This speaker is a definite upgrade to my other speaker the XE-300. The sound quality is clear and the bass is deep. The weight and size is probably the max amount to make it feasible for traveling and carry on. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

I will summerize my return reasons for various speakers. Bose flex: too much voice, not enough instrumentation sound, mid bass is annoying. Megaboom 3: sounds hollow, no real dynamic sound, sounds like careboard. JBL extreme: too much treble, sounds cold. The sony sounds warm, treble is clean, bass is not boomy or missing and vocals sound pronounced, but not exaggerated to make the speaker sound big. Fills the living room nicely with noise. Easy and pleasing to my ears. I listen to spanish music. Good sound. Best value at sale price. Plus, you can add/reduce bass/treble with app, unlike others ive tried, the sony app adjustments actually make a dramatic difference. Also works as speaker phone.

At the time, I paid $200; it lasted 11 months and then the battery failed to recharge; its terrible design did not allow it to be replaced: Sony’s One Year warranty was worthless, they did Nothing to help or address the issue-NEVER BUY Sony Products AGAIN

Unfortunately I am not very happy with my purchase. The speaker is not as loud as it advertised in store- and the battery for it being new does not hold it very long. It certainly do not last 25 hours as it states. We had it fully charged – used it for 5 hours. Turned it off- went to use it 4 days later it was telling us low battery….also the range is not what it’s advertised.. went inside the house with the speaker on porch and it went all cranky and disconnected – I wasn’t even 10 feet away from it. Dont waste your money on this speaker. Not pleased considering the cost I paid for it.

I you are looking for loud speaker thisnis is really good. The mega bass is not bassy rather it gives correct quotient of the base wich is good. At first i was skeptical , but more you listen the more you will like it. I have tried the marshalls, JbLs and Bose but this different in a good sense.
