular smart speaker with Alexa. Bass is good, not perfect but I definitely wouldn’t set my expectations too high for such a compact device. It is waterproof, which you can’t say about that popular speaker. Just strap it to your swimming suite – although I wouldn’t recommend listening to it under water – and forget about it being damaged as long as you don’t go deeper than 3 feet.

One interesting feature is the PartyCast, which allows you to connect multiple Soundcore speakers for a more immersive experience if you have another one around. And by immersive, I don’t mean stereo or surround in the real sense. Still, it brings some extra fun.

Working at my backyard today, I had it running for over 7 hours without a glitch even while I was moving away from it. Just used it again to make a phone call and it sounded really good at both ends.

Still playing with the Soundcore app, which can control bass for instance. After, finding the best setting for me, I probably won’t use it much, except for checking eventual firmware updates. Not saying that it isn’t worth it but I couldn’t find much use for it. Even though it is mostly noticeable in dark environments, the Lightshow is fun too.

My five-star rating is just because it far exceeded my expectation, especially at this size and price range. For an extremely portable speaker, it couldn’t be much better than this. If you need something that will really impress your ears with crisper sound, then you’d probably need to go with a bigger system and spend considerably more. But again, it is worth the price.

  7. Closingracer

I’m not a huge fan of small speakers since you can’t really get much out of them but I’m pleasantly surprised how much bass you can get out of it for the size and price of it. Inside the box you get the speaker and cable and that’s pretty much it. It’s also IPX7 so you don’t have to worry about getting it wet. It connects to Soundcore app which allows you to EQ it and change the lights which I find kind of annoying but you have them and can turn them off. Battery lasts a while as well.

  8. hitsuyoo

For starters, this thing is half the size of a standard water bottle and packs the punch of a speaker 3  times its size. It’s a bite-sized bundle of bass. Not only that, but it can be cranked to its highest volume and it won’t even distort the sound. There’s a Bass-up feature that gives off a crisp hum to help you feel the music as it kicks you in your ear holes. Next, let’s talk about that water bottle that I spoke of earlier. You can pour that water into a glass of your choosing(amazing, I know) and drop the Mini 3 Pro inside and the music is still as crystal clear as that water. Yes. It is fully water resistant, with an IPX 7 rating. It’s straight up submergible.

As you can see, from the image above. It does maintain the strap from the standard Mini 3, but it also added Soundcore’s signature Party Proof lights that will dazzle you with the bass driven lightshow. It’s really a delight to behold. The Mini 3 Pro is boxed with a 2 ft USB-C to A cable, no charging brick, but at this point, you should have tons of those things laying around, from old smartphones and what not. At least, that’s what everyone is banking on. No one really puts bricks in the box anymore.

    Who’s It For

Basically, the Soundcore Mini 3 Pro is for anyone that listens to music from their smartphone(EVERYONE). Those that want to have tunes going as they work in the office or in the garage around the workbench or while gardening. It can be used while on hikes or driving your golf cart or gator. Basically anything with a cupholder. It can go with you in any weather. And with an approximately 15 hour battery, you won’t run out of juice anytime soon.
It’s small. You may want something a lil’ bit bigger, if that’s your thing. I live in Texas and y’all know what they say. Everything’s bigger here and you may want your speakers to be the same way. Again, there’s charging brick, so you’ll need to accommodate that for yourself. And the final issue is the speaker can be used as a mic, while on phone calls. This can be a good or bad thing. Depending on where you are and who’s around you. You may not want to share your business with the whole room. The sound is really clear, just sayin’.

    The Verdict

The Soundcore Mini 3 Pro will run you  $39.99 USD and I personally think that’s a little high, for its size. But it is an upgrade from the last iteration. Can you get a cheaper speaker? Yes you can. You may even be able to find a better sounding speaker at this price, but I doubt that you’ll be able to link up to 100 of those busters together to crank the block. No, I don’t think you will, unless it says Soundcore. Anker has been doing that with their latest line of Party Proof speakers, and you know what? That’s pretty cool. The only caviaught is that you’ll need to have multiples of the same kind of speaker to get that explosive surround sound. If something changes, I’ll update this, but for now, this is where we stand.  I think this would make for a great gift for that coworker in the office that would rather hear the music from their phone, than finding a streaming site on the work computer. Or even that nice mail carrier on your block. Those mail trucks don’t have stereos.  With all of the pros and cons considered, I’m going to have to give the Soundcore Mini 3 Pro an average rating. I’d say spend the extra few bucks and get a Flare mini or something more beefy like the Rave Neo.
I don’t think I could recommend this one, even though it it did improve on the already good design.

  9. movieluver

This Bluetooth speaker is a good little device to take anywhere you go. It is lightweight, portable, and easy to use. To turn on, press the power button and the device will turn on and start beeping signifying that it is looking for the Bluetooth connection. You can easily connect by going into your phone’s Bluetooth settings and connecting. You can also pair several of these speakers together to get more of a surround sound. To turn off, hold down the power button for about 2 seconds and the device will play a tune signifying that it is shutting down. The charging cable is a usb-c cable about 2 ft long.

The device is also waterproof (I did not test this feature out because I never mix electronics with water-never have and never will) and when turned on will have a ring of multicolored lights around the top of the device. When the music is playing this will light up and flicker according to the beat. I did find that it doesn’t look like it goes along with the beat of the song.

You are able to connect phone calls to the speaker and have a normal conversation. I was told that my voice sounded normal and there were no disturbances or cutting out when I spoke. The speaker has the microphone so if you are talking on the phone, have the speaker close by. The sound of the caller is clear and there was no cutting out or dropped calls.

Now for the sound of the music. At a low volume, the bass is very noticeable and it sounds decent. It’s nothing spectacular or amazing but it sounds good. As you turn the volume up, the bass seems to lessen and the treble is more pronounced. So the louder it is the less bass it has. As I listened to the music at full volume, I didn’t feel comfortable that the speaker would be able to sustain that level of volume for an extended period of time. I could be wrong but it just didn’t sound right.

When I connected the speaker to my phone and watched a video clip, I noticed a slight lag between the video and the sound. It’s not a huge difference but you can tell if you really pay attention. I noticed because I’m scrutinizing for the sake of the review. If you don’t care and you just want the speaker for music, then the speaker is not a bad choice. It’s a decent speaker, not the best but not the worst either. It gets the job done.

  10. niteryder

If you are looking for a small portable speaker that has very good sound, the Soundcore Mini may just be what you are looking for. This is not a room filling sound blaster, but for a small office, cubicle, or small room this is the ticket.
It is waterproof, has a USB-C charging cable, Party Cast, and lights up. I don’t really use the Partycast, and the lighting is nice, but for e the sound quality is what counts.
First off, this is not a loud blasting speaker, but it does have very good sound quality for such a small package. The highs are crisp, the mids are clear, and the bass is surprisingly good.
I would recommend this as a small space personal speaker that will give you surprisingly good quality sound.

  11. rjv86

This little speaker is great. Its quite loud and sounds really clear.

Nice compact size fits into cupholders nicely, so if you’re on the water in a kayak or other boat, you can have your speaker secured

The app is really cool because you can control the equalizer, light patterns, etc.

I think the best part about this speaker is the versatility of the Soundcore line.. you can link up more speakers than you’d ever need even if they’re different variations.
In my case i have this mini pro 3 and the flare 2. i can set one up as the primary and the other as my secondary. If i pick up more of either kind, i can also add them to the chain to have music scattered throughout my area. super handy if you’re boating in a pack, everyone can have a speaker and one person controlling the music.
This is a feature lacking on other brands, many which require you to have the exact same model.

  12. Lorax

Nice design, well thought out buttons – easy to turn off lights. USB c charging, waterproof. Sound somewhat hollow eq available in app but not much improvement.

  13. AudioFan

This speaker is great for the size. It paired very quickly with my phone and turning it on after a music session is quickly started. The sounds is great and you can download the app Soundcore and are able to adjust the EQ. On top of the speaker there are lights that light up based on the sound if you enjoy that. Also there is a little carry handle or ring at the top which you can hook to something if you are mobile. The base has a sticky base which makes it stick to the surface a little so it won’t vibrate and move. I enjoy Anker products and this one didn’t disappoint at the least.

  14. BigA

This is by far the best speaker in its price range. Are there better speakers? Short answer is yes but they are going to cost 3 to 5 times what this tiny power house pack. The bass was solid and not muddy as small footprints seem to be. The mids and highs we crisp however tend to be a bit directional as the only drawback I could find. The lights are pretty cool but really a non factor in the review. The battery life was very good and on par with just about everything in this price range. I quite honestly was blown away with this speaker would give it more stars if possible

  15. Balboa3

I can’t think of any other portable Bluetooth speaker that comes anywhere near this little guy. I have a few Bluetooth speakers around my home, and some smart speakers as well. My portable speakers aren’t quite this small, which is what drew me to picking one of these up. I was blown away from the moment I started playing music on it.

My initial impression when I took this speaker out of the box was, “Wow! This thing is tiny!” My second thought was “man it has some heft to it.” This speaker has amazing build quality. It looks great, and the bottom third is covered in rubber. This is the area that has the controls and the charging port. Buttons are hard to see, but after a while, they are easy to feel out by touch. You can easily change volume, control music (play/pause, skip, etc.), and initialize Smart Assistant. There is also a way to connect up to 100 of these speakers together in what they call PartyCast Mode, but sadly I only have one at this time. I’m sure connecting 100 at once would be awesome!

Where I was really blown away was when I started playing music. I really was not expecting how loud and rich the sound was from something so small. Again, I have Alexa Dots, HomePod Minis, and Google Home speakers around the house, so I was guessing the sound would be comparable to those since they were around the same size. This tiny speaker sounds so much better. You can adjust the EQ to different modes. You get 4 different preset modes, but you can also customize your EQ by toggling 9 different sound ranges. I left it on the default, Soundcore Signature, mode and think that sounds fantastic. I had thought I would just use this little speaker when I left the house and at work, but I have ended up just carrying it around the house as well. I prefer using this over any of my smart home speakers. I love the sound that comes out of this device.

This is such an easy recommendation to anyone looking for an ultraportable speaker. Build quality is fantastic, IPX7 water proofing so you can use outside and by the pool, the sound is amazing and can be tweaked for your specific listening style. All of this paired up with a USB-C charging port, 15 hour long battery life, and a cost that is a fraction of most off the market, makes this speaker the one to beat in this category.

  16. knamed2016

This speaker sounds great and is very pleasing to listen to and use. I do think the only two gripes I have are that the buttons which are muted can be hard to see and the color can’t be set to a single color. You can however true to the RGB colors off which will make some folks happy. When you install the software it allows for several different combinations and color patterns but you can’t just set it to say blue. The sound is surprising and can be used on your desk to give you a full experience. I wish I had maybe 4 or 5 of these paired. My almost teenage daughter wants me to let her use these as well. She was drawn to them. The build is excellent and is highly recommended if you want big sound in a small package.

  17. KimH

This Bluetooth wireless speaker is perfect to use outdoors or where you don’t have electricity. It withstood light exposure to moisture(brief rainshower), and I am using it on vacation as well as in my potting shed which has no electricity. Easy to charge with a USB cable. The only ding is it won’t pair with a Dot. It pairs well with my Samsung Galaxy.

  18. EricJay

The box says “size defying” and I have to say, it’s not lying. This compact little speaker pumps out a lot of great sound, better than you’d probably expect from something this small.

Pairing the Soundcore Mini 3 to my phone was simple, and the Soundcore app makes it easy to choose equalizer settings and change up (or disable) the multicolor light effects.

The design is simple, with a few controls (power, volume, play/pause, and Bluetooth pairing) near the bottom edge and a small cloth loop that can be used as a carry handle or to clip the speaker to something else. The speaker is waterproof, and there is a solid feeling rubber cover for the charging port to keep it from getting wet.

Overall, this is a great little speaker. Easy to take somewhere on the go, sounds fantastic, and my kiddo loves the light effects.

  19. Crashphoenix

This little speaker is amazing. While I didn’t expect audiophile quality, deep booming bass, or concert hall filling sound, this little speaker really does an amazing job. It can get surprisingly loud, while still maintaining clarity. For such a small speaker, the bass is astonishingly good. The highs can get a bit scratchy, especially at higher volumes.
Great for backyard get togethers, integrating with an established Bluetooth home speaker system, kitchen music, and camping.
The waterproofing makes it great for the outdoors, canoe trips, river/beach/lake days and backyard cookouts.
The LED on top gives you a mini light show, nice for patio parties.
While I wasn’t able to test the feature, Anker claims that you can link to other Soundcore speakers for multi speaker playback.
The soundcore app for the EQ is easy to use, and connects seamlessly. The attached carry strap makes it convenient to hang somewhere, tree branch, pole, plant hook.
Get these as gifts for your friends/family and link them together at your next gathering.
Battery life for me was excellent. The claim is 15 hours. So far for me in 3 long running tests streaming from pandora I got 14 hours 37 mins, 16 hours 1 minute and 15 hours 54 minutes. YMMV.

  20. UncleBrenty

Wow! Replaced an old pair of two Bluetooth speakers with one Soundcore Mini 3 Pro from Anker. The box is right when it says “Size defying sound”.
6 watts sounds like much more. Lots of features for such a compact device. BassUp Technology so you can pump up the bass or let the in-house tuned digital signal processor analyze and adjust it, Beat Driven Light Show with 5 settings and Customizable EQ that are controlled in the Soundcore app on your iPhone.
Lights can be turned off in the app but why would you want to ?
Fully waterproof casing to protect internal components from liquids. Side of the box shows speaker in water but I wouldn’t want to risk it.
Up to 15 hours playtime on a single charge with the included USB-C cable.
Claims to be able to link 100+ speakers which would require a very large space due to the big sound from the little speaker.
I tried connecting to my laptop to watch a concert on Netflix and the sound was much fuller and detailed than if I just played using internal laptop speakers.
You can also use the Mini 3 Pro as a speakerphone! Carry strap on the back allows you to hang up the speaker.

The only real drawback was the set up. No real instructions as with most electronics.
Textured symbols on the base of speaker and power light and Bluetooth pairing light.
You really need to add the Soundcore app to update firmware and control the lights.
App also has lots of generic music that you can play to test various setup functions.
Download the manual (first 7 pages are in English) since the inserts are
just the kind with pictures that make you guess at what does what. Tech support is only Monday through Friday,
9 am to 5 pm Pacific time or via email.
Unfortunately, the speaker pauses playing music if you use the video camera on your iPhone so
party videos will need to be taken with another device.
Apple said there is no setting to change on the camera or Bluetooth app to keep the music playing.

Super impressive speaker with fun light show. I may end up adding more.

  21. Lacy

Wont charge AT ALL. Cant play music even if it’s plugged in. Passed my returnablw date (not by much) so im stuck with this speaker now. Loved it before this. Great sound quality for being so small. Louder than my Sony one which is the same size.

  22. Defective

I’m really enjoying the sound quality of this little power packing system. You wouldn’t believe how good the bass and total sound is from a device that can fit in your pocket can sound.

  23. Bumi

Very convenient to take around and the sound that comes out from this little giant is awesome. Loved it

  24. sunny

Nice I use it in my car and then my office it’s Compact and I love for disco lights on top

  25. ByeWokefools

Quit doing business with WOKE companies ! Never buy anything from you again !! Bye losers

  26. RIPDOOM

Bought as a gift for my daughter. Didn’t expect it to be so loud. The bass ain’t to bad neither. Gonna get one for the office.

  27. socalgal

This was a gift for someone else, they seem to like it a lot. Cant’ speak from personal experience since I haven’t used it. My other Anker product is exceptional so I assumed, and hoped, this would be the same.

  28. Unknown

Shower banger! This lil thing is so dope! Sound is pretty good for its size!

  29. StealthyPingu

The volume and bass exceeded expectations given it’s size.

  30. KATHABEL

i didn’t expect that it would be really loud coming from this small speaker. I liked it. I’m sending it to my brother 🙂

  31. ChargingAK

Small size! Lots of sound! Beautiful little speaker!!

  32. SilentNite20

Some of the best mini speaker’s I have heard. Bought 2 for tru stereo sound. Also has RGB lights. Would definitely recommend.
    .

  33. RandomGuy

This is a great little speaker for the price. I bought to use outside and in the garage due to its dust resistance and being essentially water proof. It also has a great battery life!Very easy to pair and operate and it works well with the Soundcore app. The light on top is a fun little extra feature. Unexpectedly good bass for the speaker size and overall sound quality is excellent and can be adjusted in the app equalizer. The speaker is upward firing and seems to keep the music contained to the area without bothering neighbors but it does seem to diminish the bass depth further away from it. I do wish the onboard control buttons were more raised so they were easier to feel and differentiate. Overall, I love this little speaker and it’s been great to use for the first month or so I’ve had it.

  34. Crispeto

First I want to thank Anker for creating premium speakers without the premium price. I absolutely love my new Soundcore Mini 3’s. I have the mini 1 and the mini 2’s. These just simply sound better and more full and rich. The bass is clearly more noticable and the app really lets you customize the sound to your liking. They’re good looking speakers and very small especially considering the sound they provide. Truly amazing speakers especially for the price. Three things to keep in mind. These have Partycast mode meaning you can connect them via bluetooth to another speaker however they are not TWS as far as I can tell meaning they don’t play in true stereo sound. I don’t mind it at all but some might. They also have no aux port like the mini 1’s and 2’s do. Again, doesn’t affect me. Last they have no sd micro slot like the mini 1 has. I highly recommend these!

  35. firstrule

This little speaker is surprisingly powerful. It has a lot of bass, and really impressed with how much performance can come from its small frame.

  36. Kangze

Decent sound quality for such a small size speaker. Recommend for the people that travel a lot and need music and podcasts in the hotel bathroom.

  37. ERDR

Good sound. Perfect for poolside. Flare 2 is nicer when you can get it on sale.

  38. Julie

    I love this little guy!
    Big sound.
    Perfect size.
Charges by plugging into USB Port

  39. AndVank212

The sound quality is great, the lights look awesome, form factor is super compact but allows for great volume travel and the built in strap makes it super easy to use. Great if you have multiple Soundcore products too with the app support. Don’t sleep on this one

  40. Jondphotographer1

This tiny speaker is very good for its small statcher. Like the sayimg good things comes in small packages. Iove the light show while listening to music its a great buy .

  41. Suze

Worked straight out of the box, which was great for my grandson. He connected it right away and loves it. I can’t say about the battery life but mine have always lasted really long between charging. Hopefully this lasts him a long time!

  42. MHJ56223

Light, amazing sound, and super long battery (at low to medium volume), and a cool LED halo which makes it a nice display when setting it on a table while listening to music.

I love the crisp sound quality when pumped up all the way. Very few speakers at this price point have this quality.

One downside: It is EXTREMELY difficult to pair multiple Soundcore Mini 3 pros together. I almost returned all 3 that I bought after 4 hours of trying to pair them.

It’s still not easy to pair them even though I was finally able to pair them.

The instructions provided on pairing multiple together are not correct, nor is the online instruction. In those, the flashing lights that are supposed to indicate different levels of the pairing process are not accuarate.

I finally figured it out by pairing the main one to my phone, and then turning the other 2 on and pressing and holding the blue tooth button and clicking it until it makes a new sound indicating the pairing was successful.

Range of pairing isn’t the best. I paired 3 speakers together that all sit in one room each that are all next to each other. The main speaker is the middle room. But one of the other ones that I paired to that one seems to be very crackly. I wonder if the phone has to be within 20 ft of the main speaker to correctly bluetooth with the phone.

This little speaker is so cute. The sound it produces is bigger than you would expect. Very clear and tight. Good placement of controls and they are easy to see.

One of my best purchases in a long time. Great price, sound and very portsble. I bring it outside to the patio and to the kitchen table among other places and listen to great music or podcasts there.

Big sound for suck a small package and the material used feels of high quality, no distortion, it’s a very good speaker. Portable light long battery life, quality, well balanced sound comparable to more expensive brands.

A few months after buying this product I had volume issues. Very low. I assumed upgrading to this one would help but I had same issue as the first one I bought.
